Depressing

It was cozy. But there were plenty rooms available and we still had to sleep in twin beds and lug our luggage all the way to the top.

No toilet paper. At all. There were plenty of rooms available but we were still given two separate beds at the very top of the house.

Fabulous find

Kyra was very friendly and welcoming. The room was clean and comfortable. A short walk from the centre of Southampton with free parking and a cute breakfast.

Great location near the train/bus station, walkable. While the bathroom was in the hall, it was right outside our door. Breakfast was cold but very good. Coffee and tea were served. Grocery store nearby.

Friendly, helpful, and value for money. What's not to like.

Friendly, helpful, owner. Nothing was to much trouble this is what the national brands cannot match. I highly recommend this guest house to anybody, it's home from home. The rooms were very clean and tidy and I slept so well. The breakfast has such a healthy choice rather than the usual fry up. Location is just right for the city. This place is a jewel in Southampton.

Miserable, felt ripped off for the price paid.

The room was dirty, bed linen torn to shreds (matress topper) shower hit & miss, breakfast sparse, no cooked breakfast, the whole place is grossly overpriced, I should have read reviews, Atlantic Gate hotel, 4stars top class hotel, cooked breakfast £15 a night cheaper.

I got the impression the owner was running the hotel for pin money

The owner was the most detached service person I have had to deal with. She obviously has no interest in us or her business. She didn't ask one personal question even regarding our stay, why we were there? or did we enjoy our holiday etc I felt rushed by her. Breakfast was only continental which she served in her pajamas and we had to state a certain time to eat and was not given a time frame. It should be stated at the time of booking that it is not a cooked breakfast as this was a big disappointment to us. The coffee was cheap tasting and once she had poured it we never saw her again. I thought it would be a home from home experience. There was a shared bathroom which was really cold with the window being kept opened. The shower was cold and at 7.50 I went to the toilet and sat down on to a wet seat which contained bleach. The bathroom was as cold as the owner. She did allow early check in.

£80 for two small twin beds and thin mattresses and no cooked breakfast worked out expensive.The bedroom door kept getting caught up in the mechanisms above the door and was so heavy I struggled to open it. Very noisy up until 12 from B&B opposite and pedestrian traffic off to party/celebrate. The hotel only had us in it so we could have been given a different room. It wasn't the worst place I have stayed in but it wasn't a warm reception and clinical.

When booked was expecting a cooked breakfast, it was cereals and fruit salad bowl cereal bars fruit juice and croissants

Sat nav kept taking passed the guest house as the road leading to the B/B had been shut off at the beginning of the year to make it into a pedestrian walk way, could have been informed by owner before arriving

Great for what I needed it for. Lovely and clean, great price.

Stayed there before a cruise trip. Easy to find with satnav. Exactly what you need for one night, owner was lovely - let us store our heavy bags in a downstairs room, booked us a taxi to take us to the terminal the next morning. Place was spotless and breakfast was lovely.

Not en suite but I knew that when booking but if that is something you care about just be aware that most of the rooms and not ensuite

We stayed one night before watching a show at the mayflower theatre. The host is in a great location to the theatre and our host was so welcoming, friendly and accommodating.

Lovely place, great for city centre

The location was excellent. Short walk from train station then short walk into town. We were cruising the following day, and advised a taxi would be the best option. However, we decided to take a walk to the terminal via the centre and it was all totally accessible and enjoyable, took about 40 mins. The breakfast was lovely and so well presented. Sad we only had one night there, but if we return to Southampton, we will definitely stay again

Owner was great. Breakfast was good for a continental. Tables were served quickly and was really nice.

Room was extremely stuffy and windows were locked. The bedding was not comfortable. Shared bathroom which I did not realize until we arrived!
