Extremely good service, excellent location and superb room. Very kind and cooperative people at reception desk. I find it difficult to talk about bad aspects. I was very happy and this will be my first choice in case of new stays in Klagenfurt

20-21 July Dishonest management and awful smell. We came late and were moved a couple of times due to unfinished repairs and awful smell. Three of us were walking .from room to room. We end up in a stinky suit and had to sleep with open windows. Every time we moved to a new room, a girl from reception gave us an apology and said that the price is the same. Nothing alarming, it's standard procedure in all hotels around the world. We were tired after all day driving but it was ok. The girl was polite and apologetic. She said she was new. But it wasn't the worst part of our stay. After a pleasant breakfast, we were hit with the news that we have to pay almost 5 times the original price. We tried to explain but we were rudely interrupted by lady who appears to be a manager. She demanded the whole payment and threatened to call the police. She was very rude and just repeated we have to pay or she calls the police. She said she had no information about the previous night. So we welcomed the idea to call the police. As soon as the police came price dropped to 1.6 original price. And she demonstrated full knowledge of events of the previous night. So she lied to us through her teeth all the time. We didn't have time to argue and the police advised to pay that reduced price. If you enjoy being yelled at, scammed of your money, sleeping in a stinky room this is the place for you.

Hotel is beautifully appointed and in a great location next to the new square. The staff were initially not so pleasant, and I think one in particular was in need of a little more training when it came to interacting with guests and customer service skills. Upon arrival my fellow travelers were told, insistently and without sympathy that their rooms were cancelled, after they drove 8 hours to get there. They tried hard afterwards to make up for it, but the experience ruined my hotel experience. Additionally, allowing the guests to smoke in the downstairs lobby is unfortunate, because all the smoke goes UP and seeps into the upper floors and guest rooms. I would recommend the hotel rethink their smoking policy.

Very nice hotel. Very clean Ate breakfast in the restaurant , good omelettes. Buffet was pricey. Right close to U-Bahn. Right across the street from Schönbrunn Palace. Amazing must see! The grounds are incredible! Lots of good restaurants, bars & coffee shops within walking distance Brandauers restaurant has great ribs 1 order is more than enough for 2. Hotel Schönbrunn is very beautiful.

This is a hard review to write but the idea behind these things is to pass on honest feedback so, here goes...the hotel is in an excellent location - opening up on to the main tourist square with everything located nearby. Lots of places to eat, shop and sightsee. The staff at the hotel are truly first class and really go out of their way to ensure you are catered for and looked after with the only issue we had was not being able to get a drink in the bar one night. The hotel is VERY niche with an over the top rococo/baroque style with many period pieces, some that work and some that don't. The staff are all proud of the venue and can tell you about the paintings but the style just didn't work for me. It comes across as very dated and somewhat unclean. They need to balance some of the styles with something more modern and simple. Of course, this is all an opinion. We arrived at the end of May when the weather was very hot and were informed that the air conditioning isn't switched on till June, which led to a couple of uncomfortable nights. Great beds, curtains worked really well but had to leave windows wide open to get some air into the room. The bathrooms border on unacceptable for a 4-star hotel with the products needing an update ASAP. Breakfast was fairly good with a large offering and I did hear another guest ask for something off-menu, which was happily prepared for them. The staff get bonus points but not sure I could recommend.

We were attending a wedding in Corinthia nearby and wanted to see Klagenfurt as well. This quirky hotel could not have been a better choice as it is directly opposite The Lindworm in Neuesplatz. The staff are really helpful particularly Karen. The breakfasts are good quality and tasty. The honeycomb is wonderful. As it is an old building there is no air-conditioning. Some of the artefacts in reception or the corridors are fascinating others can be a little kitsch.

The Hotel staff was wonderful especially Manuela. She was very informative about the area and was a pleasure to deal with. I would definitely suggest staying at this hotel. Very clean and has the look of an old palace. I was upgraded from a single room tom a double for my entire stay.
