The property is very near to the station, easy to find and easy to access with the codes given. The room I stayed in was decorated in what you would call “shabby chic” style, which I love. The bed was super cosy & comfortable (although I prefer a larger duvet with a single bed) and the addition of the fridge & plates/cutlery was a good touch. I didn’t get a breakfast as I was staying over a Sunday, but I have eaten there before and the food is great!
The towels were old and frayed which was a shame, and the handwash & shower gel could have been refilled, rather than replaced with a supermarket brand. A biscuit or two with the tea tray would also have been a nice touch to make guests feel a bit more welcomed.

The location of the property was in perfect location of every event I had planned for my partners birthday. I was extremely happy with everything regarding the room. The room was clean, the bed was so comfortable and the bathroom was lush.
The television was a bit on the small side and could've been a bit bigger, the door could have been more soundproof as we could hear talking as people were getting into the next door room but other than that it was an overall positive stay.

Wonderful shower, comfy bed, warm

The property was very quiet and located well in Bournville. Not too far from the station. We stayed across two rooms. One double, one twin (2 x double beds). The bathrooms were clean. Rooms nice and dark. We all slept very well. We didn't speak or meet the owner but it all went very smoothly, communication on how to enter the properly was very efficient and clear. Would definitely return! The rooms sit above a lovely looking deli/cafe (note it is closed on Sun/Mon).
It's a personal thing but there was a feather duvet on one of the beds - not great for allergy.

Good comms, easy instructions, warm cosy and nicely decorated room
Lack of a shelf in shower room. Lack of a motion sensor night-light for those mid-night trips to the loo

Booked 3 rooms all next to each other. All good size clean rooms with comfortable beds.Nice and warm on arrival. Tea coffee and bathroom essentials provided. Good instructions sent regarding access to property and rooms. Good value for money. Good location for our visit to Cadbury world.
No breakfast on a Sunday but we knew this by researching before hand and brought our own.

Great location and very good value for money
Needs a bit of updating and the bed could do with replacing, very saggy and held up by an old sink

Very comfortable room, warm, clean and exactly what I wanted. Lovely room on the back so quiet and cosy.
Would definitely recommend and stay here again. I didn't sample the breakfast due to time constraints
On road parking in a busy residential area could have been problematic, but I was lucky and got the last available space. Slow draining water was a bit of an issue in the shower.

Location good for my function
Room size good
Good price
I actually didn’t end up staying at the B&B - I left.
As a single female traveller I didn’t feel comfortable with the room and the two ‘Private’ doors. There was no lock on main bedroom door or chain on the room door itself.
Only once you have booked, you get told about 3 PIN codes to add and again as a single female adding in a PIN code on the street then in a dark alleyway where the light activates only once your very near the door didn’t feel great (though I understand people travelling in pairs or for some people they wouldn’t mind this) I feel I needs pointing out for people on their own.
I did ask if I could switch rooms.
Aside from that there were hairs on the pillows and sink and the pillows and mattress were tired and lumpy.
Couldn’t get hot water out the tap and broken wardrobes and side table all wobbly.
I contacted the owner before writing any review just to point out a couple of things that maybe helpful for future but I got an extremely rude response which is a real shame to not be able to accept any constructive criticism

Ideal location for family visits and we were aware of the local area and what it offered.
Although the room was comfortable it isn't accessible friendly as there were 2 flights of stairs. The first flight were not too many steps but were slightly steep, however in keeping with the age of the building so not unexpected. Our room had a further set of stairs, again same issue. Room and facilities plentiful. Sad we didn't get to experience the cafe, due to days we stayed.
One slight critism was one of the pillows on the bed was covered in hair, which we believe was an oversight. Didn't affect sleep as we had a.different pillow.
Lovely attic room with ensuite shower facility.

Location idea for our needs.
The major issue was no heating on what was probably the coldest night of the year. The central heating was not working and the standby electric heater did not work..the first two contact numbers where not answered and the third for maintenance issues was to an employee who couldn’t help. We did leave a message and received a text response but no resolution of the issue. No response to our complaint not even an apology.
I could add to this with door handle missing, unclean shower with black mold and unclean shower glass, bathroom ceiling plaster missing and painted over, ceiling vent hanging down and bedroom curtains not fixed to rail.!!

