Good value for money if you’re just after 1 or 2 nights respite from camping, room was big and clean and close by to som

It was the cheapest place in the area so if you’re looking for just one or two nights then this is fine as you’re close enough to snowdon and some waterfalls to stay entertained but I wouldn’t stay any longer than two nights. It had a big carpark and allowed dogs so that was the reason we stayed.

It felt quite empty, no one on reception or monitoring front entrance, our room was up about 5 flights of stairs along a long corridor down more stairs and right at the end, felt like a labyrinth and a whole workout if we forgot something from the car.

We did not take breakfast that was included in our stay as we were so cold and felt poorly and depressed after not sleeping all night.

Everything. The stay was not good from start to finish. Didn’t feel comfortable there at all. Miserable.

Ok hotel on the cheaper side

The breakfast was abundant and nicely cooked, although quite oily. The staff was friendly and accommodated for our late arrival, which was very kind. An overall positive experience considering the low price.

The breakfast room could definitely do with some improving - fake flowers, loud music, terrible lighting. The bed was quite springy and pillows uncomfortable. We tried showering at 11pm but there seemed to be no hot water. The following morning we eventually got hot water, after quite a long wait.

Avoid at all costs

The breakfast was nice, that was where it ended.

The room was cold, I asked for a heater or the heating to go on twice. Both times I was fobbed off and told the heating would be on soon, it never came on. We were told at check in no need to book a table for dinner, then at dinner we were told there was no space unless we had booked, unless we wanted to go into the bar and eat which was full of young, drunk football fans. The room had cobwebs, furniture old and dirty, carpets grim. Also to top off the stay, soap in the bathroom was opened and used, there must have been a security seal on the toilet, this was in the bin and there was a banana peel in the bin. We got the distinct feeling somebody had rejected our room earlier after spending some time in it and been moved.

Disappointing- look elsewhere

The location has a stunning view beside the river and good size beer garden and parking. The breakfast is excellent too. The bathroom unsuited was newly refurbished and very stylish and modern.

This could be an amazing top hotel but is disappointing from basic things. The reception was far from welcoming. No smile or friendly approach and a very antiquated manual paper approach to sign in. Not the best start. The bedrooms have been renovated by painting one wall. Literally slapping a matt colour on. This was pretty amateur and lacked style. Old furniture can be great but old cheap furniture was also not great. The bed was a spring design that was really uncomfortable and clearly not been changed for a long time or again very cheap. A good sleep is mandatory for customers and having good mattresses should be a priority. There were good facilities such as an iron and decent miniature toiletries provided. However, the new bathroom failed to function as there was literally no hot water for a morning showered. The water wasn't luke warm, it was cold!!!!! I ran it for while on different settings and gave up. This is unacceptable for any hotel. The good is advisable decent so as we arrived on a Sunday at 15:20 we decided to have a roast dinner. However the lunchtime had finished before 3pm and only bar food - excluding roast dinner was served after 5pm. They are missing out on significant trade and we were let down they finished Sunday lunchtimes so early. There was a fantastic server for breakfast but even when we left there was no comment at all and we had been pleasant throughout our stay without any complaints. I would recommend NOT to stay here.

Great location for Snowdon, with plenty of free parking.

Comfortable bar with cask ale, attentive bar staff and friendly locals. Delicious Welsh breakfast cooked whilst we waited. The choice of dinner options was excellent and interesting, with some tasty Indian dishes offered alongside traditional pub grub.

The carpets in the public areas and hotel corridors could do with freshening up.

Below average not a 3 star hotel

Location was good and breakfast was quite nice. Good bar area to meet family and plenty of room to park.

Hotel was run down, dirty worn carpets, bodged diy and tired old furniture. Shower in room took 15 to run hot water and grouting black in areas. Cup and saucer in room was dirty!! Handrail of main staircase was sticky to touch. Arrived back late from wedding and key fib to get in didn’t work 🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️

There was a hairdryer in the room!

very sticky and dirty carpets in breakfast room, also table at dinner sticky. black mould in the shower. There was a light outside the room, couldn't tell if it was from the hotel or not, but it flooded the room with light all night and the curtains were no good at blocking this out. With the very lumpy mattress we did not have much sleep at all. Overall cleanliness not good.

A friendly and welcoming hotel but in need of an upgrade

Good central location with adequate parking. This is a family owned hotel and the staff were friendly and helpful. The evening meal was good pub food and there is also a range of Indian food available. There was a good cooked breakfast in the morning.

The building is old and the furnishings and carpets are very tired and overall it is in need of an upgrade. The water pressure in the shower was very low. Only 2 hangers in the wardrobe. Would have liked some fresh fruit and marmalade at breakfast time.

The room was disgusting. It was not clean. There were marks all over the walls and the ceiling. It was dirty. Skirting boards covered in dust. Dust on the toilet roll holder. Could not eat in the hotel as the cleanliness was not anywhere near adequate. Could not wait to check out.

Mediocre Hotel

The hotel is a very good base for touring Snowdonia with easy access to major road links. Free parking was a bonus with disabled parking as well. We had a room with a view, which was nice. The bar, in fact they have 2 bars was good and a great breakfast, but no orange juice.

Didn't like the fact the decor was still set in the 1950s, it was very dated indeed, Hotel needs new carpets throughout, a paint job wouldn't go a miss either, mould on the ceiling in the bathroom due to no extractor fan and mould in the grouting, basin was cracked in 5 places, the push plug didn't work and the water too ages to drain away. Room furniture is 1950s and needs desperately to be upgraded. No air con either. Also the curtains could have been blackout ones. Definitely a deep clean of the whole hotel wouldn't go a miss either.

The staff were all friendly. Had to find one to check in but wasn't a big deal. The room was spacious. Bed was comfy. The breakfast was fantastic. Good to get a fan (although had to clean it)

Shower wasn't easy to use and once red hot seemed to stay that way. Tv is pretty small. Fan gave out no air until I cleaned it.

We had a family room for a couple but there were 3 separate bedrooms, a bathroom plus a separate loo. The breakfasts were brilliant and really helpful staff.

The place could do with a full refurbishment. Bathroom was very mouldy and shower not working properly. Carpet very old and dusty, the rooms just looked very tired. The bed was very uncomfortable and slats broken.
