Souvenir Maya

Loved this cute place. The whole place is filled with antiques and art. The room was big, had AC, a nice bed, and small sink. Super nice staff, very acommodating. I booked this last minute and the price was fantastic. So close to everything you need in Florence. Could not have been happier with this find. The shared bathrooms are kept well and seem clean. There is a coffee machine in the hallway.

This is not your standard white-walled, minimalist hotel with large rooms and every modern amenity. If that is what you are looking for, this may not be the right place for you. However, if you value being within a 15–20 minute walk of Florence’s main sights and appreciate old-world charm over luxury, this is a lovely stay. The rooms are modest but comfortable, the shared bathrooms were spotlessly clean, and there is free hot/cold water, coffee, and hot chocolate available in the common area. The highlight is undoubtedly the rooftop terrace with its uninterrupted view of the Duomo — perfect for a morning coffee or a quiet evening. What made this stay special for me, though, were Andreas and his wife, who run the place with genuine warmth and kindness, along with their two beautiful four-legged family members, Sisi and Gary. A characterful and authentic Florentine stay with a fantastic location and unforgettable hospitality.

I had an incredible stay at Souvenir Maya! The place was beautiful, super clean, and located within walking distance of the city’s main attractions, which made exploring so easy. The neighborhood also felt very safe, especially as a solo female traveler. I booked a room with a shared bathroom and was a little concerned at first, but everything was spotless at all times. There are multiple bathrooms available, so it was always convenient and never crowded. The whole place has such a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. Andrea was absolutely amazing! He was incredibly kind, attentive, and helpful throughout my stay. I was lucky enough to manage an early check-in, which was greatly appreciated after arriving in the city. He also kindly allowed me to leave my luggage for a long time after check-out. You can genuinely tell how much he cares about his guests. He shared the fascinating history of the accommodation with me and was kind enough to show me the rooftop view of the building, which was absolutely stunning. I honestly wouldn’t think twice about booking this place again for my next trip to Florence. Highly recommended!
