Great location for what we needed. The staff were lovely and friendly.
Bed was very uncomfortable, room wasn’t cleaned the best, breakfast service was slow.

Breakfast was great for the price. My wife was in the QE, so a twenty-five walk , was fine as a location.
Mirror in my room was cracked. Bathroom was a bit small, as I'm a big bloke, but for what I paid, its what I expected.

Was stinking. Not clean at all, rats in the loft, recorded them going mad all night, blinds dont work, bath room full of mould. Smashed mirror , mattress full of stains, Stunk of fags. Pictures look nice but there not

Easy to find and free parling available
No food was available at 6.30. Lights were poor in the room so made working difficult. No side lights. Bathroom mirror still had toothpaste on from last person. Lumpy bed and hard pillows

Location and good parking facilities.
1. Bed mattress very springy, not comfortable at all.
2. Unfortunately the portable room heater was not adequate as the outside temp was -2, the room barely got to comfortable temperature.
3. Check out time is clearly stated as 23:59 on booking confirmation but we were asked to leave at 10:00. I spoke to the Manager and showed him the 23.59 checkout time on the booking and asked him if we could checkout at 13:00 as we had already made other plans but he refused unless we paid £10.00. After some discussions he agreed 12:00 checkout but he threatened to throw us out if we were even a little over 12:00, his tone was aggressive and rude.

kind, helpful staff
This accommodation could be good if more attention were paid to cleaning. Mold can be easily cleaned off with Domestos; there is no need for complicated cleaning agents. You should ensure that the basic necessities are provided in a room:
The broken/incomplete toilet paper holder is disheartening.
There is nowhere to hang wet towels to dry.
There should be at least more than one hanger in the wall recess that serves as a wardrobe.
The sink was clogged; it cleared after plunging, but very disgusting debris floated up. Once again, I recommend using Domestos here.
The bathroom wall is damp and leaking towards the room, causing a health-hazardous smell of mold. It is a shame about the carpet and the small table; they will be ruined.
The Wi-Fi does not work at all.
The batteries in the TV remote were dead.
Upon arrival, the room was freezing cold, and the bathroom remained cold the entire time. If the building is not heated, the whole place will become musty and moldy.
Parking is only available if we are lucky, and I do not feel it is safe.
The tea mugs were unwashed.
Overall, it could be good with a little attention, but as it is, it is very bad."

The staff were so lovely they couldn't do enough for you, absolutely 10/10. The bar lady was so kind she even rang an Uber for me to save me money getting into the town. The lady who cooked my breakfast was also very nice and extremely helpful. The place was clean, I slept very well and it had everything I'd need on such a fantastic budget. 5 stars from me, it was the staff that made this place so memorable x

My second visit. A very pleasant stay, quiet and comfortable. All staff were approachable and helpful. Well-stocked convenience stores opposite and a pleasant walk to Selly Oak through the park.
Upstairs wi-fi not working, but alternative wi-fi was available downstairs. Could do with the main room light being a little brighter.

Location was good for our needs
Cold room, rust and mould everywhere, fixtures needed fixing or replacing, bathroom floor was freezing, noisy guests

For the price it was adequate.
The 2 reasons we booked was that they advertise a dartboard and breakfast, dartboard has been removed and breakfast wasn't available on the first morning. When we arrived there was a function and the bar was really busy, the entire place stank of weed. The rooms are very basic our handle was loose looking like someone had tried to break in previously. The bathroom was terribly mouldy, the floor had a hole in it and there was yellow marks on the towels and cups provided. Overall the whole place needs lots of refurbishment. But I suppose for £25pp per night, I suppose i should have expected it. If you don't care about the standard of the place you are staying, then this will do I suppose.

Was handy for hospital which was our aim. Breakfast was okay, but we had to wait back in the bedroom whilst host went for bacon.
The bed was the worst bed we had ever 'slept' in. Only one light was working, the WiFi didn't work. The room was freezing on arrival, even though we had stated time of arrival. It did warn up with the wall heater. Although in my son's room it was ripped off the wall laying on the floor with an oil heater nearby. Although 2 rooms booked together, they were at opposite ends of corridor.

Budget-friendly, situated in a quiet residential area, accessible by public transportation too.
Room was very cold! The small room heater was on, but it’s not sufficient for the room. Couldn’t sleep well due to that. Mattress was worn out and one could feel the springs! Change the bed or at least, provide a mattress topper on such old mattresses. Mould stains on bathroom ceiling. Cleaning needs to be improved. Dirt all over the carpet in the room.

was in the right place for where we needed to be.
The breakfast was good and value for money.

The check in was seamless. The location and price was just what we needed and the breakfast was outstanding and sooooo cheap.
Unfortunately the bathroom was quite moldy and fixtures broken. The beds were broken at the base causing a dip which made it uncomfortable to sleep and due to there being a party we couldn’t get a space in the car park.

Stayed here while visiting uni. Friday night in club was lively. No noise in room though. Clean bedding and towels supplied. Heater in room. TV worked fine. Shower, although cubicle old clean and worked fine. Door locked fine on room.
The accommodation just needs TLC. Carpets although hoovered are just filthy. Needs new lino in bathroom. Maybe put washable rugs down as a cheaper option. Bed was extremely hard, like a wooden bench. Breakfast was not available in morning so left at 815am.

I had an overnight stay whilst my son was an in patient at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, the hotel was within a short distance to travel. The staff were friendly and check in was quick.
The room was clean and warm and the bed was comfy.
The light in the bathroom was on a motion sensor which could do with being on a longer timer as I was in the shower and all the lights went out and I couldn't see which is a little dangerous.

The staff were very approachable, helpful and dealt very quickly with anything: very professional. The room was clean and comfortable and the shower was efficient. I slept well and, apart from the odd guest who didn't appear to make the effort to close their door quietly, there was little noise. I certainly wasn't disturbed by the bar. I didn't eat there, but the food provision appeared to be good. Replacement of tea, coffee and milk was readily available. There were 2 well-stocked convenience stores and a takeaway opposite the hotel, which was a 25-min walk from Selly Oak High Street. Based on this visit, I would certainly return.
Room wi-fi was temporarily down, but there was another network provided in the communal area and, personally, this didn't inconvenience me. The shower needed to have the sealant reapplied to clean it up and stop a small leak from the shower tray on to the floor. A towel rail would help, especially in the colder months when towels take longer to dry. The bulb in the room ceiling lamp was a little dim, so a bedside lamp would be useful.
3.0 / 10.0
The room was clean, but stuffy; light bulbs were missing from the lights on the ceiling, and no toilet paper in the bathroom. The staff are the bar staff who have no interest in the accommodation.
Quite cosy room, and if you don't mind dead bodies near you, just ignore the cemetery next door

It was in a close area to the centre only a 15min taxi ride.
The room was okay, but dirty, it didn't look like it had been cleaned. The bed was good, but I felt uncomfortable with the beeping that could be heard from the corridor. There was no peep hole and the "night door" was not secure. The toilet and shower were not at a level that I felt comfortable using them.
