We were satisfied

Due to lift renovations at Andersen Boutique Hotel, we stayed at Absalon Hotel, located directly opposite. The staff were friendly and the facilities were excellent. They stored our luggage free of charge until check-in time and after check-out. The location was excellent, the room was sufficiently large and clean. As there was a change of hotel, they gifted us a larger room and one bar voucher per person per day. The breakfast was adequate and varied. The rooms were warm. If I were to return there, I would choose the same hotel.

The breakfast was good, but it was always the same variety; it could be a bit more varied. There were no slippers in the room, and the hygiene kits were incomplete. Also, they were unaware that our hotel had been changed and that they would provide bar vouchers; we had to remind them. Other than that, there was nothing negative.

Wonderful and welcoming hotel with great breakfast, location, and amenities

Breakfast was fantastic! We also enjoyed the wine hour, water and coffee stations, and plush robes. We took advantage of the room clean waiver and had drinks across the street. Loved the vibes at this hotel and the lounge.

We almost tripped several times on the elevated bathroom step, and the bathroom floor was always wet because the shower door doesn’t extend far enough to keep the shower water contained.

A lovely hotel that I would be happy to use again

This hotel is not part of a large international chain. It is 3rd generation family owned. The staff are from everywhere and several languages are spoken but they are both friendly and professional as well as knowledgeable.

Thoughtful and family friendly hotel with fab location and bountiful breakfast!

Fantastic location close to central station and the very cool ‘Meat packing’ district which contained lots of dining options. Eventhough close to the station it was quiet overnight. Massive kudos to the hotel for making our room available for a very early check in! We were so thankful after an extremely long flight and having x2 kids in tow. Breakfast excellent- many options and all fresh. Lift and stairs access up to rooms. Was a calm, organised, clean and thoroughly enjoyable stay. Able to do own laundry in their ‘sister ‘ hotel across the road without a drama at a very reasonable price which included laundry detergent.

Nice boutique hotel in a great location

Location was perfect, only a short walk from the metro and access to all parts of the city. The staff, who were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent, with plenty of quality food on offer. The wine hour between 5 and 6pm.

The rooms were pretty small and not very well designed. But we weren’t in the room much at all.

Second time at The Anderson and its still a lovely, friendly hotel

Rooms were comfortable and there was a good choice for breakfast, for myself and my vegetarian husband. We liked the choice of opting out of housekeeping. (For a 2 day stay it's not always really needed) There is the opportunity to help knit a scarf which is quirky but nice and wine hour is a also a welcome addition. We have stayed at the Anderson before and the note and gifts to celebrate our honeymoon were an unexpected but kind thought. We would book again when we return next year.

Positive experience but with a few areas for improvement

Lots of positives such as the staff, the overall cleanliness and condition of the facilities, the coffee machine/water fountain in the lobby, the honesty bar, the lobby coziness. Location is convenient but like most large cities, downtown can feel a little sketchy at times. The option to skip room cleaning in exchange for a gift is a great idea but I wish we could use the vouchers at their own bar. Check in/out times are reasonable.

I had an upgraded room but expected more from it in terms of size and overall comfort. Also, despite my request to get a room with a shower stall rather than a bathtub, the bathroom had the shower inside the bathtub which I really didn't like. Who uses a bathtub in a hotel anyway?

Variability in quality of rooms in the same category makes booking here a "hit and miss" proposition

Location was convenient - close to rail, and walking distance to major attractions.

We booked two double rooms. One was as represented on the website, but the other room had a bathroom that was so small as to be practically useless - clearly not the four star standard that the hotel holds itself out to be. The toilet protruded into the shower recess, much like a caravan bathroom. For the price charged, this room was terrible value for money, and uncomfortable.

Great stay accommodating staff

Just completed a 4 night stay and really happy with this hotel. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The room was clean and adequate with a small fridge, air conditioning and nice toiletries. Very quiet at night for restful sleep. They offer a green option and if you opt out of room cleaning offer a 100 dk bar Voucher at sister hotel across the street. A sweet bag, or half off bike rental. They have an honor bar at the hotel. In addition a complimentary glass of an assortment of wines from 1700 to 1800 daily. Nice water station for still and sparkling water. Coffee and small pastries throughout the day. The breakfast was really nice. Hot items and all kinds of fruits breads pastries and cold cuts cheese and vegetables and cereals. We looked forward to it each and every morning. Centrally located near main train station. Multiple restaurants within close proximity as well. A lot of other major tourist spots within a 30 walk. Location felt safe to walk around. Secure luggage area and fitness room available. Nice and inviting lobby and breakfast area. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely return if in Copenhagen.

AN EXCEPTIONALLY FRIENDLY HOTEL

An exceptionally friendly hotel. The hotel has an incredibly kind and trusting attitude toward its guests. At breakfast, no one checks whether the guest has paid. There is no bartender at the bar — guests serve themselves and simply write down what they’ve taken on a piece of paper. On the staircase, there’s a large box of cookies on every floor, and guests are free to take as many as they like. This kind of approach makes guests feel truly great.

The bed was a disgrace, lumpy and sloping badly to the side. The room size for a couple, very small. We had two medium size bags but there was no room to place them anywhere for us to unpack. The breakfast seating was most inadequate and uncomfortable.

We arrived early after a 14 hour overnight flight exhausted and asked if we could check in early however our room wasn't ready so we left our bags and off we went and came back several hours later ten minutes prior to check in and were told our room still wasn't ready and please take a seat. Half an hour later I went to the desk and the girl at reception had forgotten our name and had forgotten to tell us our room was ready.
