The hospitality. Booked TWO rooms in an hotel restaurant with two children (5mo and 4y) but they didn't find a place for us in an half empty restaurant. We had to drive 20 minutes to find something to eat.

Would I stay here again? No. It served its purpose, but that’s about it.
The river was pretty, but you don’t get to sit at its banks.
We just completed a stay here, and overall, I’d say it was underwhelming. The room was clean but dated, with clear signs of wear—especially in the bathroom, where mold and tile damage around the tub were noticeable. The beds were comfortable, but I felt a bit grossed out due to the lack of a mattress pad and a flat sheet that kept coming untucked during the night. A pillow selection beyond the standard would’ve been appreciated.
The hotel itself feels worn, and while dinner in the restaurant was tasty, it was seriously overpriced—entrées ranged from €28 to €40, with no budget-friendly options. Beer prices were reasonable, though. There’s nothing within walking distance, so you’re pretty much locked into their dining.
The biggest letdown was breakfast. I’ve stayed at many hotels across Europe, and this was by far one of the weakest. There were no tea options, minimal food selection, and no staff around to ask questions. We arrived at 9:15, and the eggs were cold and unappetizing. If the guest count is low, maybe adjust the price.

The place is nice, but the reception staff isn't.
The location was nice. The surroundings are amazing.
The staff tried to scam me with 20 Euros, I asked at first for a late checkout, which was 20 euros, after which I needed to remain one more night and they kept the 20 euros extra besides the money for a whole day stay. Not to mention that I needed to check-out at 3:00 AM. I asked them to refund me the 20 euros and after they initially hesitated, they finally refunded me the initial late check-out fee. That was really not nice of them.
Also, verry important, the food is horrible. There is no point to take the breakfast. Use the money wisely and buy yourself something better to eat elsewhere.

Room ok, very nice setting on the river banks with terraces, but noisy because of train station.
Room ok, buffet breakfast proposed but not taken at 18€/pp. The restaurant seemed nice, but they only proposed a buffet the night we arrived at 49€/pp, which we considered a little too expensive.
Too much noise from the train station situated just in front of the hotel. Room a little bit dusty.

One of the highlights was the friendly and polite staff, who were always willing to assist.
I enjoyed the dinner buffet with its wide variety of delicious food options. However, I couldn't help but feel that the price of 45 euros per person was a bit steep for the overall dining experience. Nonetheless, I appreciated the effort and quality of the food served.
On the plus side, I did enjoy the quality of the butter, bread and croissants at the breakfast.
One positive aspect of the hotel is that there are ample parking spaces available nearby and a charging station for EV.
I found the breakfast selection to be somewhat limited, and unfortunately, the scrambled and boiled eggs were tasteless and weren't as flavorful as I had hoped, possibly due to being overcooked. Additionally, some of the plates offered to guests were damaged which detracted from the overall experience.
Our room had two small beds that were connected together but unfortunately, they kept sliding apart during our stay, which was a bit inconvenient. Additionally, the width of the bed was on the smaller side and I personally found it uncomfortable to lay on, despite being of average size.
There was a noticeable issue with the door to the building where our room was located, as it made a loud cracking noise whenever someone tried to enter. This may be more of a concern for those with rooms on the ground floor, as we could hear it quite clearly from our room.
Please be advised that the payment terminal at the location does not have a contactless option.

The car park is a little way from the hotel situated just over a river crossing foot bridge, so no enclosed private parking although spaces for a few cars are marked for the hotel.
The car park was directly opposite a railway station so some train noise is apparent.

The location is great because your are very close to the nature and there are many trails that can be done around, and the Le Parc à Gibier de La Roche is in driving reach. There was convenient parking space, not very crowded. Nice setup of the restaurant, with the outdoor tables for people to enjoy a meal, beer or simply just to work on the side of a small river.
For the amount of money spent we received a room in a basement, in a different auxiliary building, with twin beds, yet the reservation was for a double bed. The room (number 37) was situated near some laundry area or boiler that was constantly making noise making sleeping incredibly difficult. The room also had a closed door to another room, and all the sound could pass easily from one room to another. Not very great for relaxing. The furniture in the room was old. After the first night we decided to ask for a different room because of the sleep issues and we received a room in the main hotel building with better conditions. I don't understand why the two so different rooms had the same prices but different quality, they should have least offered some lower price/discount for the bad room. After the switch, the reception staff forgot to notify us that the hotel doors from the main building automatically close after 10 and that we have to use a code to enter, and we were close to sleep outside in the cold, but luckily there was still someone in the kitchen that allowed us to enter. The restaurant staff is not prepared for serving international clients due to lack of basic conversational English language skills which for the hotel industry is very important, which made ordering in the restaurant rather difficult. The breakfast Swiss buffet menu was poor, there was only scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, some slices of meat and cheese, cereals, yoghurt, bread buns, hot water, jams and coffee, there were no vegetables or different kinds of prepared food, hence for someone vegan/vegetarian the choice is very limited. There were no trays for the plates so you had to keep going to the table back and forth through a narrow path to get everything you would need, and making it difficult to keep a distance from other people and the bread and camembert cheese had to be cut with a knife that everyone had to touch (no COVID-19 conditions).

