The 5-star hotel room had a great view, was spacious and very comfortable.

Our room, located on the top floor of the 5-star hotel, offered an absolutely amazing view of Kotor Bay. The room was well-appointed, spacious, and featured comfortable chairs and a couch. The car park was conveniently located, and the staff was great. In fact, it was possibly the best hotel we stayed in during our entire trip. The dinner was terrific, and the breakfast had a great à la carte option.

A gem in Montenegro

There is not a single negative comment to make about this beautiful hotel or its fabulous team of staff. We were treated exceptionally well with smiles and offers of help for anything. The staff here are absolutely the best team of staff I've witnessed in any hotel I have stayed in. The food was exceptional, full of flavours , our room was fantastic, so spacious, hotel locals excellent in location to the town and the views were absolutely breathtaking from the hotel

Great beautiful and quite private hotel to stay in Kotor area

this property is located right at the shore of Kotoska bay with small clean pebble beach for sunbathing and swimming. Water was clean and welcoming. Staff was very helpful and helped us to call taxi few times. It is 15 minutes to old town Kotor but traffic may add time to your trip. It is better to not have rented car because of parking problems and traffic. We visited in mid September and tourist's sites were quite crowded. At the hotel we had a chance to relax and enjoy Hotel's restaurant tap is popular even with locals. View of the lake is amazing

There is very short walking opportunity in the neighborhood, then "local road' that was built by Napoleon ends and to go further to the village called Lujta you need to cross bridge with no pedestrian walk. That felt dangerous - but this interval is short and we did it anyway.

The view and the food were amazing.

The view! The view and the view! Food was excellent too. Location was aprx 20 minutes from old town Kotor if there isn’t traffic. Beware — Kotor is one lane in/out and traffic was bumper to bumper during our stay. It was nice having a hotel in a serene area vs all the traffic and cruise boats and tourists. I would recommend this hotel if you want to stay outside of Kotor.

No elevator but that is typical in this region.

A nice place but lacks in key areas

Good location. Private beach and good restaurant.

Charge extra for a cappuccino at breakfast. Also no water at breakfast either. Never seen a hotel do that before. The safe didn’t work. The balcony was broken and was never fixed. Small things became an issue as they mounted up - like no toilet paper being added, TVs in the main bedroom room was broken. The second tv was barely functioning. This was a real let down especially for the high price of hotel compared to other areas around it like Perast. And it let down the attentive and kind staff who were great the whole way through especially preparing lunch and travel boxes which was a really nice touch.

Excellent hotel. A bit far out of kotor.

Welcome drink was a lovely touch. Very clean. Big quiet rooms. Very comfortable bed. Good shower and rituals toiletries. Good hairdryer. Plenty of storage. Breakfast was excellent loads of choice plus included hot menu. Staff were superb. Did everything possible to help us. You can reserve specific beach loungers just ask the beach waiter. Little fridge in room can be used to keep water cold if needed. Beach area immaculate but busy. Snack food and restaurant food all good. Cocktails were fab.

Nothing to do with hotel but we were 8kms out of kotor and taxis were €20 -25 and traffic is awful so stopped us going out and about much and made it stressful getting back. Had to ask for tea from bar staff at breakfast, bit annoying if you drink tea. First floor room 14 actually is on ground level and is basically part of the carpark so request any other room. We were moved a floor up. I'd pay extra for sea view room next time.

Recommended stay near Kotor

Very nice hotel with a very friendly hotel staff and waiters, the seaview is beautiful if you take it. Dining there was also fantastic with the live music.

Parking can be problematic, TV was not working (kids were disappointed 😂)

Great food, staff and beach, but rooms need better soundproofing

The breakfast was excellent: wide variety and very good quality. The hotel restaurant is also worth highlighting, as the food was consistently good. The private hotel beach, while small, was a real plus: unlike most beaches in the Kotor area, it isn’t directly by the road, so it felt calm and relaxing. Staff were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The location is convenient for visiting both Perast and Kotor.

The rooms could use better soundproofing. From our second-floor room we could hear noise coming from the corridors as well as from the kitchen on the ground floor, which at times made it less restful.

We had a fabulous time!

Lovely hotel in quiet village about 15 minutes from Kotor. Great beach and excellent food in the hotel restaurant. One of the best hotel breakfasts I’ve had. Kind, smiley staff. 🙂

For us it was not a problem but there is no elevator so people should be prepared to walk up stairs. Also be aware that not all rooms come with sea view so ask for sea view explicitly.

Beautiful location, with lovely terraced areas to chill in all the way down to the sea. The staff could not have been friendlier or more helpful. Luckily we are coming back in a few days for another night!

Nice small spot with great beach and view

Beach and view were absolutely lovely, very small but nice part of the bay. Big congrats to beach guard who was super nice and friendly and helpful . Parking also is a plus when you rent a car. Big balconies are nice feature to spend time outside

Not liking late breakfast ( suppose to be ready at 8, never was so you have to wait- minus if you have children and they hungry - be prepared) also weird thing is music playing via speakers at the hotel corridors so loud you actually hear it in your room- weird thing we never saw in any hotel. As it supposed to be quiet ( even when you rest or tske a nap) Other than that very nice place.

A must stay for Kotor, they set the bar too high.

