An excellent hotel in the old centre of Sedan. Great value.

Le Saint Michel is a well-run independent hotel in a good location with a very good restaurant attached. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. It’s an old building but everything was very clean and in good condition. It’s outstanding value for money.

An interesting hotel in a historic part of the town.

I enjoyed the outside dining on the terrace. The dinner was excellent. Breakfast was also good and the croissants as fresh and buttery as any I've ever tasted. The hotel is characterful in a great location near the citadel. I was able to park my car in the parking very nearby, for free. The bedrooms have been upgraded so the facilities are good. The patron was very friendly and welcoming. I'd be happy to return.

Some of the furnishings in the public areas are tired and need replacing or re-upholstering. The reception area has a weird display with strange items including the root of an olive tree. That needs to go, as does the glass screen on the reception counter that presumably has remained after the lockdown. The waitress could do with trying to smile now and then!

Large room. Fantastic restaurant. Excellent proprietor could not have been more helpful. We were traveling on motorbikes and it was very hot. When we arrived the Proprietor set up an outside table and poured us a cold beer with out asking. Hotel had a secure garage for our bikes.

Nothing really. Some parts of the town in this area are a bit run down but being next to the fort makes up for this.

Welcoming and comfortable hotel

Friendly and welcoming hotel. Room was a good size with a very comfortable bed and a window seat to look out over the street. Quiet part of town and a good night's sleep. Great location close to all the main sights. We didn't have breakfast but had dinner in the restaurant, which had a cosy atmosphere, traditional French menu and tasty food. The owner/manager was very supportive and helpful when I twisted my ankle badly.

Very pleasant stay, pitty only one night.

Very friendly owner, very helpfull with questions regarding the room. Big room, comfy bed. Great location in downtown Sedan. Very nice traditional French style restaurant. Great value for money. We will come again for sure.

Location is perfect, in the centre of the city, just outside the castle with a lot of parking spaces around. The staff was really nice and helpful. The rooms were clean and comfortable.

The rooms with the view at the yard were rather dark, it was not possible to pull the blinds up.

Exceptional

Old 'Logis de France' member hotel, which means a great family owned hotel that makes your stay in Sedan a nice stay. Just a well run hotel in old part of town, right under the beautiful castle. Easy parking (free). Great restaurant with a great menu with good value for money. Came with the family and dogs, we received warm welcome by owner. No nasty surcharges for the dogs. Hotel that breathes a load of history.

Classic old building in a quiet street 2 minutes walk from the Citadel. Lovely beds in spacious rooms. Excellent buffet breakfast. Lovely restaurant with nice staff. Very professional Manager. Good value for money. Bike storage in courtyard.

THE BEST ADDRESS IN SEDAN FOR ACCOMMODATION AND DINING!

Everything was perfect. We don't remember being so pleased with our booked accommodation in a long time! The room was exactly as shown in pictures, with enough space for suitcases and clothing and a huge, super-clean and practically laid out bathroom! The location was perfect, too, right across the street from the entrance of Sedan#s main attraction, its fortress and a few minutes walk to the rest of the downtown and monuments. Parking was amply available either right in front of the hotel or in the parking to in front of the fortress, a few meters away from the hotel entrance. We also dined there and the dinner was exquisite (sole meaner for me and sander for my husband), while the owner of the hotel and restaurant and the waitresses were very attentive to our needs and special requests. Finally, the breakfast was exactly what one needs, from the fresh-squeezed orange juice, to fresh fruit and freshly baked croissants and pains au chocolate and other French breakfast staples, like fruit jams and preserves. All in all a perfect experience which may be repeated just for the sake of the hotel (i.e. although we feel we have seen Sedan's main attractions).

Nothing! Everything was perfect! We just wish the owner a long life so he can continue to serve travellers and diners with the same spirit of proactive hospitality and enthusiasm for his profession!

Great hotel but need to rectify the faults in the rooms

Style of the room had a warm and relaxing atmosphere to it, location of the hotel was brilliant and managed to get a good parking space next to the hotel. Restaurant looked very nice and comfortable. Great views of the sedan castle.

Wifi on the 4th floor (Etage4 chateau name of wifi Id) was absolutely terrible no signal at all, door handle on the shower screen were loose, air con was flashing faults on the controller and not working, had to use the 2 fans that were there. Light fittings above the bed side tables areas were broken held up by cable ties.

What a wonderful place, this is the France you'd want to experience! Great hosts, fantastic food and wine selections, and a comfortable room in a great location, where it's easy to park! This is French hospitality (and food :)) at its best! A special thanks to Monsieur to allow us an extension for the day at a very reasonable fee!!! Greatly appreciated.

I would only recommend to have sensors for the hallway lights that detect movement. The light buttons to press are not always clearly visible in the (very) dark hallways at night. Other than that, NO complaints whatsoever!

On arrival, reception, restaurant and room looked fine. Hotel was located in a nice area

No water in rooms which, I would have thought would be a basic, considering the hot weather. No tea/coffee making facilities either. We arrived on Saturday, and knowing that all restaurants would be booked up, we asked the owner if we could reserve a table for 3. He said yes but when we came down for dinner, the waitress, who didn't seem very helpful, said there was no reservation even though the restaurant was half empty.

Next to the fort in old part of town. Spacious triple room and dog friendly.

Sedan is a a slightly depressing town, lots of bordered up buildings & dirt. We much preferred Charleville-Mezieres for a stop-off south, which feels more 'French'. Room was very warm (air con not working) and wifi not great.

Good place for a stopover

Lovely old building. Quite hot on the fourth floor but a fan was provided. Breakfast was especially good with fresh tea, oranges to juice, facility to boil own eggs. Lovely views over the rooftops with the swallows (I think?) dipping and diving. Clean and comfortable. Having a dog with us was not a problem. Carrefour City just around the corner. Within walking distance of the fort.

Some slight noise from people eating outside but finished very early so didn't disturb sleep.

There was nothing I disliked, but some constructive criticism is that the breakfast was a bit basic, some simple cooked food could have been laid on, e.g. bacon and scrambled eggs, and a bigger choice of croissants and pastries.
