Uncomfortable bed. Horrible breakfast. I have stayed there twice now and didn’t have it this time. Buffet breakfast for over £10 not worth it.

Could have been cleaner

For the money you can’t expect much more. The room was a good size.

The floors needed a good hoover. Which then made you think what else hadn’t been cleaned 100%. The smoke detectors has an annoying flashing light every couple of minutes.

The staff were all very helpful and the food was excellent.

I was in Room 36 in the Annex and the TV signal was poor at best and non existent on the night when international football was on BBC2, this needs to be improved.

Our room was a bit dated, but it was clean and comfortable. The car parking was excellent, once we realised it was a public car park , with a voucher for free parking. All the staff we encountered were brilliant, helpful and friendly. The taxi list was very helpful, and worked well. Breakfast was very good, the buffet system was just right

It would have been good to have bar snacks before 6pm, even if just cold snacks. The bathroom could do with updating ( although very clean).

All staff from reception at check in and check out including the kitchen staff and housekeeping were outstanding. Breakfast was self service and plenty of cooked and continental available. Definitely recommend this hotel.

Arrived late, got a quick shower (good power) and went out. Left early next morning for work. So didn't sample the food or drink. Reception staff were very helpful about local area.

Nothing against hotel but it's surrounding buildings aren't in very good condition.

Parking was limited when I arrived. Food was average but again cannot complain for the money which was comparative with the quality.

Decor rather run down... no armchair in bedroom. Breakfast rather disappointing... hot food rather dried up & some items missng. Second day not greeted by any staff (none in dining room) so room no not taken... I went for cold food instead but little choice: just cereal and toast.

Comfortable bed, quiet location, friendly staff, and on-site parking. The room was clean and presentable, with a good amount of space. Simple and functional. I liked the personal touch, even to the manager cooking poached eggs for me himself.

I think there has been a change in approach over the years. There seemed to be fewer staff, with very few visible, considering it was a bank holiday weekend. When I last stayed a few years ago, hot breakfasts were cooked fresh to order rather than offered in a buffet-style as it is now. This all left me concerned about the future of the hotel, especially given how tired it looked in areas and with storage openly visible to guests.

Comfortable stay, friendly helpful staff, very convenient location for my need to visit Newark Marina.

The room was tiny the bed seemed old rooms didn't match the photos. They put my husband on the 3rd floor just had a knee replacement. No lift

The ease of access at the front and the wide entrance. The large bedrooms and the shower room were excellent. I loved that staff were around the building and available at times I needed them. They offered to help. No end.

I can only think there isn’t a lift. I was up plenty of stairs. Being an older building perhaps this isn’t possible having said this the staff carried my trolley upstairs for me so kindly. Apologies. I had some photos of your hotel as it was so lovely. But they have been deleted by someone unhelpfully.

A good experience. Clean hotel room. Perfect for a short stay.

Rooms abit dated

It close to where we wanted to be and that is the only positive thing we can say about it

Beds too small and duvets even smaller and thin. Mattress old and very uncomfortable, Rooms cold. I managed a total of 3 hours sleep over 3 nights. Temperature control on hot water was none existent due to age of the system. We will never stay there again.

The room was not properly cleaned before hand. The toilet had been used but cleaning staff left it so I had to get rid of the number 2 💩 with 3 flushes. Not impressed.

The room was absolutely filthy , only seeing how truly disgusting in the light of day . Dirty bathroom , random pubic hair , grime . Absolute hovel . The staff at breakfast, we had ordered a room call for 9am and the woman barked at us that she called us twice as we got to breakfast at 915am. The phone in the room was dead so that’s why we didn’t get a call . The breakfast was THE WORST I’ve ever had . I asked for well done FRIED eggs. These were done in an oven and I could barely saw into the leather like skin that encased those obliterated yolks . The continental selection was pathetic and stale . Partner had the full English and his egg was snotty and he would truly eat anything but even he couldn’t manage it . We get back to the room opened the curtains and truly saw how disgustingly filthy this place was . The headboard has more dna on it than a crime scene including what looked like blood splatters and Lord only knows what else . The rest of the room was awful too , filthy. Never slept in a bed so uncomfortable either . I really couldn’t wait to come home and de-flea myself. Environmental health need to seriously check this place . It’s dirty , it’s damp , the bathroom has a big damp patch on the floor so it has a constant smell of mildew . The walls they have painted over damp so it’s all bubbled . It’s truly disgusting . Whole room was a shambles . Should be renamed the worst western definitely . Retrain your staff because if a chef hates their job that much that they oven cook a fried egg then that’s a major issue ( and it wasn’t busy either , can now see why) the woman who greeted us for breakfast was rude . The phone didn’t work. We expected a call and nothing . Hence the lateness . Asked where my toast was was told to make it myself and pointed , new table come in and there’s was served to them . So she definitely was rude for something that wasn’t our doing.

Everything needs improving . The absolute lack of cleanliness is beyond comprehension and I’ve stayed in a hostel . This is by far the WORST place I’ve ever had the misfortune of staying . Avoid at all costs

Location, friendly and helpful staff, very good breakfast. The room and shower room were both clean.

The room was very small, and the old sash window let in a cold draught. The soiled pair of socks under the wardrobe were a surprise. Perhaps the housekeeper should carry out a proper check in future.

Room stank of cigarettes even though sash window had been left open in freezing cold weather. Room was so small I had to portable fan in ensure. Walls so thin i could hear next doors conversation

Honestly apart from one lady Member of staff and the location would never stay here again would rather sleep in my car at least it would be clean

The rooms are tired but do you know I could live with this but not to have your room made up and when it is they just make the bed and do not empty the bins clean the bathroom just put the duvet back over I could do this myself and did the first night when they did not even do this.
