Hotel Shirakawa Yunokura

Loved the stay here. Kaisegi Dinner was excellent, private Onsen was fabulous, the views and the location in the valley are amazing, most of all reception service and the politeness and helpfulness of employees was exceptional, if you don't mind the classic charm or are even looking for it like we did it's a 10/10 recommendation.

川の前の立地で、部屋からの展望がとてもよく、リラックスできる時間をもてました。あとは、貸切風呂も使わせていただきましたが、緑も豊富な露天でとても良かったです。

サウナに水風呂があったらより嬉しかったです。それでもとても快適でした。

It was a wonderful true ryokan. It was a very large room with an amazing view overlooking the river. The staff were so kind and hospitable. This included the gentleman who greeted us at check-in (his English was amazing) and he provided us with helpful information about the local trains. Also, this ryokan included a full Japanese breakfast and dinner, which was so authentic and delicious. We had a private tatami room for every meal and the servers were so warm and gracious. Everything was wonderful! We definitely hope to return.

The only thing we wished we could have had was an access to the balcony outside our room. It would have been nice to be able to sit outside and admire the beautiful view.

Onsen

they gave us a room for smokers, but they knew we were with a kid. My daughter found two ashtrays in the room.
