A normal guesthouse

The location is great, only a 5-minute walk to the high street. The room is spacious. The staff are responsive, quick, and friendly.

The room was not clean. The carpet needs cleaning. The cups and kettle provided were not clean. The curtains cannot be fully closed. It is quite noisy in the morning. The mattress is old and too soft. The bedsheets and pillowcases are old. The air conditioner was not working, although the radiators worked well at night and in the morning. The hot water for bathing broke down for about an hour before bedtime.

Our room was a good size, the double bed was exceptionally large and comfortable. The location was exceedingly quiet for a town location and very well placed for the city centre.

Happy with our stay

Good location easy walking distance to most places. Very Dog friendly. Managed to park the car with no problem.

An ideal, inexpensive, base while visiting friends

De Parys Guesthouse is well situated on a beautiful, quiet, leafy avenue of large Edwardian houses, near the centre of Bedford. The rooms are spacious and the beds are comfortable. The owner was very friendly and, helpfully, accommodated an extra person who joined our party at short notice. There was also a small, complementary, self service, buffet of breakfast items. We wanted a cheap and comfy bed for one night while visiting friends and this was ideal!

No housekeeping was done during our 4 day stay ! Therefore bathroom was not hygenic...we helped ourselves to clean towels as left on a dresser in hallway.

The bedroom was large and the bed very comfortable Host was lovely and made me feel at ease

The look and feel of the accommodation Breakfast - I didn’t pay for this it was complimentary but I didn’t eat due to the quality (mouldy bread) and was still there on 2nd morning The stay was fine, I wouldn’t choose again though

On oasis in Bedford

Located in a quiet leafy avenue the large air conditioned room was a pleasure to stay in.

Nothing - everything was clean and worked including the coffee machine in the lounge.

Warm and welcoming and with air con! Fabulous

Fantastic place! Much exceeded expectations. Basic, yes but clean and comfortable. There were a few little things that needed attention. The bedside light, and the toilet flush button was missing (you could still flush it!) but outweighed by the lovely little tea and coffee tray, cereal and pastries for breakfast and, because we arrived early a parking space! We were also able to leave bags before midday so we could head off. Overall a very good stay!

Great value.

The bed was huge, so ideal for the larger ones of us. Ideal shower room and ground floor as requested. The location was very close to Bedford park, so I was able to take my dog for a lovely walk there.

No dislikes, but it could be enhanced by some small bedside tables and maybe a picture on the wall to make the room less plain. Overall very good value.

Quiet, cozy, clean and spacious, great location.

Location and the room size was great. Bed size was great. Very homely and cozy. Great to be able to open the lovely big windows in the heat instead of having to turn on the air conditioning. The TV was great - brilliant flatscreen smart TV.

I couldn’t close the curtains and even with them closed very bright. Although the bed was very big (fantastic), the mattress wasn’t very comfortable and the breakfast wasn’t good at all - Didn’t have any as very processed, no fresh items. There could have been a bit more fresh ingredients no option of a cooked or continental breakfast. There was processed cheap packets of chocolate chip brioche etc. Instant coffee miniature packets. No fresh coffee.

The location

It was filthy. Carpets needed vacuuming, cleaning cloths lying on the floor. It smelt bad. Our first bedroom had hairs on the bed (it might have been the dog said the host??????) second bedroom was ok. Bath towels were in tatters!!

Room was dirty, not hoovered. Carpet was stained and walls we’re grubby . Shutters looked like they had never been dusted. Bedding and bed was dirty and uncomfortable.

Very well located, with good walking access to the town centre, as well as to the lovely Bedford Park. Being a guesthouse, some of the neighbours can be a little rowdy at times, but nothing too serious.

Amazing double bed

The owner was amazing, my room wasn’t ready but said I could put my belongings in the room rather then taking it round with me which is what I did do. The owner was has done a great job in what they offer I couldn’t find another place at this value of money. My only issue was having to get up to switch the light off on the other side of the room. My bed was massive for little old me I felt like a queen for the night

The room was spacious and comfortable, wonderful hot shower. And windows that opened easily. the DIY breakfast is a good idea, Microwave useful Nice to have crumpets, Nice selection of decaff teas on mantelpiece thank you.

The curtains got stuck - I cdn;t close mine properly. No clean plates, bowls or cutlery to eat breakfast with. Had to eat my cereals out of a mug. Sad there was no musli.

Great location for what we needed. Katherine the host was very accommodating Breakfast wasn't included with our stay but offered

No where to wash up breakfast dishes, just piled up in the breakfast room.
