The location and the views. Hugh ceilings and plenty of space. Everything we needed . We packed our own fairy lights

Perfect location with great views. Warm and cosy. Homely. Well-equipped kitchen. A decent TV and fast WiFi. A sumptuous Victorian Hotel now split into generous sized apartments with lots of original features. The elevator is a big plus too!

I might not like it in summer though because the Coast Road outside is busy. The property has secondary double glazing to keep the traffic noise out, but you'd want the windows open in summer to access the balcony.

Checking in process.. we followed request not to check in before 17:00hrs and can understand the reasons why. However when we arrived in Saltburn it was 15:30 so we parked car in the car park and walked over to the Spa Hotel and had a couple of drinks while we waited until 17:00hrs. When we walked back to apartment and opened the key safe there was no key in it. I looked through the booking paperwork and phoned a contact number, explained the situation to a guy that it turned out was in Norfolk and he told us somebody would phone us back that night.. so potentially we could of been stood there for hours waiting for a call back.. While we were waiting I found a second contact number in the paperwork and the lady who answered asked me to hold the line while she contacted the housekeeping team, we could here the conversation and the lady on the other end admitted she had forgotten to check to ensure that keys had been replaced in key box but would pop round and let us in and give us keys which she did and we eventually got in just before 18:30hrs. In my opinion expecting a customer to wait around indefinitely for a call back is not good enough and the operators should have a more robust fail safe plan 'B' for guests if the cleaners 'forget' to check that the key is in the box.

Furniture, decor and facilities of the apartment were outdated, but clean. The 2 single beds were small with very poor quality pillow and mattrass. The double bed however, was comfortable and better quality

The ceilings and the chandeliers were beautiful. The location was amazing.

The single beds were very low and uncomfortable. Not really suitable for an adult. It was not at all easy for a person with disabilities.