First of all, sorry for the late review. We are the blanket family :) I believe this is our family's code name for the staff. This was my first trip to Europe and the staff of this hotel put the bar too high. They were very helpful. When you ask a question they come with you and tell you the solution at the place of the question. For example if you ask a question about the parking lot, they came out and show you. Every staff member was very kind and friendly. Breakfast's were delicious. Every morning we were like in a very elegant restaurant. The words generally coming out of staffs mouth was Of Course and Enjoy :) Each member was very professional on their job. Ohh and the scene from the hotel was amazing, waking up to that view heals human soul and it is much more quiter then the center of Kotor or Budva. Room was very clean, the shirts smell, and cleanless also amazed me. The bed was very comfortable. When I remember my visit I miss all of them. I would very love to come across with this hotel which I call my home in Kotor. And last but not least our code name comes from the day we entered our room we wanted much more blankets, they were suprised but they bring our blankets right away :)

A la carte breakfast is good. Nice view though many hotels in the area also have the view. Friendly staff.

We stayed here 5 nights in the nicest room. It was a disappointment. Bathroom is way too small for a 4 star hotel. The bed is poor quality, got a backache. The layout of the room is badly design, we feel the space is very small and uncomfortable. The room furnishing and furniture are old and need an upgrade. Spa section is ridiculously tiny. For the price we paid, definitely have better options elsewhere in the area.

A Gorgeous Stay in Kotor Bay – With a View to Remember!

Our stay in Kotor Bay was absolutely unforgettable. The view over the bay was truly breathtaking – one of the most stunning we’ve ever seen. Breakfast was delicious and a perfect way to start the day. The staff were consistently warm, friendly, and helpful, making us feel genuinely welcome. Dinner was equally delightful, and our room was comfortable and beautifully appointed. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience!

One thing to keep in mind is that the hotel is located a bit away from the main towns like Kotor and Perast. While the peaceful setting is lovely, getting around requires a taxi, which typically costs around €15–€20 each way. If you're planning to explore the area frequently, this can add up over a longer stay. Additionally, there isn’t a promenade or dedicated path nearby for walking or jogging. After about 500 meters, the road connects to the main road, which is quite narrow with traffic, making it difficult to enjoy morning runs or walks safely.

A Perfect Stay – 10/10!

Our experience at Hotel Amfora - Casa del Mare in Orahovac, Kotor was absolutely amazing from start to finish. The location is stunning – the view over the bay is breathtaking and creates the perfect setting for a relaxing getaway. The food was delicious, beautifully presented, and full of flavor, with options that cater to every taste. Everything we tried exceeded our expectations. What truly made our stay unforgettable, though, was the exceptional service. The entire staff was warm, professional, and incredibly attentive. A special mention goes to Vladana, who stood out with her kindness, positive energy, and attention to detail. She made us feel genuinely welcomed and cared for – a true gem! We couldn’t have asked for a better stay. Highly recommended, and we will definitely be coming back!

A Montenegrin gem

Firstly the staff were absolutely amazing. From communication prior to our arrival, getting a personal tour of the property, to continually checking on us during our stay. The staff created a real home like feel. The hotel room was stunning and the view was amazing. The use of rituals products in the bathroom was an added bonus.

An amazing hotel with incredible hospitality away from the maddening crowds.

The location is absolutely amazing with beautiful views over Kotor bay from the hotel and restaurant. The staff and cleaning staff are exceptional and makes this a special place to stay. A stunning place to stay away from the crowds in Kotor.

Everything was great. The extra bed in the loft was too hot even with aircon which made sleeping with the kids challenging.

Wonderful return trip to this special hotel: gorgeous location and exceptional hospitality

This was my second stay at The Amfora, having been blown away by the beauty of the location, the comfort, and the kindess of the staff, at my first visit in October 2023. My return trip lived up to all my expectations. I had a lovely, warm welcome from Vladana, Nataša, and all the staff, which I much appreciated, and spent four blissful days enjoying the sun and the gorgeous views of the bay from under a leafy fig tree, which is my favourite spot on the small private beach. I stayed, again, in a suite with a mountain view, which I actually prefer for having my morning coffee on the balcony. The staff at The Amfora are always very helpful with arranging trips and booking taxis. For my shorter stay this year, I made one trip to Ribarsko Selo, an amazing fish restaurant and beach club which I'd spotted during a boat trip to Blue Cave last year. The Amfora is perfect for quiet beach days and as a base for explorations, locally and beyond, by boat or road. Montenegro is a favourite destination for me and The Amfora is a place I hope to stay at time and time again. Very highly recommended!

It was beautifully situated on the water with lovely places to sit and enjoy the sun, eat, and make new friends. The staff arranged a boat tour for us and they picked us up at the residence’s dock. No need to drive anywhere!

Lovely stay in Montenegro by boka bay!

We loved the location, the room, and most importantly the service. Hotel is right on the beach and it is a beautiful private beach on the bay. Food at the restuarant was delicious and staff were super friendly! We would definitely come back and recommend this hotel. We even got a glass of prosecco on arrival! Great service!! Amazing people.

Uncomfortable little paradise in the bay of Kotor

The magnificent view of Bay of Kotor, private beach and dining terraces. Many thanks to Ms. Yana (waitress) for the great service during our breakfast and dinner. This makes our stay more enjoyable.

The air-conditioning to our room and common areas of the hotel are not working well which is very uncomfortable specially during the hot summer time, not only for the guest but also for the staff. We haven’t sleep well during our 2 days stay since the ac is automatically turning off and one time we got awake at 2am full of sweat…I reported this matter to the reception in several occasions but not resolved until we checked out. Aside from the above issue, everything goes well.
