Fabulous Bed and Breakfast accommodation. I don't usually write reviews but I've made an exception for the Lions. The two hosts were superb and couldn't do enough for us. The bedroom room was spotless and we had a lovely huge bathroom with a roll top bath and walk-in shower.. A smashing full English breakfast with fresh fruit as a starter and home made jam for the toast. Linel surviettes! Well worth a diversion off the A1.

Very enjoyable stay.
From the moment we arrived at the property we felt very much at home with the warm welcome from John and later with Pablo, who were both very good company. What a lovely house, very happy with our room and delicious breakfast

The Lions is friendly and classy; a great experience
The proprietors were genuinely friendly, warm, helpful and easy to talk to. The decor was classy and tasteful. There were extra touches like a glass of wine when we arrived; biscuits in the room; good quality toiletries. The full English breakfast was great and we were provided with veggie options and homemade jam. We would unreservedly recommend.

There was a choice of traditional cooked breakfast which is my preference. Breakfast was prompt, cooked to perfection in a period English dinning room. Excellent to consume ones breakfast in a beautiful room filled with quality furniture & art.
There was nothing not to like. I search out smaller privately owned hotels on my many travels across the country. "The Lions" is a fine example of a hotel established in an attractive lovingly restored period property & reflects the owners passion, enthusiasm & hospitality. Socially & aesthetically superior to any of the ghastly large chain organisations on offer.
