Another great stay at Victoria House

A lovely welcoming guest house with good facilities and very comfortable rooms, this was my third stay at Victoria House. The owners are very friendly and the position is ideal for my needs.

Brilliant Hotel!

The hotel is beautiful and clean. The staff were wonderful, full of information of the surroundings and what to do. Definitely coming back in 2 years time.

The rooms should have a bathroom each, there were 6 of us sharing 1 toilet and shower cubicle which is not ideal

a great place to stay in Barrow-in Furness - gateway to 30-plus west Cumbria wee train stops...

very spatious palace / villa with high stairs leading to big hotel rooms, en-suite and otherwise, nice spot for walks around Walney Island, Barro-in-Furness, taxi just £7 (seven!) from Barrow train station. Nice big dining room/kitchenette with plenty sunlight and high ceiling (great on hot summer's days/evenings)

Sadly no 5-10-20 litre water bottle in dining room, however - water supplied on request, this canteen has been fitted with few basic plates, cutlery, some utensils, an electric kettle and microwave, though.

Lovely attentive hosts. All our needs met and a decent price.

Room was spacious and comfortable - inc the bed. Great option of shower or roll top bath. Small fridge. Tea and coffee supplies etc. were topped up each day. Lovely open lounging area at the top of the stairs which my daughter loved to sit at to see the sunset each evening.

Some might think the hallway is a little tired - but honestly, everything else I felt was spot on.

The most beautiful and luxurious place.

This was the most beautiful place I've ever stayed at and the people who owned it where the nicest people you could ever meet, they'd even offered to try pick us up from train station and drop us off if they'd have had time which was incredibly sweet and generous of them. The rooms were so big that even the massive king size bed looked small in comparison, and they actually had blackout curtains which is great. Everything you could need and the hot water was actually hot! And that free standing bath was gorgeous. Honestly, it's the most luxurious place I've ever stopped, with a beautiful home and beautiful scenery. We will be back soon!

The BEST of the BEST

This is a perfect 10/10 stay. Everything is spotless, furnishings are tasteful and little touches like fresh flowers, unusual and interesting ornaments and features add to the whole experience. A mix of character and modern efficiency pulled off by hosts who also fit this description! Comfortable bed with view out of window, largest bathroom I have ever seen with claw bath and top notch shower. Breakfast delicious and served in lovely dining room. Hosts are friendly and welcoming. There is nothing else you could ask for, it is how you imagine the 'perfect' stay to be.

We enjoyed our stay sadly could only stay 1 night out of the 2 due to emergenci. Loved the bath shame didnt have any hot water at all in the morning due to another guessed left a tape runnin all night

Darren and sue were absolutely fantastic hosts you couldn't of asked for more they literally bent over backwards for us it was our first wedding anniversary and we even opened the door to our room to find a happy anniversary buntin on the wall absolutely fantastic place thank you very much.

If you do not visit this B&B you are missing a treat. We will be going back, this time for longer.

The continental breakfast was excellent and lots to choose from, i.e boiled eggs, meats, tomatoes, cucumber, selection of fresh fruit, cereals, fruit juice, yogurts, croissants, toast(fab bread & butter) tea, coffee etc. Cannot fault it. You could not wish for better hosts, nothing was too much trouble- genuine friendly couple who go out of their way to make you feel welcome and comfortable. Their B&B is beautiful, its an old church that has been restored and is tastefully done. We also loved the fact that you could sit & relax on lovely sofas which were on the large landing outside of all the bedrooms if you so wished. There are games & books to enjoy too. Bedrooms are a delight, very clean with plenty of tea & coffee on offer. Nice little touches too, such as hand wash & body lotion. Fluffy clean & pure white towels. The island where the B&B is placed is delightful & well worth visiting

Excelent, comfortable and amazing staff.

Me and my husband recently stayed at this hotel and it was a fantastic experience. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating, always stepping above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. The rooms were clean and spacious, with stylish decor and a comfortable bed. The only downside was the location, as it was far from the Lake District (+-1 hour drive). However, the peaceful surroundings made up for the distance, being close to the beach, pubs and restaurants. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable stay with excellent service.

Best time in the Lake District ♥️

The hosts were lovely. Very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Have us choice of two rooms. One bigger but across the hall for bathroom, one smallest but next to beautiful large bathroom. The decor and feel of this hotel was stunning. And just as we were leaving, we found out they have a swimming pool under renovation. It's a very deceiving property like a TARDIS, but without the Dr Who 😂 will definitely return. Such a wonderful relaxing time. There is even a fridge in the rooms too.

Sharing a bathroom wasnt what we are used to as usually just go to loo in underwear but needed to put robe on everytime we needed loo etc. Also only place to fill kettle was bathroom but 2 x 75cl bottles water was supplied daily so I suppose you could use that if someone was in bathroom unless you'd drunk it as the weather was hot. And a mirror on the blank wall would have been good instead of having to bring the full length mirror from the landing when doing make up or hair then returning it etc. None of these things made any kind of impact on our break though. Bed was a small double and when you are used to king-size and have a hubby that likes to sleep diagonally was a bit cramped but that's his issue Lol 🤣 It was so lovely and the hosts are great and very knowledgeable too. Thank you for making our mini honeymoon so wonderful. Hope to see you again soon ❤️

Sue and Darren are such welcoming hosts. We enjoyed our stay there very much. The room was immaculately clean and there was everything we needed. Plenty of refreshments, we enjoyed our morning tea sitting at the window with nice view and watching birds in the front garden.
