Nice breakfast and adequate in other aspects

Decent breakfast. Close to where I was going

Lack of a reception. The owner / manager seemed quite irate when I showed up to drop my bag off at 1 p.m. prior to check in at 3 p.m, despite the literature stating that they were happy for people to drop off bags prior to check in. Check in was then a bit chaotic. The property needs a little TLC in the common areas.

Supet location, super breakfast

LOCATION: Excellent — right across from the train station with connections to all tourist cities, only 15 minutes to Brussels. Wonderful breakfast — rare to find such a good one in Europe. Polite staff. ROOM: Simple but practical, comfortable beds, and the furniture is not old.

Reception: Doesn't exist at all. We searched in the dark for about 10 minutes, couldn’t figure it out — the building has the hotel’s name, but no entrance, only the restaurant. It was really confusing. We had to go into a restaurant, and only then did the waiter tell us that the hotel entrance is actually through the restaurant, past the tables with people eating, all the way to the back. Very confusing and inconvenient. I believe the staff should have informed us in the booking message about how to check in. Room: Poor lighting — the ceiling lamp is just for decoration, and there are only weak stick-like wall lights. You can hear people showering next door, it feels like the water will pour on your head. The bathroom fan is very loud — when you go in at night, it wakes your partner. The pillows were awful, full of lumps, but after I complained, they brought new good ones the next day. The building is old — they just stuck new panels on the walls to make it look nice and modern, but forgot about the ceiling. The shower base is extremely slippery — really dangerous. No kettle or dishes in the room. We took dishes from the restaurant and went there for hot water — there’s a big coffee machine there. No elevator and a steep staircase — not pleasant at all when you have heavy suitcases.

Hotel is OK, but check that the shower works!

Great breakfast buffet, good location just opposite the station. Room was nice enough.

The shower in my room was only luke warm, not warm enough to be able to stand under it to have a shower. The staff said a plumber was due to look at it, but it was like that for both nights I was there. In the end, the best they could offer is to try to find me an empty room the following morning where I could use the shower, as the hotel was booked out. When I was checking in, I happened to talk to the people checking out of that room and they warned me that the shower wasn't warm enough. So that's at least three nights of the shower in that room not working properly. Aside from that, the whole hotel smells slightly of damp, but that may just be due to the age of the building.

Good breakfast and easy access to the Brussel Airpot.

The manager is very friendly and reliable. She kindly made us a packed lunch because we had to leave before breakfast time.

You have to carry my suitcase up a steep staircase.

Thank god it was only one night.

This hotel is old with small stairs which are hard to navigate with heavy bags. Our room was at the back of the hotel and we had to have the windows open due to the heat. The windows are right next to the extractor fans for the downstairs kitchen.

Location

Having to go 4 set if sharp steps in order to get to the room , it should be made clear in the description . A lot of people for various reasons may not like climbing stairs 4 floors ! It was kinda exhausting..

The breakfast was amazing. There were a variety of food to choose and the coffee was nice. In addition, the location was right in front of the train station, which was very convenient for traveling. The room was very quiet.

The bed was too soft for me. Although it wasn't something I prefer, would be great for people who like soft bed.

For a 2* hotel is more than OK.

The location is just in front of the railway station, this means 15 minutes walking to the center. Check-in and check-out were very easy. The breakfast was included and very good. The last day I had to leave early and the staff provided me the breakfast one day before. The coffee machine was available in the restaurant for all day long.

The room has no air conditioning and this year the temperature in Leuven is higher than the previous years.

Great value for money and friendly staff

Friendly staff, comfy beds, pretty good curtains, excellent breakfast, supportive owner: despite restaurant closed on sundays (which also serves as entry to hotel), we were able to leave our luggage in the 'storage room' so we could sightsee hands free until the evening when we came back to pick it up, before taking the train home. Also, they happily provided us with glutenfree 'pistolets/sandwiches' when we asked for them at breakfast!

Had an amazing stay here! Nice staff, my room nr 11 was quite and the shower was great. Breakfast buffet was good and big as well. Within 2 minutes you could be in the train but you here nothing from the station!

- Yes, the stairway is a bit tiny and there is no lift. But for me it was not a problem. - On booking it's located on the wrong place at Martelarenplain. I was first confused, but found it with Google Maps.

The entrance to the hotel is quite difficult to be found, no clear indication of the hotel name on the doors, no-one to be asked where it is and it was my 5th time stay in Leuven in 10 years. Unfortunately, I was assigned the only room located on the 4th floor, but there was no lift, I think that it should be clearly stated during the booking. As for the breakfast- generally OK, but there were almost cold eggs in insufficiently heated containers

Breakfast was ok for me since I do not each much in the morning :) If I would, I'd be disappointed. Let's say, eggs and sausages in the morning is enough for me, but for most it is not. So I'd rate breakfast as medium. But for this price and considering perfect location it's more than good for the hotel :)

Located opposite the train station. That's about it's only plus point.

Unclean. Shabby. In need of proper cleaning and a lick of paint. Damp patches and peeling paint in bathroom. Miniscule room and bathroom. Not suitable for 2 people & luggage. Overcharged on arrival (still not resolved). Poor breakfast - too many people, not enough food. Didn't help that the restaurant was open to non residents and a party of 14 on Sunday morning certainly impacted the 'service' and availability of food, plates, cutlery. Had to make up our own place settings on both mornings. Sadly one of the worst travel properties I have stayed in - have stayed in better backpacking hostels in the 1990s
