Quite satisfactory overall apart from the bad coffee. The coffee at breakfast was fine.

Customer friendly and efficient. The room was fine and the breakfast was excellent. The restaurant was OK but not exceptional.

I was served a bad coffee at the bar. The barista gave me a cup with some ground coffee in it and a separate little jug of water. After pouring the hot water the coffee was all gritty and I just could not drink it. You do not serve coffee like that. You brew the coffee properly first and then serve it.

Great for a party, less for a sleep.

The room was very nice and the large tub was amazing.

Huge party tent for events next to the hotel. If you actually want to sleep there, good luck. The fact that they have parties until late is advertised nowhere, they don’t tell you… so you just lay in your bed and hope for it to be over. I’m sure this is not an everyday thing. But then again, how would you know

Rather disappointing Van der Valk hotel…

Good bed and nice bathroom, good breakfast.

Wifi did not work, nor did the TV. Staff was not very friendly and seemed to be bothered when I wanted to check in. Toilet had a strong urine smell.

comfortable but expensive for what you get

The hotel itself it very grand looking and the room was large and spacious, the bath and toiletries were lovely too

We enquired about the booking/using the spa facilities at the front desk but were told they weren't sure if they were open, or when it would be open. We went down to the sauna area and there wasn't anyone available on the desk, we stayed for a bit hoping someone would come but unfortunately no one came! The shower was lovely and big in the room but the way it was set up meant the water splashed everywhere making the bathroom very wet! It was a lovely stay, it just didn't feel worth the money we spent on it

A romantic getaway for my boyfriend and I

Very nice and classy! It was a great surprise to visit this hotel and enjoy its facilities! I will be back :) The breakfast was amazing!

The bed could have been more comfortable.. it was a bit slippery because its 2 mattresses joined

The room was spacious and well laid out. Very comprehensive choice at breakfast (which is available from 06:30, great for early travellers). The restaurant had a varied menu. Staff were very helpful.

I booked this hotel for my clients from London for a hiking trip in the High Fence and they absolutely loved it. I am from the region but moved to London in the early 2000s and did not know this hotel, to be fair I do not know much about the region anymore. The staff are great, very helpful and have a very good level of English. check in was easy, the rooms are large and clean and the booking process was easy. We did not eat but the restaurant was full on the first day so book in advance if you want a table. Nice bar area, ambiance and the pool was closed but a nice addition to the hotel. Also about 10 minutes walk from the train station downward, so you don’t need a taxi to reach there. It is located next to a great chocolatier(Darcy) and the main shopping centre so the location cannot be more perfect. Really a good discovery. I had to wait a couple of times for my clients at reception and they were very nice and easy about it. I had a glass of rose wine at the bar, great choice and only 4 euro 50. It is a busy restaurant and bar and yet it was quiet. And on the top of that it was a famous cycling race that weekend and most of the hotel was booked for the cyclists and it was still neat and quiet. I will definitely come back in a few months with other clients and some of those who would like to come back 🙂

Nothing we did not like. Fun enough, they had started with a new IT system and apologised if the check it was taking longer then usual but we had been served in less than 5 minutes for the 2 bookings so really nothing we did not like.

Large hotel, best suited for groups

Great breakfast buffet with lots of choice, available from 6.30. Friendly and efficient service in the restaurant despite a a number of large groups. Overall efficient service.

Very noisy / loud lobby and restaurant. Our room had the beds on a second level, which made it relatively warm/hot in the bed despite cold 'downstairs'. Room was relatively dark with too few lights,

Just all in all it seemed quite old , dirty and outdated

The restaurant was okay

The room was dark. There was hair in the shower. The hallway was smelly and dirty. We visited the pool, there was still towels and drinks from the night before. There were no robes and slippers we could use. Our son picked up an cigaret trash in the “playground”.

The room is very nice, clean and big. I really liked that it is equipped with a perfect desk which is very convenient for work. Also, the bathroom is really big and has both a shower and a bathtub.

The location of the hotel is a little bit far from the train station of Verviers.

Very nice dog friendly hotel

The food was very good, both dinner in the restaurant and the buffet breakfast. The new year's eve dinner was excellent and the buffet breakfast on new year's day exceptional. The room was comfortable, quiet and clean. Staff were very friendly. The dog was made welcome and joined us in the restaurant.

The hotel is on the edge of town next to a shopping centre and looks over buildings towards the motorway, so the surroundings are not the best, although it is a short drive to beautiful countryside and access is easy.

Only the breakfast´s presentation leaves to be desired. Displaying the cold cuts and cheeses in metal boxes with plastic lids on top isn´t very appealing.
