Great base for travelling the NC500

Great location right in the middle to access 95% of the surrounding NC500 routes. Only thing we missed was Applecross/Skye due to time travelling. Lovely little cottage, spacious, teen loved having her own room unlike staying in hotels etc. Bathroom well equipped with shower/sink/toilet rolls/ towels. Kitchen well equipped with washer/dryer, microwave, cooker, toaster/kettle, cutlery, pots & pans. Tv works well with basic channels. Cleaning products/tea/coffee/tea-towels etc provided. Parking at front was good to have access too. Gladly stay here again regardless. Stayed for 7 nights overall, great price for the area/ amenities. Petrol station up by Rogart train station had best priced petrol/diesel aside from Tesco’s in Dingwall just an FYI 😊. Loved the brochures on the tv desk too that you can look for ideas nearby. Overall pleasant experience & a lovely break away from normal life.

Some bits need some TLC, broken blinds, door handle loose & single pained so bit noisy (just keep bedroom door pulled to/closed it’s fine) Ground floor flat which unfortunately led to rather heavy footed neighbours upstairs (unsure if fellow guests or owners) but would start early hours of the morning most days, luckily for my fella he had earplugs... Possibly a little guide going forwards with instructions on wifi, kitchen switch appliances, how to use washer/dryer etc. We managed fine but others may struggle if unsure where to look.

Location, big space inside the flat, big bed, full kitchen equipment with even some useful things like salt, oil, butter, sugar, flour, batteries... Great spacy comfy stay. Very good 2bed flat, our baby loved to crawl in it.

All good, so we liked everything. Maybe would be nice to have a dryer for things after washing. There is no tumble dryer and also no special thing to hang wet things on.

Highlands oasis

We loved the location and the cottage was well decorated and very comfortable and clean. Beautiful Scottish touches and art work were appreciated as well. We enjoyed our stay very much and would stay again.

We would have liked a manual or a bit of information about things like the heating, where to find the wifi, what do do with the keys and maybe some suggestions for eating or getting groceries. We figured it all out except the heating. A bread knife would be useful too.

Cannot speak highly enough of this wee flat. Very clean and comfortable with excellent facilities. This was our third stay at the old dairy in the last couple of years and I look forward to the next time.

Jackie was fantastic. On the night before we were due to travel our daughter got a sickness bug (typical)! I messaged Jackie to explain and she was so accommodating and managed to move our booking back by a day, there was no requirement for Jackie to do this but she did, and thanks to this we managed to get away with our 2 kids for the first time in 4 years :) The accommodation itself is really nice, very clean and tidy and a very good location. The Spar across the road is very useful should you fancy cooking etc, or want to grab a few bits. The check in/out process was really easy. We would 100% stay here again. Our girls loved scootering alongside the waterside!

Absolutely amazing

Great stay. The flat is spotless clean, calm area, parking on site, all what you need. Towels, utensils - everything is there. The host communicated everything, we had no issues in reaching the property. If I'm back to Lairg, I will definitely stay here once more! Bonus - amazing Pier restaurant is like 2 min away on foot!

Very pleasant.

Excellent location for exploring Sutherland. Close to Spar late-night grocery store and to Lairg Highland Hotel for excellent food. Comfortable accommodation to relax in at end the end of a long day.

For us personally, the vehicle parking on the frontage was a slight hazard for us on motorcycles, being loose chippings on a slope.. No problem for a car, so fine for most people.

A short but comfortable stay in a great location.

This is a nice little property in a location that was very convenient for us- we were using it to stay over for a few nights before heading on. The property is situated on the lochside in Lairg, with parking conveniently just outside the property. While there we used it as a base to explore Sutherland.

Great location for exploring the far north. Handy chip shop, shop and cafe nearby. We liked the Netflix provided ! Superb kitchen.

The only slight drawback is that there is a flat above and there can be running around during the day & early evening but not late and perfectly quiet at night.

A comfortable short stay in Lairg.

The old dairy is clean and comfortable, with space for a car just outside the property. The kitchen had everything we needed and the living room was comfortable. The location of the property was also very good for us (centrally located in Lairg, just opposite the loch). Overall the property was good value for money and an excellent base for a few days stay.

For the price we paid, complaint would be nitpicking really... the bathroom could be modernised a bit but it was all very clean and functional.

The check-in and out were smooth. Upon entry, we found a neat and clean house and was immaculately prepared. The furniture is modern, beds are comfortable with many pillows. Kitchen has all modern appliances. Wifi is free. There is nearby an excellent cafe The Pier. The location is very convenient to drive to Dunrobin Castle, Tonque, Durness, Lochinver, Ullapool, Loch Assynt. We briefly met the owner, who inquired about our visit and views and seems very friendly and caring. Overall, an outstanding experience and we would recommend highly.
