Small hotel with big heart

Staff were excellent, great breakfast. Hotel is close to everything. Clever use of small spaces.

Rooms, smaller than looked in the photos but clean and comfy. Too noisy outside to leave the window open for fresh air during the night.

Good base for city break

Great base for our 4 night stay in Luxembourg. Close to train station and just a short walk from main areas, tram/bus stops. Clean, modern, recently refurbished rooms. Air conditioning. Comfy big bed and nice shower room. Very good, tasty buffet breakfast with plenty of food/drink options. Fridge and safe in room. Bottles of water provided daily.

Only 1 lift, which was for guest and service use.

Renovated and clean, but in my case too noisy

I liked the proximity to the train station, tram, in the renovated rue de strasbourg. Still not the safest to walk at night but I avoided that.

First night was good, second night AC was on because of heat. Even after turning off mine it was still extremely noisy, I guess from the whole system and other rooms. Also easy to hear showers or people walking close by. I hardly slept at all. I opened the window to hear the noises from outside which was better… unfortunately.

The location was super close to Gare central

It was a clean, comfortable but a fairly basic hotel with minimal lobby or other spaces beside your room. I felt my room was very expensive for a room that was street facing.

Great location, friendly staff, great breakfast.

The location was great (2 min walk to Gare Central Station but also close to tram stops). Only about a 10-15 minute walk to the city centre. The staff were all super friendly. Even though my friends and I booked single rooms, they were still spacious. The breakfast was also above average with a lovely selection. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.

It was a place to rest in an unsafe part of town.

A place to sleep.

Witnessing multiple drug deals and people using drugs on the street directly across from the hotel. The multiple s*x shops and night club less than one block from the hotel. The hotel was, after we asked to leave a day early (after only one night there), refused to allow us to leave (the manager’s decision). This is partly my fault because the reason I gave them for wanting to leave early was to attend an event at another destination (because I didn’t want to be rude or hurt their feelings). I’m not sure telling them how unsafe my family felt by staying there would have made a difference.

Great Location

Comfortable hotel located not far from the main train station. Easy walking distance to all the sights in Luxembourg. Bed was comfortable and breakfast was good. Highly recommend this hotel.

Solo traveler from 🇺🇸

The hotel is conveniently located near the main train station. Most attractions are walking distance. The tram is also nearby, which is free. A variety of restaurants to choose from only a walking distance away.

The room is quite small with little wiggle room. Bed was ok, typical European style. Breakfast is paid separately.

Glad we chose City Hotel

The hotel is located a 5 minute walk from the central train station. Very convenient for an early am departure. Room was clean and comfortable. Reception gentleman was very helpful in providing us with information and directions to different sites of interest.

Clean, Central and friendly staff

Practically across the road from Luxembourg Central Station. Tram stop outside Station will take you to main centre of the city (transport is free). The hotel room was spacious and clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. Plenty of places to eat nearby.

safe place for women

Very huge room! And apparently it won an award for best hotel for women. We felt safe here as to access the entrance of the hotel, it requires a staff to unlock the door.

However, I didn’t have a very restful night as the aircon kept making noises every few hours. If that was fixed, it would definitely be a five star rating.

Excellent stay at the City Hotel

Luxembourg is pricey so we opted to stay near the train station at this hotel. No regrets. The hotel is steps away from the free tram that gets you near all the sights but you can also easily walk. Many restaurants and shops nearby. Room was a decent size and bathroom was quite large. Everything was in working order and clean. Breakfast provided was plentiful and they even had a bottle of Crémant for mimosas. We really loved the city and wished we were able to stay longer...when we return we will not hesitate to rebook this hotel.

Entire street was gutted by construction at the time of our visit but this is not the Hotel's fault it simply made getting there by car and walking in a bit challenging but no big deal. There are a few sketchy characters in the area but I find that to be true near train stations in any city. Never felt unsafe.

Not posh but Good

Breakfast was good, a variety of foods, cereals, fruit, bread and pastries, etc . The rooms were well laid out and clean. There was a lift that went down to the lower level for breakfast as well as up to the room.

No English breakfast tea available, just fruit teas and coffees. A small reception area, with several steps which were difficult to lift your suitcases up.
