Lovely birthday stay! Conveniently located - close to shops, cafes, restaurants, supermarket and the sites. Very clean room and bathroom. Loved the toasty, warm feeling when coming inside from the cold! The room smelt lovely and is decorated very cosily. It’s a small guest house, so you get the personal touches. Carine and her husband were very friendly. And invited us for a drink at their Parole wine bar which is on site. I highly recommend a visit to the wine bar, it’s very nicely done up.

Nice property and good location, close the the Christmas market and beside in a nice commercial street with a lot of amazing boutique.
The finished and style are great!
I found the room a bit small. I did book a room for one without realizing the bed was a single bed but I found the room a bit small.

Comfy, clean. Great location.
A lot of noise from the people staying upstairs - could hear every time they moved about the room.

Cannot recommend enough, this place was such a beautiful place to stay and felt so luxurious, while being right in the centre of everything. Additionally, the wine bar that it is connected to is wonderful, with a really nice selection of wines and great ambience. And all of this for a very affordable price.
If you aren't familiar with European windows, ask about it; The "doors" can be opened in a way to give a little breeze without being "open", but we had some issues with steam from the shower before we figured that out.

Great location , nice decor, easy guidance to check in. Room nicely decorated . Coffee
Machine was great but no milk.
To get to the location meant dragging suitcases half a mile through the city. You are also basically staying in the back of a bar. Room wasn’t made up while we stayed for the weekend. We Had the ground floor room overlooking court yard it felt very exposed so kept shutters closed. Room was stuffy and towels need replacement as they are not great. Nice enough but we wouldnt stay again . There are nicer options nearby for the money.

A charming hotel room with great interiors and aesthetically pleasing. It is located close to the Belfry tower and the old city. It was perfect for our two day stay in Ghent.

The room had a beautiful interior and was clean, with a large bathroom and modern facilities. The guesthouse is centrally located, and although there were no staff, there was a good level of communication. I was messaged well in advance of the door codes and instructions on how to find the guesthouse. We were also given a free drink in the wine bar, which was a nice touch.

Lovely new room- with modern fittings.
A range of excellent toiletries.
Next door - the owners bar- lovely gin and tonic- which she treated us to!
Good guide of local restaurants in the room folder.

Great location near the centre of Ghent.
Owners were welcoming offering us a glass of wine in their fabulous wine bar next door.
Room was lovely with tea and coffee facilities.
The welcoming email gave us all we needed to enjoy our stay.
Be aware if the wine bar is closed it is hard to find the rooms. We walked past 3 times before noticing the discreet sign. The hotel pictures you see are behind a wooden door.

It was all great and being adjoined to the Parole Bar which is a lovely wine bar with courtyard was a bonus

Nice bathroom and products.
- hard to find. We were not the only guests who had a hard time finding the location. There was another guest who was wandering outside trying to find it as well.
- our room was in chocolat. There is a spiral staircase leading up to the room outside so we had to haul two large pieces of luggage up there ourselves.
- the bed was lumpy and too warm. The room didn’t cool down all night and the ceiling fan kept squeaking constantly so we got no sleep. I messaged the hotel on booking.com explaining the situation and asking for a partial refund but they refused and even said they checked the thermostat and said it was 21c all night - which was untrue because the thermostat was constantly 25c. So we had to move to a different hotel our second night without any compensation.

A small secure well appointed comfortable room for a solo traveller
Don’t be put off by my negative comments as it’s a lovely property with a warm and friendly host and hostess in a perfectly located position to explore the delights of Ghent.
Bonbon room: For me the lighting was too dim (mood lighting). The best light for makeup was in the mirror in the toilet. Because I have claustrophobia I struggled with the lack of light and the need to have the curtains drawn for privacy and the lack of a horizon. All personal problems that some else likely wouldn’t notice
Had I looked further into the placement of the room Bonbon I wouldn’t have booked it. The biggest negative being that it opens onto the courtyard of the Wine Bar where people relax and converse until 11pm. There is no double glazing consequently you are party to others conversations. I had to ask a woman to move her chair so I could get out the door.

