Affordable accommodation in central Lindau

Close to the centre. Large, spacious kitchen.

Drain in the shower was clogged so I ended up standing in a puddle of water by the end.

Great facilities, could do with better information for check in.

Excellent location close to station and excellent facilities. Large well organised and well equipped kitchen. Large clean bright bedrooms. Laundry room available. Replied quickly to our request about early check in.

We loved this hostel but there are some things that could be improved. Bathrooms not apparently checked or cleaned regularly - one of the ladies wash basins not draining, no soap in ladies bathroom. Staff not evident but there was a note apologising for staff sickness. We couldn’t figure out how to check in with code/ key instructions. In the end we just went upstairs and were lucky to find a member of staff on the desk.

Great hostel, but check-in is a little weird

The location was beautiful and the small size of this hostel combined with low occupancy due to shoulder season gave it a very homey feel that I loved.

The automated check-in process was confusing and I had trouble accessing my pin that had been sent to booking.com. I would much prefer in-person check in with automated check out.

Handy location, pretty island, some check in issues.

Handy location close to the train station. Dorm room is spacious, as is the kitchen. Everything was clean.

My check-in email didn't contain a pin code, but this was needed to get the key. I couldn't get through to anyone on the provided phone number. The reception staff member was leaving work as I arrived, but thankfully another man there was able to help me, and it all got sorted out. So make sure you get a code in advance! There is only a small mini oven and no freezer - good to know before buying your groceries. Showers are on the floor above the dorm room. Several flights of stairs and no lift if you have heavy luggage.

A two minute walk from the train station and really close to the harbour. Lots of nearby food options and close to the supermarket (Rewe). Lovely and helpful staff :)

Great place with great location

The location is ideal being a 4 minute walk from the rail station and 5 min walk into the old town. Everyone has a very cold fridge compartment so Great for chilling a beer (no freezer) Great value for money if you are on a budget.

Although the message made it clear you pick up your key from a box using a code it didn't mention the box is outside on the right of the main door before you enter the building. As no one was on reception I was unable to gain access until a local passed by and showed me the box. This is simple to include in an email.

The room was big enough and I even had an empty room at one night After paying city tax, a free ticket for local train and bus at Bodensee area in Germany was issued which was useful Location was near train station

A simple hostel in a perfect spot

The hotel is right on the island, so it is very close to the boats. The beach is also a few minutes away. There is a shared kitchen for guests and the check-in process can be done by yourself at any time.

The beds aren't numbered and booked, so you just have to pick a random free one, which can cause inconveniences if you arrive at night. If the windows are open, you can hear loud train noises from the station nearby.

Kitchen was clean and had everything you need. Room was very clean and spacious, even had a sink in the room. Also the location was PERFECT!

To shower and go to the bathroom you have to go up one floor and the hallway is freezing and the door locks behind you so you have to make sure you always have your key to the front door

Given the price and location and cleanliness, I assure you that you won't be disappointed.

Very friendly staff, spacious room (even in 8 bed shared room), clean and spacious kitchen, clean bedroom.

The shower uses infrared/motion sensor, so it will stop the water if no motion is detected. Unfortunately, one of the men shower (maybe) has technical trouble, it stops the shower water outlet very briefly.

Had a first ever kind of experience during my stay here. The check in time was 2pm but when I entered the room it wasn't cleaned yet. Which was still okay as I didn't want to stay in the room anyway. Anyways I put my jacket, umbrella and toiletries in the room and left. When I came back in the evening the room was now all cleaned and all my stuff was gone. I called and sent and email to the hostel's contact but didn't receive a reply. I mean I was even thinking of leaving my charger in the room and other things in my backpack and it was just a coincidence that I took them along with me otherwise I literally would have had nothing!! The next morning I talked to the owner who came at the reception and even after multiple calls to cleaning agency etc those things were not located. Seems like they were gone for good. After 2 hours I was given back the money of my stay and an old pullover because it was cold and rainy that day. Was this the right compensation?? Definitely no, I wanted my jacket back it was barely a month old and my toiletries even if were travel size were still expensive brands.

Exceptionally quiet at night

Exceptionally quiet! It is just by the train station so we were not expecting much... but truth to be told, we had our windows open all night, heard absolutely nothing and had the best night sleep during our trip around the lake (my friend is a very light sleeper and he reminds me that quietness until now!). I believe this is due to the location at the island (water blocking all the noise) and luckily the trains are not frequent (we did not hear any).

Given it is a hostel you need to share the bathrooms.

Great place For those on a budget who still want comfort in a clean, friendly and quiet place.

I liked my comfortable, colourful and sunny room. The kitchen/dining area was great so you could cook and have your designated shelf on one of the fridges and the location of the hostel was perfect. I also liked the staff: very charming, friendly and helpful.

Everything was great, so it’s hard to think of something that could be improved, but the internet was a bit too slow: probably typical of Lindau.

- location !! (vis a vis the train station, 100 m. from the ferry port, close to bar, restaurants and ice cream shops) - bike storage room (not more than 7 bikes! Can enter) - huge kitchen

My opinion is ONLY about the dormitory that I booked for 7 people - showers on another floor (one has to go upstairs) - only one toilet at the floor - no separate boxes or lockers for every person sleeping in the dormitory - no privacy at all (bunk beds without curtains) - might be hot during the night (no air con, only one fan) - bed might be too short if you are more than 1 90
