Met expectations, easy booking, friendly staff

Pool / sauna / steam room could do with an update - nothing wrong with them just looking a bit jaded. Could not turn off radiators in room. Appeared to be on timers but temperature could not be adjusted.

The hotel’s location, friendly reception staff, and clean room were appreciated.

The restaurant experience was very poor. Despite booking for 6.30pm and ordering promptly, we faced repeated delays and were eventually told—after an hour—that one of our chosen dishes was unavailable. Although one meal was removed from the bill, the food quality was disappointing, and it was clear the restaurant was overstretched due to other functions at the detriment of hotel guests!

Wensum Valley Hotel, Lovely Staff, Views & Food but needs better facilities for disabled stays.

The Continental and English Breakfasts were delicious. We really enjoyed the fresh yogurt, mixed berries, cereal, toast, the different hot and cold drinks, but the view of the golf course landscape while having our Full English breakfasts was absolutely wonderful.

There is no lift for disabled guests, no personal mini fridge in the rooms and the plug outlets were in the middle of the double bed, which was really awkward for both of us. We also specifically asked for two single beds to be set up which wasn't the case when we arrived. We are family, not a couple.

Good location near to Norwich. Good gold course, pool and driving range.

Food was basic, breakfast very limited options and poor quality. Very dated decor throughout. Very popular for golfers, but that's the main sales point, the hotel itself was basic. We had two bedrooms the 2nd had a tiny window with very little daylight.

For one night only? Acceptable, but could be better.

We were there for a large gathering for dinner. 190 people. The food was more than adequate, presented well and in good time and hot! Not easy, but very well achieved.

The whole establishment is a little underwhelming, insofar as being rather tired in terms of state of decoration and interior design. The bedroom was small, number 10. One tiny window, but that’s just due to its location. The bathroom was pleasant and more modern. The lighting in the bedroom was inadequate for ladies dressing and makeup purposes.

Disappointed, would find alternative in the future and only use as a last resort.

Ample off-road free parking. Good food in the restaurant and fair prices. Sauna, Steam room and Jacuzzi were good also. Swimming pool wasn't massive, but big enough to get some laps in. Room was a good size, and looked clean.

Wi-Fi was non existent, reported to reception, and was a known issue with no real apologies or help. No phone signal either, so couldn't hotspot from phone to do work on laptop. Double bed was 2 singles pushed together, and kept moving apart during the night. Shower was far to powerful literally like having someone aiming a pressure washer at close range, and with the hot water on maximum it was just warm not hot. TV was super small for the size of the room.

Incredibly dated, unclean rooms. Carpet stains, mug stains everywhere in room, musky cigarette smell in corridors and bedroom. Not worth the money.

I didn’t realise it would be full of golfers and the room next to us the guy was talking so loudly until about 4am it was impossible to sleep through. The walls are like paper

Our room was dirty. Coffee stains up both walls either side of bed. Pubic hairs on bathroom floor and dusty in bathroom. Bit run down. Went swimming just all a bit tired looking. Bed was really uncomfortable

Relaxing comfortable and convenient to visit anywhere

Superb food we had an evening meal first class. The only difficulty is if u go for breakfast after 9 am very little left and not topped up. But we are aware a coach trip was staying at the hotel. I Listened to a Manager addressing a member of staff and he was outstanding and handled a new member of staff with courtesy and understanding and instructed a member of staff to accompany an older guest to his room and not to leave until he was settled. He should be commended for his managerial skills. Staff were excellent

Slippery floor around swimming pool no spin dryer for swimming costumes or bags Didn’t see hair dryers. Hallways to bedrooms looked bad but being decorated sign advised. Not sure if lifts and I’m in my 80s and as we were upstairs we may have not checked probably. But it’s homely lovely staff so I would still recommend it with a few tweaks and I’m considering joining. The room was spacious with a lovely view of the Golf Course. The Breakfast was very tasty and well presented. I ate at evenings in the bar and the food was excellent.

Its nothing major but renovations were being undertaken but this did not affect my stay.

The pool area was nice (needed decorating badly but does the job) The restaurant was lovely, breakfast very nice!

Beds very uncomfortable. We asked for a double bed and got given 2 single beds pushed up against each other and held with a sheet. Very dated, a lot of stains in carpets.

Not the best stay

The staff were friendly, the spa was lovely and clean and the bed was comfy

The bedroom we was in was right next to the door that was loud to close. When we went down for breakfast, there was hardly any left (8.35am), other guests were pushing in the line completely filling the plates up. The sausages were grey and undercooked, and I found 2 pieces of hair in my bacon

Seems a lottery which room you get and the quality ranging from view of the golf course to a window not worth having

The much poorer quality room for the same price as a high quality room - room yesterday had two accessible plug sockets so could only have a combination of tv, fan, phone charging or kettle - not great at all for the price

Wouldn’t recommend!

Arrived at 5.30pm for our room, with check in that day anytime from 2pm. We were advised that we hadn’t been allocated a room and that we’d have to wait for one to become available. We eventually got our room, and for £150 for the night it was incredibly basic. Cleanliness of the room was poor, you could tell it was a rush job. Dust everywhere and room and bathroom was dirty. It was not what you’d expect given the price tag charged for that night. Hotel offered compensation the next morning for £50 given the issues, but even at £100 it was not what you’d expect. Basic cleanliness is a must. This was topped off by being woken up early morning by an aerobics class in the gym room below with music blaring and an instructor shouting throughout. Again, staff didn’t advise this would be happening as we wouldn’t have agreed to have a room above that. Not a relaxing stay in anyway shape or form, so wouldn’t recommend.

Location was fine.

Quality of accommodation was disappointing for the cost of the rooms. Extremely dated apart from the bathroom which had been refurbished. Although shower flow very poor. Walls were paper thin could hear conversations in next room. WiFi did not work.