I loved everything about this exquisite little hotel. The location is perfect - on a quiet side street in the middle of the historical city center. My room (the bonbon) was absolute perfection. It had a super comfy bed and lots of room to move around. All of the amenities and facilities were exceptional, from the n'espresso coffee maker (with two kinds of pods) to the soaps (better than the high end products I use at home) and the luxurious rain shower, which was one of the nicest I've ever experienced. The toilet was in its own separate room from the shower, on the other side of the bedroom and with its own bespoke sink, a super elegant design touch in an accommodations intended for just one person. Huge floor-to-ceiling windows, which let in a lot of light, opened onto a secluded courtyard in which I only ever saw two other very quiet people for a short period of time. Communication with the host was perfect. (I also had a chance to meet her in person and she is very kind. She even offered to keep the wine bar open late just for me if I wanted, though I would never impose like that.) Independent access to the building and my room was very easy using the information provided to me in advance, and convenient, safe luggage storage is available after (or prior to) check-out, making it perfect for a short stay as well as a long visit. There's no other place I would rather stay in Ghent than here.
Nothing could have been better.

The location was amazing, and the decor was beautiful. The room was immaculate with daily room service, the water pressure in the shower was great, and the bed was so comfortable.
Continued contact with owners was easy.
We were not aware that the ONLY access to our room 'Chocolat' was by a steep outside spiral staircase located in the courtyard. The spiral staircase was extremely difficult to navigate with suitcases, and especially after enjoying the city.
A huge reason we chose this location was because of the Wine Bar, Parole, which is located on the ground floor, sharing the courtyard and mentioned on the hotel website. Parole is closed except for private events.

Bottom line - we can’t wait to stay again!!! Our stay was utterly faultless. Firstly, the communication prior to arrival was great. Secondly, the building itself is perfectly designed, and in a fabulous location. The room was impeccable and had everything we needed with the addition of fabulous and considered design (and great toiletries!). A big tick for the comfy bed and bedding too! The building also has its own wine bar and courtyard which really blew us away, the guys couldn’t have been more welcoming and helpful pointing us towards great places to eat (given it was a Tuesday, very late and we hadn’t booked they pulled it out the bag!), and the generosity and choice of the wine was an added bonus : ). We will MOST DEFINITELY be staying again when we return to Ghent, which hopefully won’t be too long…! Thank you for having us!

On a ten-point scale, this is a solid 100. And my grateful back would add another 50 for the perfect bed and mattress. I didn’t expect to love this room so much, but every little detail – from the colors to the textures – is flawlessly combined. Everything is top quality: the bathroom fixtures, lighting, textiles – absolutely everything. The hosts’ hospitality didn’t surprise me – such refined taste could only belong to genuinely wonderful people.
Everything is great

Excellent location only a short walk to the main areas.
We popped into the wine bar attached and had a lovely experience. We were very kindly given our first drink on the house which was totally unexpected but very much appreciated.
Very comfortable room with everything we needed for one night.
It was not an issue for us at all but if you did want to get to bed before 11pm it might be a tad noisy.

I travelled to Ghent by myself for one day/night. The location of Maison Margo is fantastic, couldn't be better. Maybe good to mention though that it's located next to a Wine Bar and the guests are allowed to sit "in front of your window" until it's 22.30 pm. After that it was instantly quiet. The Wine Bar is really nice as well and the room was nicely furnished. Only the Cleanliness is a 8-9/10, but might be a one time experience. :) It was possible to store the luggage in a room until mine was ready at 3 pm. Very well organised and nice concept with the code instead of a key. All in All I've been happy. Recommendation: YES
Cleanliness - some hairs on the pillows, but nothing that won't be better the next time!

I disliked to have bar tables in the same space of my room entrance e near of my window. I felt I didn't have privacy

I liked everything! Located in the heart of busy city, yet most safe and quiet room . Decor was beautiful and very tasteful. Best bed and shower. Staff was friendly and welcoming. 2 minutes walk from the main street. Can tell, that people who run this place do it with their whole heart. Highly recommend.
