B&B Het Merelnest

Heel vriendelijk onthaal, lekker eten, heel behulpzaam

niets dat tegenviel

We stayed at the B&B Het Merelnest for one night only. It was a stop over between 2 long drives. The room was absolutely lovely, and spacious and perfect for us and our dog. The B&B is family run, I met them all and they were so so warm and welcoming. We also ate our evening meal in their adjoining restaurant which was so handy as we were tired and didn't want to go anywhere else (the menu is not good for vegetarians though). Due to the rain breakfast was served to our room which actually worked out perfect for us. The room also had a fridge which was very handy to store our dog food in overnight.

Whilst the room had a luxurious feel to it, the bathtub was the only method of a wash and this was in the room itself, I do wish there was some privacy offered. The room could also benefit from some handsoap. The worst part of our stay was actually something the B&B couldnt control and that was noise (loud music) from a neighbouring property until the early hours of the morning. I wonder if the property would be able to negotiate some rules to avoid loud noise at antisocial hours. We only had a skylight window and had to keep it closed during a very warm night which made it difficult for us and the dog. I would also suggest asking guests if they have any dietry requirements. The breakfast, whilst very impressive and substantial, assumed we were both meat eaters. Meats were laid out, with other non meats touching it too which made some of it inedible for me. It was such a shame because it really was an epic looking feast. If you are a carnivore you will not be disappointed.
