The gentleman who runs the hotel and serves breakfast - he did introduce himself but I forget his name - could not have been kinder or more attentive. He made us extremely welcome and we coped with the language barrier - my Italian is very limited - with grace and good humour. I would strongly recommend this hotel, which is not in Volterra but is a few km outside at Saline Di Volterra. Much easier car parking!
Evening meal service could be chaotic, and we were unlucky to find ourselves next to smokers on each evening. The restaurant is next to a busy road, so it is noisy from the traffic.

Prachtige omgeving, goed ontbijt. Leuk personeel.
