Hotel Arenal Lodge

The view of Arenal Volcano was spectacular! The restaurant had a variety of good food options and accommodated our particular issues— one of us is vegan, the other allergic to dairy. The rooms were large. The garden was lovely and you could see amazing birds feeding on the fruit that is left for them. The staff were so friendly and welcoming.

I’ll just say that I’m happy that I rented a car with 4-wheel drive. The drive up to the Lodge is a bit hair-raising for those of us not used to driving on these steep, pitted, Costa Rican roads. But after a few times up and down the road, it wasn’t as scary as it was the first time I drove up it. If you are driving, make sure you have four-wheel drive and don’t arrive in the dark.

The scene of the infinty pool with the volcanoc backdrop was my favorite. Especially for photos. The staff was super friendly and we loved waking up to their complimentary breakfast and scenic view. When we had a long drive back to the airport, the sweet lady at the reception desk packed us some snacks and fruits to take with us.

The attention was extraordinary good , I love it

Honestly everything was on point.

The view from the common area is beautiful. The room was large and spacious.

The common area had a beautiful deck overlooking the mountian. Unfortunately they allow guests to fly drones here and we went to watch the sunrise before breakfast one morning and in the common garden guests were flying an EXTREMELY noisy drone. It sounded like a jet engine. This was BEFORE 7 am in the morning. Absolutely ruined the peaceful atmophere. ALso one of the jacuzzis was not heated up and the other was too full to use. With regards to our room, the microwave was broken which we did not discover until we brough food back that needed to be reheated. We tried several different outlets but it was definitely the microwave. Our dinner was wasted, it was too late to make a fuss over this so we just went to bed hungry and wasted the food.
