We would be happy to return to this location. Bologna is a fabulous city to visit.

The building was located in a very smart road. It was half of a stylish 1920s villa. It good condition with many original features and furniture of the time. The room (one of 5) we had was of a good size with a decent ensuite bathroom. The whole building was warm from an efficient central heating system. There were accessible dining and kitchen facilities in a communal ground floor area. Shops, bars and restaurants all close by. The centre of Bologna was a n easy 20 min walk away.

Beautiful old house in well located area. Private and gorgeous room. Own bathroom with great facilities. Breakfast was homemade and delicious. The owner also kindly let us leave our bags on check out day so we could explore the city hands free!

I would definitely stay again if I come back to Bologna. The king size bed with twin size bed was perfect for my 2 adult

It was easy to get to and had a parking spot I was able to reserve in advance. I really liked all the character in the house and the large windows in the bedroom. We had a king size bed and a small twin in the corner that were very comfortable. It was quiet even with other guests there and the breakfast was very nice in the morning. I appreciated the friendly staff and beautiful house. The room and bathroom were very clean and charming.

Great location, house, comfortable stay.

Though only 3 selections for breakfast, 2 of the 3 were good. The English breakfast and porridge (with added cinnamon) were very good.

Porridge preparation was different between the 2 members of staff that prepared the meals during our stay. With the cinnamon it was excellent, but without it wasn't very good. Waffles were not very good.

Generous, helpful and pretty.

I don't usually shower praise or write reviews, but 4 Gatti deserves my time. This is a beautiful, generous house to stay in, where you can actually feel like a guest, and not just another tourist who is shuffled through. I was there with my husband and two 6 year olds. The house and garden was a great place to retreat to in the heat of the day, and the staff were kind and helpful.

We want to stay again.

We liked the style and ambience, the service for breakfast, the use of the garden and other facilities.

We were a bit tired when we arrived late and took some time to work out how to use the fob, but the owner was very responsive and helpful on the phone.

A super cosy home away from home in Bologna

The guesthouse is beautifully decorated and located in a classic building in a beautiful verdant street, with a gorgeous garden. The staff is very friendly and helpful and even though we only stayed for two nights, we really felt at home. The neighbourhood is also nice, it's quiet and relaxed and about a 20 minute walk to the Centro Storico through a porticoed street (Via Saragozza). If you go the other way you can find the walkway up to the San Luca Sanctuary, with great views on Bologna. There's also plenty of great food nearby.

The airconditioning in the room was very weak, we had it on max and it still struggled to get the room temperature below 26 °C. With the heat outside this wasn't great, our infant daughter was drenched in sweat at the end of the night.

If you are looking for a really authentic Italian place to stay i strongly doubt you will find beter

Very authentic Italian guest house. Absolutely what we wanted. Very relaxing.

Only problem was insect bites in the garden which would probably not have been a problem if we had used insect repellent from first day.

Beautiful hotel located close to the centre of Bologna

The location of this hotel is perfect, its a 20 min walk to the centre of the old town which is great! The property itself is a beautiful old house with many quirky features, it was super clean and comfortable! The breakfast was great - my husband hasnt stopped raving about the scrambled eggs!!

It is a good and simple place for a two days visit to Bologna

Very good and quiet location, perfect for visiting Bologna. Rooms and bathroom were ok, with enough room for luggage

Being a rather old (even if very nice!) building (liberty villa), we found the maintenance just fair, with the common area a collection of different tools and some smell of humidity.

Great city. Lovely stylised house.

Breakfast was good. We liked the style of the house.the location was nice. The host was very nice he gave some tips on where to go. Bologna is a very nice city, it's very scenic and has awesome culture.

You're waking up at 8am. Its very noisy, front door slamming, kitchen noise, non carpeted hard floors, showers, school opposite, it's all very noisy. We didn't realise the bathroom wasn't an ensuite. it was advertised as a private bathroom. We were given a key to a bathroom down the hall. The wifi was very very slow.

The stay was great and comfortable, especially with the breakfast.

The breakfast was great with a good selection in the menu. All options were delicious and freshly prepared in the kitchen by the staff, which was nice. The juice was also tasty. The location of the guesthouse is also good since it is not far from Bologna centre, which is easily reachable by bus (circa. 15 minute ride).

There could maybe be some kind of mini fridge in the rooms and maybe soundproof doors (but I am not sure whether that's possible). There was also a slight gap in the door which was visible from the outside, so maybe that needs to be fixed for privacy reasons (but it didn't bother us that much). Otherwise everything was fine.

Would definitely not recommend staying here.

Not much

Being a guest house does not give the owners the latitude to not update the furniture, landscape or clean the property. Furniture was very outdated and plot of unkept backyard was awful. Chairs with no tables and needed basic landscaping. This would not require money just time and care. We have used Bookings.com for years and traveled extensively throughout Europe and this was the worst. They advertise their 9.1 rating that was in 2016 and this is not a representation of the property. The exterior of the home had no lighting as you entered the staircase at night and could easily trip & fall as you climb the staircase and no interior lights turned on when you entered inside. The bedding did not ooze with charm or comfort. It looked camp like. While the staff was friendly, they changed everyday and the person on the day when we arrived, thought we were coming in the next day. There was one staff member, Andrea who had knowledge of the area but when we asked the others, they were unfamiliar with the transportation system. The house was not in a convenient location and it was a 1.3 mile walk into the main town area where most of the restaurants and tourist area are We never saw any one person use the first floor living room to sit and chat as it was cluttered. Total disappointment.

Great location in a beautiful city. Not for light sleepers.

Our room was very clean and well maintained with access to a private bathroom with modern amenities. The staff was accommodating and friendly, and we really enjoyed the neighborhood. Great restaurant recommendations from the host as well.

While my partner was fine with the sleeping situation, I found the pillows uncomfortable. Pillows aside, the main issue we had with this space was the lack of sound control. You can hear everything happening on other floors and rooms. The doors make a lot of noise which isn't an issue until other guests are coming and going late in the evening.

Great villa, but there is one thing

I really liked the location and the house itself. The owner of the house is very polite and friendly. responded to our requests

Mmmm. There was one annoying moment. We made our choice at the villa due to the good breakfast reviews. But it turned out in reality that the breakfast did not match the reviews. In general, we were hungry 😔 And it spoiled the impression a little.

Had a great stay here, loved the outside area (minus the mozzies!). The hosts were great, and very helpful. Our room was really comfortable but a bit hot. Shared bathrooms were always clean.
