Beautiful place to stay at Caen. Right in the city center. Nice staff. Quiet and peaceful. Very convenient to explore the nice city of Caen and the D day beaches and all the history behind it.
I would definitely come back to Clos St. Martin but probably would reserve rooms on the first floor. Our room was on the third floor and the stairs are quite steep and narrow.

The location and the authenticity of the venue were wonderful. Our late arrival wasn’t an issue because they left the key in a lock-box. There was a lovely and very filling breakfast served downstairs with real china, glassware, silverware and cloth napkins. Nice touch. It would have been perfect to sit out in the courtyard to enjoy it but it was a bit too chilly for that. Lastly, there was plenty of parking just outside the property.
I’m used to places with no elevator but this was a new low. Our room was in the attic which meant navigating 4 flights of stairs with our bags on a very steep and tight stone spiral staircase. That was harrowing.
