Barrow's finest

Stay here when I'm working in Barrow. Clean, comfortable and well appointed. Good restaurant if you don't want to venture out to eat. Nice bar with Sky showing the football. Excellent breakfast if you're not up and out too early. Recommended.

Super place to stay easy access to all local amenities

Easy check in shown to the room advised on the security access. I asked for an early breakfast no problem

The room was perfect warm very tidy clean and very comfortable. Just one draw back the tiolet seat was loose and almost fell off I couldn’t fasten it myself needed special tools I think

Always my goto hotel when in barrrow.

I always stop at the king alfred when over Barrow for work. Always clean and warm and nice evening meals.

Missing breakfast as I leave early but thats not the hotels problem. Maybe a rate without breakfast would be an idea.

In general very friendly and helpful staff, and a comfortable stay for a short break.

The breakfast was very good, to an outstanding level. Also the evening restaurant meals were to an exceptional standard.

The en-suite shower was stuck on one hot temperature, the cold adjustment seemed damaged and stuck, The shower drain did not look as clean as one would expect. The bedside lights were very weak, one of them did not work at all. the advertised internet room price actually jumped in price by about £45 for the 2 night stay, when it was selected.

Happy time at King Alfred Hotel

Very welcoming, willing to respond to our particular requests. Good cooking. My personal test of a good hotel: real bar of soap and all butter biscuits in the bedroom!

Saturday nights are noisy in the restaurant because of live music in the bar but it was good to see people enjoying themselves.

Location was perfect, the room was very clean.

A very worn out single bed. I'm 6'2" and 100kg. I've not been in a single bed since I was about 14, didn't even know they still existed in hotels. Worst two nights sleep I've had in years.

Great four night stay.

Very friendly staff, good Wi-Fi and the hotels proximity to the beautiful beaches of Walney island. Nice food in the restaurant. Nice to have tea and coffee making in the room.

Lovely hotel/pub with rooms

Lovely hotel but I would say more of a pub than hotel. Can see rooms have been refurbished and very nicely done......shower room excellent. Staff very friendly and accomadating and breakfast was very good and large portions. Usb points in room, so clearly for business events too. Good location , so would recommend. Will definitely stay again but check no band playing .

Only one concern ........regarding events. Check with hotel beforehand once booked if having a live band playing as very noisy in our room 1, but we were informed of this on our arrival, luckily we were going out and came back after the band finished. So we missed the noise.

Shockingly bad

Nice cooked breakfast. Eady parking

The room was dirty. Toilet very unclean, in worst way. Used soap bar in shower. Carpet in room and corridor dirty. Rubbish on floor. Very dusty. Mattress horrendous. Pillows tired and need replacing. When booked I asked for table in restaurant. Told it's shut. I asked for invoice upon exit when I booked. Never got one. Asked staff when leaving, said they can't but it will be emailed. Not received. I emailed hotel. Next day still nothing. Hotel is a filthy dirty badly organised joke ran by poor management who don't care.

Let down by lack of maintenance.

Location and hotel inside was clean.

Shower head,squirting always,reported to staff,but wasn't fixed,toilet seat kept moving about,as it's the wrong seat for the pan,was told by a member of staff,been like that for while, broken glass lying about in carpark, damaged wall with loose brickwork lying about in carpark entrance.

The kitchen was out of order for 2 out of the 3 days that I was staying. Which would be slightly annoying but understandable if I was told before arriving. One of the main reason I pick the hotel was the reviews about the food

I think the evening meal had to be in the restaurant before 7pm which is a little early. Also I think a little under staffed at times,otherwise it was terrific.
