The Whispering Pine Lodge

We stayed there for about 4 nights, and it was without question the best stay we have ever had in all of the UK. A helpful young man from the reception kept answering all my calls and questions before i even booked( sadly i forgot his name maybe it’s Rufeen or something he’ll have to excuse me). He even gave me taxi numbers and other information. Everything was perfect when we checked in the view from the room os exceptional and they have floor heating and the nicest staff who go beyond the standards to help you. One very kind waiter was Neil who even gave me his own tripod to help me take a timelapse with my phone. The food was second to none and the chef knew exactly what he was cooking.

Maybe the daily cleaning of rooms although they did clean but one day wasn’t the best clean before we told the receptionist who asked the team to clean the room again.

Loved the attention to detail. Superb accommodation & friendly staff. Afternoon tea. Food was great. Sitting outside eating Pizza and Pork belly. Playing games in the bar. Awesome views and the lights on the lodge at night.

Busy road and it’s expensive.

Great location Traditional decor - lots of charm Friendly staff Dinner menu varied but mostly curry based. Great breakfast. Good selection of non-alcoholic drinks

Very uncomfortable bed - spring mattress - needs to be replaced asap. Not good enough when charging over £300 a night. Dinner service was quite chaotic and any dietary adjustments didnt seem to be liked. I asked for ice cream as the cream contained alcohol. I thought this was an easy swap but the chef said no. As soon as we decided not to have pudding, the request was suddenly possible. Expensive food -£80 for 2 mains, one dessert and 2 drinks. Room felt basic for the cost No warning about having to book a time for dinner or breakfast - guests should be warned before if no availability. We were originally told there was no room until 8pm and again as soon as i queried it there was suddenly a table at 7pm.
