The room , the outdoor area and the pool , feel so homey

The entrance in a quiet unremarkable side street hides a small luxury hotel beyond. You are greeted by a large impressive reception area which sets the standard for the rest of the hotel, extensive well planted and tended gardens, a large free form pool, lovely restaurant area, and then the rooms. Only 25 rooms well spread out, the poolside ones with a winding carp filled stream outside and pool villas behind tall walls. Our Lotus pool villa was excellent. Large bedroom, large outdoor bathroom area, lounge/kitchen with fridge and even basic cooking facilities and the highlight pool external sunbathing area. Not a small plunge pool but a decent size. If you want a longer swim the large communal pool was never busy. The service was impeccable. From check in to the breakfast service and dinner one evening all staff were ex-cellent. The hotel is less than 10 minutes walk to the busy shopping and restaurants area. For beaches you really need to go 15 minutes by motorbike to Tanjung An or, in the opposite direction, 20 minutes to Mawun. The hotel arranged our motorbike at a very competitive rate.

The resort was beautiful. Having the tortoises, koi, birds all.around felt very special. The villa was exceptional.

The yoga studio was under maintenance which was a shame. The breakfast could be improved.

Location near Kuta restaurant areas, everything in Kuta was in walking distance. The hotel is in a lush area with idyllic outdoor spaces. Birds and turtles roam the grounds, and large koi fish swim in the ponds between the bungalows. Nice a la carte breakfast.

It’s not really the hotel’s fault, but we had to move to a different hotel after the first night because we could hardly sleep with the nighttime sounds (birds and frogs) carrying into the room. The open-air bathroom seemed exotic when we booked, but in practice it caused problems: in the evenings it filled with salamanders and insects. Geckos also got in—one even stole our hand soap and knocked items off the bathroom counter. The sliding doors of the room had gaps, which allowed various beetles, centipedes, and salamanders to enter. This was our first time with an open-air bathroom, and it will also be our last. That said, it might be part of the charm for some people, so we don’t blame the hotel for it.