PRICE!! Size of spacious room, vintage furniture design and nice decor of room, fridge in room, shower facilities, great location, flexibility of arrival times. tea and coffee facilities in the room. Quiet house. Despite no double glazing we weren't disturbed by traffic noise outside. Felt very sage and familiar and close to friends!
The bed was nice and large but rather worn and a bit lumpy, and not so comfortable. A new memory foam mattress would make this stay considerably better!!

I love this little local B&B. It’s warm, cosy, comfortable and entirely unique. Great for a night or two. Lovely individually decorated rooms. fresh cafetière coffee and decent teabags. the cafe downstairs is exceptional. Plus the location in beautiful Bournville is hard to beat. No ‘corporate’ feel here. More homely. And such values for money -

This is our stay of choice when we come to Birmingham, which is why it’s often sold out!
Beautiful, quirky, thoughtful decor & excellent customer service.
I love the cafe downstairs, it’s not open every day but when we have used it , breakfast here has been a lovely start to the day.
Yes I love this place!

Floor had not been hoovered there was a used plaster on the floor and crumbs, dirt, dust and fluff under the window

Modest room but will all you needed for a one night stopover. Easy parking.
Multiple key codes to access. ( three different key pads). I decided to screen shot the message so I could zoom in! But a right faff! Don’t leave your phone in your room you’ll be locked out.

Very spacious room with 2 separate beds. Bathroom is also a good size. Had kettle with tea, coffee, sugar and milk along with clean cups. Owner was prompt in answering my call to help me get in as I had not looked at the email with the codes.
All good only

Lovely room in a convenient location and friendly landlady. Easy self check in and out. Nice to have upgraded room
Noise from road. Fine as I wear earplugs.
5.0 / 10.0
The neatness
The heating system. White towels are better for places like that, not grey or ash color towels.
10.0 / 10.0
Spacious room and excellent shower room, spotlessly clean. The proprietor was very helpful and reassured me that the codes used for access would function easily. They did. The house is a ten minute walk from Bournville station with good sevice to Birmingham New Street.

Good location as very close to work
Felt like a ‘home from home’
The fridge had been turned off after the previous guests had left but still had their open milk and half eaten sandwich left inside. Due to the length of time the fridge had switched off, the items smelt quite strongly
In addition the bin hadn’t been completely emptied as there was a carrot slice left
As comfortable as the hotel is and feels homely. The mattress is becoming thin and could do with a new one.
Finally, the shower is leaking, despite it being fully turned off, the side that controls the temperature has a constant drip, which wastes quite a bit of water!

For the price, the room was very good.
The room had been decorated nicely, but was a bit tired in places.

Convenient location. Helpful and friendly communication from the owner. Spotless room and bathroom. Clear instructions of how to enter through the keycode doors.
The decor is a little dated, but I didn't visit for the furtniture

Nothing.....
The accomodation is extremely tired and dated and not as photographed, there are cobwebs all over the ceiling, furniture is worn and tired, the bed is soft and lumpy, there is a door with the boiler in that doesn't lock and randomly swings open during the night. The carpet is dirty, the bathroom smells musty. In my opinion one of the worst places I've ever stayed and is in more in keeping with the standards I would expect for a hostel.
Booking.com advertise this as a 11am check out but the owner states its a 10am check out, she did meet me half way when raised and allowed me to leave at 10:30.

Breakfast was an additional cost but was heavily discounted from the cafe menu. It was excellent
Unfortunately the property is very tired. It just didn’t feel clean as it was quite cluttered with crockery that clearly hadn’t been used for some time and decoratively nothing has been done for some time. The kitchen area was old and although there was a preparation area there were not any seats or a table to use to sit at either there or in the main room itself. The room was fine to literally sleep in but there was nowhere to sit to eat or drink apart from on the bed. TBH the property would benefit from complete redecoration and more useful furnishing to make it feel cleaner and more comfortable. Dee the owner was very pleasant which makes me feel bad about this review which is intended only to be constructive
8.0 / 10.0
Familiar with the property, which is kept nice, clean and comfortable, especially the lovely bathroom. I picked this property as it is just about manageable to walk to the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital in the morning for admission. A good 40 minutes.
A small fridge is provided with fresh milk, but it was very noisy, and I almost turned it off as it was difficult to sleep. Possibly the pillows are past their best, I didn't like to use the big cushions as they would need cleaning.
