OYO Mars Hotel Seaview Blackpool

The hotel was lovely and the staff very friendly couldn't do enough for us and the food was so nice only one down full is it a long way from the main bit so it a long walk or as we did is use the tram and that was ok as it was 10 pounds for day tickets

The first room was dirty don’t think it was cleaned by housekeeper. We complained and had a very long wait for a second room. Once sorted everything was good

There was nothing I didn't like.

All staff were very welcoming on arrival, everybody we spoke to was very polite and friendly. There was a lift to assist to the upper floors although very squeaky. It was an easy location for taxi's and for where we were going to visit and managed to get a parking spot on the road outside, although there were other cars waiting to park so maybe at busier times it may be a struggle to park. We got there late evening and then went out to a festival so we only slept in the room for one night.

The room was very small and basic, there wasn't any sea view and this wasn't offered on arrival. Room very out dated, and unfortunately, it was not very clean. Unfortunately, the bedding was stained, the sheets didn't look clean, there was hair on the bed sheets and not just head hair, also what looked like make up staining all over the pillow case. The sheet covering the mattress under the fitted sheet was filthy, not just stained it hadn't been washed for a while, and you could see the stains right through onto the fitted sheet. The cushions and throw on the bed were also dirty, with either blood staining or food on them. The toilet was all dusty around the outside and didn't look as though it had been freshly cleaned, with no smell of bleach of cleaning products anywhere, neither with the sink and shower. There wasn't really a fresh smell when you walked into the room, the windows were wide open, and you couldn't close them securely. There was a build-up of limescale all over the handle and fixments. The room needed hoovering and new carpet/a good cleaning, I am not sure the room had been cleaned at all, to be honest. I slept fully clothed on top of the quilt and on my towel from home because I didn't want to complain just for one night, my partner wasn't bothered as he is used to dirty building sites but i didn't feel it was clean at all. There were only a few normal tea bags and normal coffee sachets in the room with whole UHT milk. There was no decaf coffee or choice of tea bags, and we dislike whole milk, so we didn't have a drink in the room. There were no bedside lamps or any phone to call the desk for assistance. We were told we would need to use our key card to get in to the building late at night but the door was wide open and nobody on reception so we couldn't ask for assistance and worried anybody could just walk in to the building during the night.
