A restorative stay prior to my long haul flight home

A wonderful, peaceful, rural location adjacent Sunflower fields. Spacious, beautifully decorated, lodges with private outdoor seating area and lovely views. A communal, well equipped outdoor kitchen for self catering, but with some breakfast foods provided.

Relaxing,beautiful stay, adjacent Sunflower Fields, before my long haul flight to UK.

Breakfast is self service with eggs and bread provided to eat in wonderful outdoor kitchen/dining area. You can prepare any other meals there - very well equipped. The individual very spacious lodges are laid out around extensive, beautiful gardens. The bed and bedding of highest quality. There is absolute peace and tranquility.

Enjoyed our stay. Was within easy reach of Karaka.

Did not use the breakfast option.

For the parking of 4 vehicles, painted lines would help. When we arrived on the first night we were obliged to park in front of the other vehicles, thereby hindering anyone with an earlier start than us. The white car was the problem - no consideration for anyone else. The door to Suite D rattles in the wind.

Peaceful haven

Easy, no hassle access. A very pretty room set among flower gardens and a paddock with alpacas and sheep right outside the window. It had a little fridge with tea and coffee, but the best bit was the fantastic outdoor kitchen. It had a coffee maker, and eggs and bread supplied. Everything was clean and tidy, in beautiful peaceful surroundings. I was only here for one night, but if I'm staying in Karaka again, I will definitely be back. Great value for money. Thank you

Picturesque with country charm.

We loved the location, beautiful view, and interesting farm animals. We appreciated and took advantage of the outdoor kitchen and enjoyed the lovely view while eating.

The mattress is getting a little tired, not too bad but becoming a little too soft.

Would definitely recommend

The accommodation was like a port in the storm for me. I needed some deep rest and the room gave me just that. The sheets and towels were of exceptional quality and I felt looked after and safe. They made sure I knew how to work the security gate for my early start the next day . Very clear instructions and everything I needed. Really delighted.

Affordable Luxury

Quiet and wonderful country views looking out to Pukekohe Liked the idea of the outdoor area for cooking breakfast which we did for one morning of our stay. Would be a great place for family groups if they are staying in the other rooms. Nice big room with a big bed, and onsuite. We loved it, definitely would come back.

Parking is provided with clear instructions but some guests aren't so good at reading them and so park inconsiderately that they don't allow space for others. Some parking lines on the driveway might help here.

What a place! Wonderful views around the farmlands of the area and a delightful clean and comfortable room. It was such a delight and to at ay here.

Beautiful Stay, But Ruined by No Hot Water

The view was stunning, the place was quiet and comfortable, and everything was tidy and felt very clean. The kitchen was excellent with plenty of food available, and the instructions were very clear.

There was no hot water. We planned to shower right before heading to the airport around 9 a.m., but the water was ice cold. We waited long enough, yet the hot water never came. It was really disappointing and ruined what could have been a perfect experience. We considered speaking with the owner, but since we didn’t have much time before leaving for the airport, and fixing it wouldn’t have been relevant anymore, we decided not to.

Comfortable, peaceful environment and very responsive owner.

Peaceful setting; looking at the animals in the morning; proximity to our daughter, comfortable bed and large bathroom. Appreciated the eggs and toast. The owner was quick to respond and communicated well.

We would like to see better lighting in the bedroom. It was hard to read or make coffee except during daylight hours, and those are short in the winter. Also would recommend a plunger coffeemaker in the room as instant coffee is not used by Americans, and it was difficult to operate the espresso machine consistently, not being familiar with it.

Beautiful Bycroft Lodge

Bycroft is a beautifully appointed lodge offering privacy and is a stunning location. It was a whistle stop to attend a function and we had to leave early the next morning so didn't get to enjoy the lovely environment as much as we would have liked. Everything about our rooms was perfectly comfortable and much appreciated. It was a pity we didn't have time to enjoy breakfast. A big thank you to our host, I will definitely recommend Bycroft Lodge and stay again if the opportunity arises.

Very peaceful

The room was beautiful and quiet and the shower was amazing.

There were some interesting parking strategies by guests, we were fortunate we were only dropping off our bags as poor parking had resulted in there not being any more room to park.

Beautiful idyllic country escape

We loved this properly. It was great location for the airport and it was immersed in countryside fields with cows and alpacas surrounding it. Really relaxing and lovely homely feel. The only issues we found was that our toilet wasn’t working properly for the duration of our stay (1 night) but we did let them know quite late in evening so they wouldn’t have had a chance to fix it until the following day. The only other thing is that the kitchen is outdoors, so there were some what looked like mouse droppings in the cutlery drawer, which was a bit off putting, but bound to happen in an outdoor kitchen and just needed a clean. The fridge was really well stocked as was the kitchen in general. We thought this place was so beautiful and would love to stay again on our next trip to Karaka.

Quite Stopover

Lovely room with country views. The room was very comfortable and well serviced. Great stop over for us heading south without the bustle of a big city. There are no food outlets close to property, but only a short run into town to get something.

Lovely, peaceful location, not too far off the motorway. Instructions for access were emailed and very clear. The challet was spotlessly clean. Lovely comfy bed and big, well appointed bathroom. We had a lovely relaxing stay and would look to book again when next in the area.

Charming and comfortable room in a quiet rural setting

The size of the room. The comfort of bed and couches. The quietness of the rural setting.The fact that we could bring our dog.

Fridge was dirty/mouldy. Very nice coffee machine but in common kitchen (has to go outside on a rainy day), smaller coffee in the kitchenette would have been nice.
