Location was good, not far to the beach, which is, of course, windswept this time of year (autumn). Very quiet neighbourhood, no sound in the night. The kitchen was amazingly well equipped and well looked after: twice a day, even at the weekend, staff did all the clean-up and managed the dishwashers. Staff was super friendly and helpful - they're doing an amazing job keeping everything so clean and working. No problem to park the car - plenty spaces in the carpark.
From the advertisement, it wasn't so clear that there would not be a private kitchen. Instead, it's a shared kitchen with all the other guests in the house, which are mostly commuters and not there at the weekend. The big and comfy lounge is also a shared place, and the one person who switches the TV on and has the remote will determine what's on the screen. All bedrooms have their own TV, so no problem with that, it's just that reading a book or playing a boardgame in the lounge (bad reading light in the bedroom) wasn't really possible. On the other hand, if you like a chat, it's nice there and most folk are friendly and accessible.

Lounge and kitchen ok
Thin pillows, small cold room, small bed, unable to check in on arrival for about an hour, unable to contact somebody to help on arrival.

Excellent balance of privacy and community. It is like a hotel with some hostel features (the good ones!).
It was very quiet as most guests use it for accommodation during work weeks, and we stayed for a long bank holiday weekend.
The view from the close-by beach was spoiled by too many wind farms.

this little gem has a huge lounge area, fantasitc kitchen and fresh rooms. great value and really impressive liaison between the staff prior to arrival. very little (nothing) to fault or have issue with, safe parking and plentiful.
Whilst the facilities were amazing, an idea of what was avaiable to be used and what is not would have been really helpful. whilst i arraived late and therefore opportunities to engage limited, it would have been useful to know what fridge etc belonged to who.
I was also not sure if milk was provided (as in the tea and coffee), so did without... it would have been nice to know whether the milk in the frridge was communal milk and for general use or - as i assumed - bought by someone else.... i ask as it remained unuponed throughout.

Very clean rooms, a nice common room area and well-equipped kitchens give the traveller flexibility for self-catering. The hotel was sparsely occupied at the weekend (used mainly by contractors during the week I imagine) and we felt we had the place to ourselves. Friendly staff were on hand and keep the place very tidy.

Private parking, clean room and comfy bed (room 21) Excellent kitchen facilities. Online check in, friendly and helpful staff.
Room 21 - able to open only 1 window other one had handle stuck not able to open. Tv didn’t work at all, antenna cable broken, also no remote.
Annoying beeping from kitchen back door, hard to relax in chill room.
Smoking shelter roof leaking badly inside…

Comunial area and kitchen with coffee and tea facilities. Is a great idea.
I booked two large single rooms. My son in law was in one with a toilet and shower. So I expected my room to be the same. But it was just a small room with a sink.

The communal areas for eating and relaxing were excellent. The ability to engage with others staying made it a friendly environment. Free tea and coffee available from the well-equipped kitchen. Good area for parking and felt like it was a safe location. Although there were no staff when I checked in, it was an easy process. The room was a single, but spacious, with an excellent quality bed, and recently refurbished, modern bathroom. Very comfortable room. Some refurbishing work is ongoing around the premises, but didn't impact my stay. For those staying longer there us a laundry area and staff offer a laundry service for a small charge.
Although there appeared to be some form of air-conditioning or ventilation in the room, it didn't seem to work. We were in the midst of a heatwave so did make it difficult to cool down in the room, so it was a cold shower that did the job! The blinds on the window didn't block out the early morning sun, not a problem for me as I am an early riser, but you may want to consider black out curtains to supplement the blinds. The LED lighting in the room is a little under powered, OK for watching TV, but trying to pack a bag or do anything else in low light , made it a harder job than it should have been. This is just constructive feed-back and not in anyway meant to detract from a very enjoyable stay. Outside of the property requires some tidying, in the garden areas.

Absolutely perfect self-catered accommodation - great kitchen facilities with everything you could ever need, very clean, modern and well maintained. Large, modern lounge area and decent sized garden as well. The room was spotless and very comfortable. Great value for money, can't ask for any better - will definitely be back next time I'm in the area.

Quiet location 5 mins from the beach, large and comfortable ensuite bedroom with kingsize bed. Kitchen facilities were excellent with a plenty of room to cook, with free tea and coffee (just remember to bring fresh milk as there is only powdered or UHT). The staff were very helpful and friendly
The rooms are comfortable, my room was quite large, but a very small TV for the size of the room, but in no way a deal breaker!

The location was perfect for exploring the island and the Lake District.
Even though we didn't stay in the Woods, we took a tour round the glamping facilities and it made us this of glamping on our next vacation considering that we're not really the camping type lol.
On a more serious note, we highly recommend West Point House to all visiting the Lake District.
Thank you West Point House/ Wood team.
Keep up the good work
This is not a dislike but rather something for the hotel to consider. "West Point might want to look into investing in bicycles to rent out to visitors. This would add value to the hotels facilities and help visitors explore further NCN700, NCN70 etc

This is quite a find, its a cross between a hotel and a hostel. Lovely comfortable rooms with shared facilities if you need to cook or want to chat in the common room.

Convenient parking, good communication, greated by a member of staff, easy check in, secured entrance, warm and very clean room with on suite. Staff addressed every request and we're very polite and friendly, quiet guests. Complimentary tea, coffee and condiments, modern design. Close to an amazing beach, small library, puzzles, great hot shower and fluffy towels
Uncomfortable pillows, which were changed on request, many thanks, and having to draw the blackout blinds to have complete privacy with room being on the ground floor, would be easier with some privacy film or voile curtains, plus it would soften the view from the window: a dark messy yard corner.

Nothing as everything was excellent
