About this house rental

This excellent cottage on the hills of the nearby historic town of Sarzana, surrounded by centuries-old olive trees, boasts an extremely calm and geographically ideal situation and is furnished with every comfort, free WiFi included. It is close by the sea, both that of the beaches of Marinella and Versilia and of the fishing villages of Lerici, Portovenere and the idyllic Cinque Terre, and not forgetting crystalline waters of the celebrated Golfo dei Poeti (Golf of the Poets). The view from the cottage opens up over the valley of the River Magra as far as the sea. The cottage enjoys a special position which allow excursions that will satisfy all manner of interests, from the not-to-be missed marble quarries of Carrara to the archaeological area of the ancient Luni, from boat outings to the Cinque Terre to the exploration of the numerous medieval villages and hamlets that climb the surrounding hills, some of which are endowed with splendid castles that can be visited (for example Castle Malaspina di Fosdinovo or Fortezza Castracani di Sarzana). For those who are passionate about mountains there is the possibility to go trekking, with routes of various levels of difficulty, along the paths of the Alpi Apuane, or experience the thrill of an alpine walk around dolomite rock directly overlooking the Mare Terreno (Tyrrhenian Sea). Not to be missed is the historical centre of Sarzana, which is also walking distance away, with its antique stores, noble residences, ancient churches and all types of excellent typical restaurants.

lovely well positioned property in the hills above Sarzana with great Autostrada and regional highway access. All mod cons on site, located in a quiet neighbourhood with wonderful views out to the ocean and scenic walking opportunities. I was in the area on business during the winter, with sketchy weather, but the house was more than comfortable to come back to each day. Annalisa was very kind and helpful in every respect especially when it came to a parking issue with my large vehicle. I highly recommend the property and look forward to arranging a stay in the near future.

There is also a fireplace in the living room - which we didnt use after all as the weather was mild, but certainly pleasant in other circumstances.

This was our third stay in this excellent holiday home. We have returned because we love the home and the area. We enjoyed walking in the Apouane Alps, visiting the lovely hillside villages and relaxing at Lerici beach.

Beautiful location; even better hospitality

We loved our stay at the beautifully converted hay barn. It was so spacious and clean and really felt comfortable and secluded. Our hosts were so friendly and generous, giving us a plate of delicious figs directly from their trees. They even offered us a ride from the train station which we could not accept, but did then retrieve us from downtown Sarzana late at night when we got stranded without a taxi. We are so grateful for their excellent hospitality.

Not easy to find (our GPS didn't work), but wonderful! At the arrival Annalisa surprised us with local wine and a spungata. She and her husband were always there, when we had a problem. The silence in the mountain side near Sarzana was very restful. We liked our accommodation with the nice front porch, were the sun welcomed us in the morning for breakfast und gave us shade in the afternoon. Although the environment is wonderful. We made trips to La Spezia, Carrara, the Cinque Terre, Lerici, Porto Venere, Levanto and all the beautiful little villages near the sea and in the mountains. We were even in Firenze for a day trip, which is good to reach by train from Sarzana. Although Sarzana is a beautiful old town. Lastly we had luck, that at the time we were there, the Sarzana Acoustic Guitar Festival took place in the old citadel of Sarzana, just a dream! So thank you for the wonderful time!

Annalisa and her husband are very nice hosts. At arrival you get a welcome present and they are very helpfull with questions. The holiday house is on the property of the tenants but with enough privacy. There is a nice view over the hills and a big garden with fruit trees. De driveway to the house is very steep. The house is comfortable. Sarzana is nearby and that is really a very nice little town. We enjoyed our coffee and icecream there every evening. We can recommend this accomodation for a nice holiday.

We spent two weeks there and enjoyed very much. The location is ideal. The area is really nice and close to the city and sea. This residence is clean and comfortable and felt like home and the host and hostess are nice and friendly people. We surely would like to go there once again in the future.

"The little house in Sarz...

"The little house in Sarzana is a peaceful and cool place to enjoy your holidays and we highly recomend it ! My husband, toddler and I spent three lovely days there and wish we had spent more. The house lies in a beautiful garden and from all windows has spectacular views (of the sea, of the garden, of the olive trees). The house is clean, nicely furnished and decorated and has everything you need. The kitchen is small but has everything, except for a dishwasher. There were even a few first supplies (coffee, milk and some breakfast biscuits) for breakfast provided when we arrived. The house is on the property of the owner, which we would normally not prefer, but it has its own entrance, parking space and is completely separate and private. We found the owners to be very friendly and helpful, and they both speak very good English, which is not always common in Italy. I definitely agree with the other reviews concerning the need of a car. Sarzana is furthermore a good place from which to explore the region (beaches, Lerici and the Cinque Terre). You do however need more than three days, so we will certainly return here!"

