Best bank holiday weekend

Very friendly staff,couldn't do enough i was on my own with my 2 🐕 🐶 they even took care of my dogs when I was packing car up,the breakfast was great and the room I was in was excellent,well enough room for me and the dogs,very clean,I will definitely be back and I highly recommend anybody to stay there,it was peaceful and each nite had good nite sleep. They made my stay a nice relaxing time .

The location

It needs a total makeover, dated poor quality fixtures and fittings poor workmanship, needs a good clean some aspects were not safe cracked window in room, no view out of the window due to it been vinyl wrapped to block out disgusting rear garden, taps on backwards, shower makes a horrendous noise when in use toilet doesn’t flush properly, water supply from basin smelt funny and tasted vile, no amenities provided in room no milk for the 1 teabag provided per couple, advertises a bar but not open owners sat in there but not welcoming for guests, communal areas dusty general tiredness and musty smell throughout, 2nd night was itching all night was meant to stay a 3rd but left and went to another much better quality hotel

Very comfortable & friendly atmosphere..

The Hotel is very old worldly, which we loved.. Very clean & tidy, room was nicely decorated, & very clean.. There was a little balcony, which was good for us.. The owners where very friendly & have had the Hotel for 19 teen yrs, & couldn’t do enough for you.. It wasn’t for from the tram stop, & walking distance to everything at South pier..

Overall we enjoyed our stay at the hotel.

We haven't had breakfast at the hotel. location is within a walking distance from south beach. However, you definitely need transport to get to the tower or central pier.

The building is too old I wouldn't recommend it to someone with a new baby born or little babies.

Not a great place if you like to sleep at night

The room was nice and good location

You couldn't get a sleep with the noise in the bar. Way after hours continuous noise from 12am onwards. To the fact at 3:40am I was ready for leaving but only because I was so tired and it would have been too dangerous to drive Complained the next morning and was told I should have said something.i shouldn't have to do that's as it should be common curtosy to keep the level of noise down due to people actually wanting to sleep.

Home from home, good food, warm and comfortable room, friendly staff.

The Royal Hotel is a home from home. We were made very welcome by Claire when we arrived for our short stay. All the staff were friendly they couldn't do enough for us. The home cooked food was delicious and hot. our room was warm and comfortable. We will definitely return.

The room was excellent and very clean, the staff went out their way to make our stay good, however they couldn't help with the water pressure problem, they had reported it to waterboard but they wasn't helpful I was told. I'd stay again but not on top floor as that's the floor which has the water pressure problems. I could not fault anything else, I'd give it 10 out of 10 if the bathroom was usable, the toilet worked fine, just shower n sink had no water coming out apart from a trickle

The water pressure was non existent, it was a trickle & the shower a drip the whole stay , due to the weather being bad it wasn't as bigger problem as if it would of been nice, as I had my granson he would of been on beach each day, & I'd of never got the sand of him without the use of the shower, no refund was offered despite I'd payed for a usable bathroom, which I didn't have the use of & the use of another wasn't offered,

Great staff, location and all round service

It has a homely feel to it, and everyone there couldn’t have been more helpful and friendly. It’s not often we have stayed in a hotel where you receive service like here. We will be back!

A window net would be ideal for a bit more privacy. The size of the room. Could do with a table by the mirror, and if the shower head turned.
