A gorgeous 1678 historic home, with fantastic staff and lovely guests to interact with at breakfast.

Breakfast was amazing--thank you again! All of the staff were lovely, kind, and helpful. Such a beautiful area--Oud-Zuilen--that I reached by bus from the center of Utrecht easily. I would love to return with my family and explore the area more by bicycle.

I didn't realize my room would be in the cellar of the home. The bedroom itself was lovely with a garden view as advertised, but the attached cellar "living room" felt dark and dank with a low ceiling entrance, but I needed to use the sink there to wash my face and brush my teeth. I had no interest in using the sitting area there. I'm not sure if there were other rooms available that I could have requested or whether the rest of the Logement was full. And one evening when I came back to the room, my room door was slightly ajar/open. Nothing was missing from my room, but I had been out all day.

Location. It was on the edge of the city. Located beside the Vecht River. Very picturesque. Love the decor of the room. Convenient for my son to pick me up as he lives locally. Price was reasonable.

Went in June so it was hot that weekend. No air con in my room but that may be because of the nature of the building. However a fan was supplied and it worked well.

Comfortable Stay but do your math when you get the bill.

The staff person who checked us in the first day was very nice and informative. The room was comfortable and clean. The room where breakfast is served is really interesting (in a good way) and open all day. There was covered shelter for our bicycles. There is a lovely garden space in the back of the building.

The staff person who served us breakfast our second morning was not friendly. When we checked out, this person overcharged me. When I returned a few minutes later to explain that she charged us for 6 breakfasts instead of the 4 breakfasts we had, she was not nice. She insisted that she could not refund me immediately back to my card, had no cash to refund me, and would fix the issue later that day. This happened 6 weeks ago. I have contacted the property multiple times using the appropriate booking website requesting the overcharge to be refunded since that date and have not received any monies. The stay was comfortable and I would stay there again but will check the amount carefully BEFORE submitting my card to be charged.

Lovely stay in historic home next to a castle

The room was beautiful, spacious and had a nice view to the garden. It was very quiet, we could not hear what was happening in the other room or outside the property.

The breakfast was a little bit basic. There is plenty of food though, that's not the issue. We stayed at the property in the past and were able to order a warm option (eggs, the way we preferred) but that was not proposed this time. The price remained the same though.

Perfect location to enjoy nature!

We loved the location, hidden amongst the trees and by the river. A perfect weekend getaway! A charming historic little boutique hotel, right by the castle; lovely for an evening walk by the river. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was quite delightful, right in the attic, spacious and comfortable. The breakfast was very nice, fresh bread and coffee and eggs to order. A perfect location for bike riding or enjoying nature. The little restaurant next door was the only option in the evening for dinner, and we were lucky to get in without a resveration, as it was already quire full. The meal there was superb!

Lovely relaxing stay in a romantic location with beautiful views

The location and the building was beautiful! It was a historic building, beautiful decor and easy access to bus 12 and 120. Our hostess Nelly was very hospitable and went the extra mile to make our stay comfortable!

We got the room in the attic and the stairs were a bit steep.

Awesome location, wonderful spaces, delicious breakfast

Swaenenvecht is a little gem along a small river near Utrecht with an amazing interior, friendly and helpful staff, and beautiful scenery. The breakfast was awesome, our room was unique, and the hotel cat let itself be petted without fuss. We had a great (and too short) time!

Nitpick: shower drain was very slow.

A beautiful mature property filled with charmingly bizarre surprises and friendly service

The reception was terrific, we got a tour of this very eccentric and interesting property that's full of strange objects from the past. All the rooms are unique and have their own charms. The breakfast was also fantastic and gave us a really great start to our day. I will definitely be staying again.

A peaceful respite in a fascinating historical location

What a wonderful gem of a place! I booked it on a whim and I'm happy I did, because this has been one of the most enjoyable stays ever. The location is very peaceful and the autumn landscape was absolutely lovely. Not the best connected place, but very quiet and beautiful. And the staff has been exceptionally helpful and nice, from accommodating my very late check-in to just being all-around wonderful and kind people. They gave me a tour of the property, which is fascinating and quirky - I could even go into the unoccupied rooms at my leisure. There is some interesting history there, and I wish I had more time to fully explore this historical building and all its furnishings.

A bit difficult if you don't have your own transportation, as it's quite far from public transport.
