Hotel Shirakawa Yunokura

It was a wonderful true ryokan. It was a very large room with an amazing view overlooking the river. The staff were so kind and hospitable. This included the gentleman who greeted us at check-in (his English was amazing) and he provided us with helpful information about the local trains. Also, this ryokan included a full Japanese breakfast and dinner, which was so authentic and delicious. We had a private tatami room for every meal and the servers were so warm and gracious. Everything was wonderful! We definitely hope to return.

The only thing we wished we could have had was an access to the balcony outside our room. It would have been nice to be able to sit outside and admire the beautiful view.

施設は古い印象を受けましたが、大変清潔で、気持ちよく過ごすことができました。早朝入った大浴場は、窓を覆う木々の緑が目に優しく、川の流れも見下ろせて、ゆったり癒されました。卓球も楽しかったし、料理も美味しくて、とても良い宿でした。

強いていえば、バルコニーがもう少しきれいだと良かったです。窓の外の川や橋を眺める際、汚い部分が目に入ったのが残念でした。

they gave us a room for smokers, but they knew we were with a kid. My daughter found two ashtrays in the room.
