The staff were lovely, the room had everything you would require.
Very clean.
Short walk to train station to go to Edinburgh for day trips.
The room for dining with your own food was a terrific idea, fully equipped with utensils and microwave, etc. Decore was beautiful.
Delicious hot food takeaway and bakery a 1 min walk away.
Our room was upstairs, came with cheeky seagulls on the roof, loved that!
A gorgeous, welcoming home.
Parking was large, well sealed and close to the front door.
Nothing would definitely come again.

The one thing that struck me was how quiet it was! I felt bad for even talking out loud and not in a whisper! It was also very clean and the staff was super friendly!
They don’t let you bring food to the rooms, and instead there is a communal dining area. I enjoyed however that they had lots of dishes and silverware to use, as well as a communal fridge and microwave.

I use The Boreland on a regular basis because I can depend on it for comfort. It is within walking distance to the railway station and easy access to Edinburgh.

I was travelling by a later train, and so was pleased that I could easily book in even though it was nearly 10pm. It was a quick and easy walk from the station. I thought the lack of a cooked breakfast might be a problem, but in the event I found the dining room was fully equipped with breakfast pots & equipment so it was no problem in the morning to make myself an adequate small meal (there was even milk in the fridge).
My room was a bit small but perfectly comfortable and adequate for my one night stay. If I were staying longer I would have liked access to the lounge (the bar was of course locked up). The Hotel should consider how it markets the breakfast room - I accept that they no longer wish to provide cooked meals, but with all the facilities still there, they might like to promote 'self catering' as an option (the hotel perhaps providing basic foods ie milk, bread, jams etc)
