We asked for a view of the bridge, it was better than we could have hoped for (top floor). The lady who welcomed us (Louise?) was really helpful and kind. She offered us an extra heater in case we were cold (we weren’t). Cosy place, not fancy but characterful and nice. We thought about staying for pub grub dinner too but no real ales available when we were there. Good coffee and bakery available next door for breakfast.

Location, my room overlooked the water and glorious bridges. The room was 2 floors above the pub, couldn’t hear a peep from the room. The owner allowed me to park on the car park at the rear, which saved a lot of messing about with parking machines.
The room was quite hot in the night, even during the stay in February as the room radiator was always on. The sash window fully open made it better, and with a lively sound of the waves right outside.

View of forth rail bridge and estuary
£200 a night and no breakfast. This wasn't a hotel it was an old pub for the locals offering some accommodation. On closer inspection the shower cubicle ceiling had a skim of mould, chain on wash basin plug broken. Domestic style electric shower. The outside rear of the building was tatty and dilapidated.
