Guesthouse Mare Bar

Нам понравилось все: расположение. Да, не совсем рядом с морем, но и не далеко, чтобы немного походить пешком и посмотреть сам городок. Очень гостеприимная хозяйка. Номер- выше всех похвал: чистый, уютный. В апартаментах, в втором этаже, есть кухня и все кухонные принадлежности. Ими можно пользоваться. В номере был чайник и милые кружки. Тоже очень удобно. Рекомендую однозначно!

We had a wonderful stay at Mare Bar, run by a lovely family who are very responsive to any queries. Our room was on the third floor, and we had a small balcony attached. There was also a bigger shared balcony in front of the room facing the sea; lovely for relaxing and having dinner when the sun went down. The room had a real shower! I say this respectfully; you could hang the shower head up, liberating your hands, and the glass doors closed completely, so that the floor remained completely dry. Foreign travellers to the Balkans would understand what a luxury this is! ;) The double bed was very comfortable, and the top sheet easily covered the entire bed, even though another top sheet was also provided. The air-con was a must for us as it's still very hot and humid in early September. The shared kitchen on the second floor was clean and well equipped. The apartment is in a quiet neighbourhood and only a 10-minute walk to the beach. There are also two supermarkets within a 10-minute walk, Idea and Aroma. The bus stop to go to Stari Bar is more or less across the road from Aroma, close to the roundabout. You can also take the bus on its way to Budva, Kotor, Podgorica, and Tivat outside of Aroma (the buses either go through the Bar Bus station first or originate there). The owners were a delight; super friendly and helpful. The room was a good size with an en-suite, a small balcony and shared kitchen. A short walk to the beach and about 25 mins walk to the town centre. Main bus route nearby also.

It's a cute apartment complex with a good view, personal balconies, enough privacy sharing only the kitchen - which has everything you need for meal prep including some basic condiments like salt, sugar, oil... The hosts were, unlike a lot of people in tye public sector of this country, very nice, welcoming, transparent about everything and very pleasant to talk to. They also comunicated well and clearly even before our arrival which was useful. They handle english, some italian, even slovakian. There's also a bunch of shops within walking distance, even some that don't show up on google maps. Overall it was a very clean and welcoming place for a great price.

The main issue was probably the main light - it sometimes got dimmer which was explained to us as the power grid being overloaded - that also affected the small personal fridge in our apartment that unfortunately started leaking but we resolved that quickly