Die Gastgeber haben uns herzlich empfangen und sind wirklich sehr nett. Das Häuschen ist schön, sehr sauber, gut ausgestattet und war für 2 Besucher ideal. Besonders gut hat uns der wunderschöne und sehr gepflegte Pool im Olivenhain gefallen. Man sieht in der Ferne sogar das Meer. Wir können die Unterkunft voll und ganz weiter empfehlen und kommen gerne wieder.

Sehr schönes Haus mit tollem Pool. Wer es ruhig mag ist hier richtig. Berge, Meer, Restaurants und natürlich auch Touristen-Hotspots sind alle mit dem Auto gut zu erreichen und somit hatten wir eine abwechslungsreiche Woche mitten im Olivenhain.

Sehr gemütliches kleines Häuschen mit perfekter Lage im Olivenhain, nicht weit entfernt von Sarzana und man sieht sogar das Meer. Die Küche ist gut ausgestattet und die Betten bequem. Das Highlight ist jedoch die Ruhe und der große Pool mit Liegebereich. Die Gastgeber sind sehr freundlich und bei Fragen und Problemchen sehr schnell erreichbar. la proprieta' si trova in collina nelle immediate vicinanze della bellissima cittadina di Sarzana (una 30 di minuti a piedi ), comoda x tutti gli spostamenti dalla vicina Lerici , alle 5 terre ,alle cave di marmo di Carrara,la struttura e' molto confortevole , abbiamo gradito la pulizia , la quiete che si respira , e la posizione veramente fantastica , i proprietari anche se non presenti ci hanno dato la massima disponibilita' non facendoci mancare nulla , spero di ritornarci

Io e la mia famiglia abbiamo soggiornato in un luogo ideale per avere il massimo della tranquillità. La casa è luminosa e in posizione dominante, con vista mare. Si trova all’interno di una tenuta di campagna, con ulivi e pini, davvero moto bella. Il sito è comunque in una posizione dalla quale è facile raggiungere numerose località di interesse turistico: in particolare i castelli di Sarzanello e di Fosdinovo

Our stay in Sarzana was beautiful. The house is very cute, perfect size for two people and well equipped. The olive grove is the perfect place to read a good book or enjoy the view of the surrounding hills with its castle. An diesem Ort kann man/frau einen wirklich richtig schönen Urlaub verbringen. Mitten in der Natur, den Zikaden den ganzen Tag zuhören und einfach diesen wundervollen Blick in die Natur genießen, das ist hier wirklich möglich. Annalisa und Stefano sind wunderbare Vermieter, Gastgeber und Menschen. Wir haben uns in dem Haus, auf der Terrrasse und in der Umgebung von Sarzana sehr wohl gefühlt und können diesen Ort sehr weitermpfehlen. Allerdings benötigt man ein Auto, da das Grundstück etwas weiter von Sarzana entfernt liegt. Wir bedanken uns für eine wunderschöne Zeit. Wir kommen mit Sichertheit hierher zurück. Wir haben sehr schöne Tage in diesem tollen Haus verbracht. Es liegt in einem riesigen Garten voller Olivenbäume. Die Hausbesitzer sind sehr charmant. Als Begrüßungsgeschenk erhielten wir eine Flasche feinstes Olivenöl aus eigenem Anbau und einen sehr guten Weisswein aus dem Weingut Lunae. Das Haus hat eine eigene Einfahrt und liegt etwas versteckt. Hunde sind erlaubt. Wir können dieses wundervolle Haus bestens empfehlen. C. und G. Patten mit Henry

Nous avons passé une semaine très dépaysante et reposante au milieu des oliviers, dans cette petite maison qui a beaucoup de charme et qui est très confortable. Les propriétaires sont très accueillants et donnent des informations précieuses pour profiter de cette belle région. Un très bel endroit, perdu dans les oliviers, face à la mer ! Nous avons déjà décidé d'y revenir prochainement !

Das Haus liegt abgelegen in ruhiger Umgebung, und doch ist man mit dem Auto in ein paar Minuten in Sarzana. Die Gestaltung und die liebevolle Einrichtung des Landhauses zeugt von gutem Geschmack. Wir fühlten uns sofort zu Hause und haben die (leider) kurze Zeit bei Annalisa und Stefano sehr genossen! Die Nähe ihres eigenes Hauses ist überhaupt nicht einschränkend. Im Gegenteil, es ist angenehm, wenn man Fragen hat und die Vermieter nicht weit entfernt wohnen. Auch erlebten wir die spontanen Gespräche, die sich ergaben als Bereicherung. Die "Wohlfühloase" verlockt, viel Zeit rund ums Haus zu verbringen. Die nähere Umgebung bietet jedoch viel Interessantes. Sarzana, Lérici/la Spezia mit Schiff nach Porto Venere (und weiter in die 5Terre), Marmorbrüche in Carrara und vieles mehr. Vielen Dank Annalisa und Stefano für eure grosszügige Gastfreundschaft.
