Amazing location, atmospheric building

Very atmospheric old building, comfortable bed, great shower. Amazing location right in the heart of town. On street parking was easy to find.

Bistro downstairs, which had great reviews wasn't open the weekend we were there and we weren't made aware. Didn't see any staff, no contact from hosts and there was no milk in the fridge for tea/coffee and no one to ask. Very steep and narrow stairs, no problem for us and it is an old building but difficult to bring large pieces of luggage up. Bed in Rm 4 in the eaves so awkward to get into bed if you are tall.

Loved it - already the second time we were there...

Location is perfect - particularly as we wanted to visit the Saturday market. Very quaint and pretty, excellent bathroom. You cannot park next to the location, but it is worth a little walk to and from the car.

Great location but noise from unit above made noise unacceptable, also cleaning lady was not very friendly.

Our room was on the 2nd floor with restaurant dining room right below us. Was very noisy until approximately 10:00 pm closing. Biggest issue was the room above no sound proofing between unit, was very noisy, hearing every step or noise from people above.

Brilliant location in the centre of Beaune. Old beams and stone coupled with good modern interior design make for a very cosy but practical apartment. There is a linked restaurant but it's not really a hotel.

Access is via an ancient and steep spiral staircase. Very romantic but hard to get up with large bags, or down after dinner.

Banged my head on the very low door lifting in a heavy suitcase. I suggest a written warning for guests whose powers of ‘tourist’ awareness are as low as mine. Shame the nearby hospices no longer take patients. TV remote control not fully functional.

Gorgeous building, very comfortable, and close to everything!

It is one of the most iconic buildings in Beaune. We felt very special to be able to stay there. Close to everything and extremely comfortable. The restaurant opens up Tuesday- Thursday and sets up the whole terrace for dinner. We loved the wine and the charcuterie there, the proximity to shops and restaurants, and the people watching. The apartment was very roomy and had everything we needed!

I didn’t love the spiral staircase to get up to the room, but it wasn’t too narrow, and the stairs were wide enough so I was able to get my small bags upstairs without much difficulty.

Perfect balance between Hotel and Apartment.

Location was amazing. I could walk to everything. Size of room was bigger than I thought. Kitchen was well stocked. Traveling alone felt safe and it was also quiet.

I would love a chair outside or something I could bring outside. I sat on the steps to have a glass of wine and watch the world go by.

This is the 3rd time we have stayed here, we love the accommodation it’s been beautifully designed to respect the old building, everything has been thought of internally. The bathrooms , kitchen area are very well equipped. The location is excellent, we love eating in the bistro too.

Charm, Comfort, and the Perfect Location in Beaune

We stayed at Maison du Colombier for 4 nights, and it was absolutely perfect. Spacious, beautifully designed with a mix of historic charm and modern touches, and with a lovely view over the square. The bed was incredibly comfortable, the bathroom well-appointed, and everything felt clean and thoughtfully put together. Being right above the wine bar was a bonus — lively but not noisy — and the location couldn’t be better for exploring the town on foot. We’d definitely come back. A tip would be to have 3 Beaune wines in the room, that you can drink and be charged for.

Wow! My wife and I agree that this property, accomodation and food, was the best part of our France holiday.

First of all, Beaune was one of our favorite stays on a two week journey through France. The entire property is gorgeous, clean, comfortable, and in a perfect location in the city center.

Haha: google indicated that the gastropub was closed the day of our arrival. We went to another place for dinner and were disappointed upon return when seeing the gastropub was open. Lesson learned: make a reservation! You don’t want to miss having a meal here!

The place to stay in Beaune

Magical apartment with incredible view of the cathedral. Good bathroom, kitchenette and living area. Comfortable bed. Fast WiFi. Well located in Beaune. Had a great wine bar downstairs worth a visit. We stayed 3 days, I could have stayed a week!

Not a problem for us but the very narrow, spiral staircase would be an issue if you had big bags.

Maison du Colombier - Studio Apartment 5 – compact and bijou in the heart of Beaune situated within the Dovecote House a historical monument of the 16th century, its construction dates back to 1572. Medieval in style recognizable by its high octagonal turret and its watchtower. Located in the heart of the city, it faces the Notre Dame basilica. Its ground floor owes its charm to the combination of Burgundy stone, terracotta tiles, oak beams and its three vaulted cellars arranged in a row. However this was not the apartment that we booked which was very disappointing and we had no one to communicate to as the restaurant was closed on arrival.

Upon our arrival Beaune was bustling on a hot summers Friday afternoon on the market square is Maison Colombier approaching the turret housing our apartment supposedly found the key code was defunct made several attempts, unfortunately Maison restaurant was closed decided to leave a message on the answer phone on the given telephone number. Adjacent was an annex building with apartment number 5 written on the door thus when trying the given code discovered the door operated, entering the premises discovered we had been designated the wrong accommodation. Realising we seemed to have been abandoned and being weary from a long hot journey from Lake Geneva Basin, Chablis the discerning travellers decided to shower change and choose a place to enjoy repast. As the heat of the day intensified so did the cacophony of noise emanating from the bars, cafes, hotels, restaurants and eating establishments which continued throughout the evening when we attempted to retire however the party revellers persisted with the hullabaloo into the early hours. Feeling this apartment was actually on the street with them we were then subjected to the hubbub and furore of the road sweeper, road cleaners and the setting up of the market stalls next to our apartment even the birds joined in with an orchestrated dawn chorus accompanied by the cathedral bells what a commotion taking us from Friday evening to the bustling crowded Saturday marketplace. Having had no respite was exhausted, extremely fatigued from sleep deprivation and several messages sent to Clara and her futile requests to the Colombier management prompting an amicable solution to alleviate our current predicament exasperated and in deep need of sleep to no avail. So disappointed and disheartened and indeed disenchanted with Maison Colombier management discourteousness and lack of respect for the customer who has had part of their vacation destroyed through not be permitted/able to enjoy the delights exploring Beaune.

Location was excellent, street parking was easy, apartment was nice and had everything you need with a great view.

The very narrow, steep spiral staircase with suitcases would be very difficult for some people. (We were on the top floor).

Beautiful room, very clean

I did not know that the restaurant was going to be closed. it would have been helpful to know that in advance. Perhaps the days and hours of operation could be listed when reserving room. Also, I misunderstood when to leave the room. since the restaurant was closed, I had to do out for breakfast. I came back to use the facilities and the cleaning person seemed very angry, spoke no English, so I did not understand anything she said.

Room (Nr.5) & Service conc. accommodation: Direct entry from the street to the room, through a door with no isolation conc. noise (cars, pedestrians, …), temperature, … Door not lockable from inside (access from outside via a 4 digit code), security standard unknown. Good for people on digital detox 😉 – the Internet was down frequently, bad for guests living & connected in the 2020s Unacceptable: no reaction on our SMS-Messages “Internet down”, “down again”, ... to the “Service-Number”, no info conc. reasons behind downtimes or bypass-solutions.