10 op 10, het was daarbij de tweede maal dat we daar kwamen.
Vriendelijk personeel, de eerste avond ( vrijdag ) waren we daar gans alleen, en de kok is voor ons speciaal opgekomen om voor ons te koken. Prachtig toch.

Gezellig verblijf maar avondshift van receptie en restaurant moeten beter!
In het algemeen was het hotel een gezellig verblijf en een aangename locatie naast een pittoresk riviertje. Wifi was zonder problemen overal aanwezig en het feit dat het hotel een restaurant heeft met lekkere, lokale gerechten maakt het makkelijk om er 's avonds nog te dineren.
Er waren echter een paar punten die sterk tegenvielen. We kwamen later aan dan de opgegeven inchecktijd, wat we zeker begrijpen, maar als de receptie tot 20u officieel open is en het restaurant tot 21u mag dit voor de gasten die altijd op de eerste plaats komen geen probleem zijn. We hadden echter sterk het gevoel dat dit te veel moeite was. We kregen bovendien een kamer voor 4 pers toegewezen hoewel ik er 1 voor 2 had geboekt. De kamer voor 4 was te groot en te ongezellig. Na aanvraag kregen we gelukkig een andere kamer wat wel positief was. Het restaurant echter liet helemaal te wensen over. Ik en mijn vriend hadden zoals iedereen gekozen uit een 3-gangen menu. We kregen ons lekkere voorgerecht maar na 3 kwartier wachten was ons hoofdgerecht er nog steeds niet. Plots komen ze met onze desserten aan tafel. Wij melden eerlijk dat wij nooit onze hoofdgerechten hebben gehad en daarom er zeker niet voor wilden betalen. Het personeel van het restaurant dat de drukke avondshift volledig niet onder controle had naar ons aanvoelen (ik had al eerdere fouten opgevangen), wilden dit niet geloven en beschuldigden ons van dit wel te hebben opgegeten. Ons bestek bijvoorbeeld was echter ongebruikt. Alle opdiensters beweerden zonder bewijzen het tegendeel. Men dreigde ermee te kijken op de camera's maar dat kon pas maandag als de hotelmanager er was. Men had dus geen bewijzen en was rondweg onbeschoft naar ons toe. Men heeft zonder meer de volledige menu's aangerekend en doorgegeven aan de receptioniste van de ochtend nadien. Deze was niet geïnformeerd maar was gelukkig wel zo vriendelijk om ons te geloven. Enkel voorgerecht en dessert werden aangerekend, wat in principe nog te veel is want in verhouding is zo'n menu goedkoper. Deze houding kan echt niet naar klanten toe. Zij hebben altijd het voordeel van de twijfel als er niet meteen bewijzen zijn. De zaal telde hooguit 20 tafels. Excuses zouden op hun plaats zijn.

Nous y étions en famille. Suite à un malentendu par rapport au petit déjeuner, à des informations erronées données par mail et répétées sur place et à une mauvaise communication entre l'hotel et le restaurant, on nous a traités avec des longues mines une bonne partie du w-e, en nous accusant presque de trompeurs. "Toute la faute au client" semblait être la devise. Quelle manque de professionnalisme!
Dans cette ambiance, on n'a pas osé signaler que trois des cinq lampes de la chambre ne fonctionnaient pas... dans l'emblée, le rapport qualité/prix de l'hôtel est disproportionné.
Pour tout dire, notre plat végétarien était délicieux. Même si on a dû faire une réservation au resto sans savoir ni ce qu'on mangerait, ni le prix...
Bref, nous n'y retournerons pas.
