Apartments Bella

Excellent location right inside the northern gate to the old town. Nice comfortable and spacious room with a good Aircon which has heating in it as well. Nice private bathroom. Towels supplied. Everything was clean enough. There was a fridge, a kettle and a cooker. Table and chairs out front, DSA. The cat square is across the street. So cool. I love cats and there were so many cute kittens.

This place would probably score better being advertised as rooms, rather than apartments. It's the first time I've had an apartment with no table and chairs. What's the point with a cooker if you can't sit and eat anywhere! The hair dryer wasn't working. It's not important for me at all, but if it's there, it should work, I think. They tried to trick me when I checked in, telling me that I had booked a room with a shared bathroom but could upgrade for just €10 more. Once I got my head around it, I said I wanted to check the booking confirmation first. I never got that far, before I was rushed up to my room with a private bathroom, no extra charge, and sure enough, that was what I had booked. The above is just minor details. What's more important is that I don't actually book accommodation based on the standard of the rooms, but based on other things. On Booking.com it clearly said under the ROOM description, that the room had a balcony. That means it should be a balcony directly accessed from the room. There was NO balcony, neither private nor shared!! My overall impression is that it's overpriced for what you are getting.

We were pleasantly surprised by this apartment after reading mixed reviews and no response to communication prior to actually arriving. The owner has 11 x apartments in Kotor and we were lucky to get a good one. The price was amazing for the location. The mini kitchen was functional for simple meals. The fridge, air conditioning, hot water and wifi worked well and the view was lovely. We were on the third floor with stairs but that was fine for us. Supermarkets, cafes and restaurants were all around. It is a 10 minute walk from the bus terminal out to the spot the boat tours leave from. We had messaged the owner prior to arrival seeking instructions which may have helped find the office days before but never received a response. We relied on one reviewer’s comments that it was located near the city gate near the bridge over the river (to the left when looking at the old town) to find it as our GPS became confused once in the old town maze. We arrived at the office at check in time and found two boys engrossed in gaming on mobile phones but no adults. They could not look up to give us any information. The contact numbers on the office door were for the phones the boys were using. We waited outside and the owner arrived. He advised us that there was a plumbing issue so he would have to find another accommodation for us for the first night. We followed him to another apartment block and it was a nice place. The next morning we had to return to his office to be taken to the apartment we had booked. Fortunately, our apartment was fine. Everything turned out ok in the end but better communication and an adult at the check in desk is probably required.

The location is perfect to travel old town. Hotel was clean and we found all we need. The lady whose working for Bella apartments was so helpfull.

Apartment is nicely situated and the building itself is wonderful.

The facilities are there, but the sink in the bathroom was filled with water (who knows how long it had been there) and the plug was stuck which meant we couldn’t use the sink. We couldn’t use the shower because no towels were provided. There is a fridge and a kitchenette but not even a bottle of water provided, which for people who arrive late at night is disappointing.
