⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Gerindem Cottages – My Honest Review I stayed at Gerindem Cottages for 14 nights and would happily stay here again. It isn't a luxury resort, but it's a beautiful, peaceful place to base yourself in Ubud, and it genuinely became a little home for me. ❤️ What I loved The location is excellent. There are several great warungs, cafés and restaurants immediately outside the entrance, so you don't need a scooter if you don't want one. Ubud town is around a 20-minute walk, which I really enjoyed, and GoJeks are inexpensive if you'd rather ride. Like most of Bali there aren't proper footpaths everywhere, but I always felt safe walking. The room was spotless and very well maintained. It felt fresh, clean and cared for, not tired or run down at all. I'd actually come from another property that felt quite worn, so the difference was immediately noticeable. I loved having both sheer curtains and blackout curtains, which meant I could leave the doors open, enjoy the beautiful Ubud breeze and rarely use the air conditioning. I brought my own portable fan and found the natural airflow perfect. The bed surprised me. It was much firmer than I normally choose, but I ended up sleeping incredibly well and my back actually preferred it. It became one of my favourite beds during my travels. The pool was one of my favourite parts of the property. I used it every day for movement and gentle exercise rather than simply relaxing. It's refreshingly cool after a hot day in Ubud and became part of my daily routine. Breakfast is ordered from a nearby local warung. It was always tasty, reasonably priced and could be enjoyed in the dining area or delivered to my room. The staff were always friendly and polite, and the manager, Fiver, was excellent. I had his WhatsApp number and every concern I raised was dealt with quickly. For example, when I mentioned the shower head wasn't working properly, it was replaced the very same day.

Things that could be improved The biggest downside was noise once the property became full. For most of my stay, management thoughtfully spaced guests apart, so it was wonderfully peaceful. However, once neighbouring rooms were occupied, I could clearly hear conversations, coughing and even someone talking on their phone at 1 a.m., which woke me up. The balconies don't offer much privacy, as neighbouring balconies can easily see across into each other. There is also a nearby Balinese community hall (banjar) where local cultural and community events are held. At times there were drums, announcements over loudspeakers and community gatherings. Personally, I enjoyed knowing local life was happening around me, but light sleepers may want to bring earplugs. Between the occasional roosters, neighbouring guests and community events, earplugs are definitely worth packing. A small fridge in the room would make a huge difference for longer stays. There is an Indomaret right next door, so buying fresh food and drinks is easy, but having somewhere to keep them cold would be a welcome addition. The staff were always cheerful and kind, and every issue I raised was resolved quickly. However, I do think there is room to improve the overall guest experience. During quieter periods, some staff spent long periods sitting together playing cards, sometimes quite noisily. After several days this became distracting. I'd have loved to see those quieter moments used for things like sweeping pathways, tidying outdoor areas or attending to small maintenance jobs that help the property feel constantly cared for. I did notice maintenance being completed inside rooms after guests checked out, so it was mainly the outdoor presentation that could benefit from a little more attention. There were also a few small details that could be improved.

Very nice, large room with tiled flooring and airconditioning working well. Very quiet, away from the noice of the city centre. Lots of green plants around. Excellent breakfast (omelette , mi-goreng, nasi-goreng or pancakes) with coffee/tea or fresh juice which we enjoyed sitting by the swimming pool, overlooking the rice fields. Free wifi Very friendly staff Lots of eateries or little Warungs and a nice bakery around the corner. I also had a fantastic massage across the road Very good value for money

We were very happy with this place. Mattresses were a bit hard. Towels are a bit older but that didn’t bother us Light switch for bedside lamps are on the side of one bed but we used a torch for the other side for nighttime toilet visits. You’ll stay at a wonderful, quiet and green place but therefore you need to walk for 20min to city centre along the road or you take a ride on a scooter

Великолепное место! Отдельно стоящий домик прямо у океана. В домике высокие потолки и ощущение простора и покоя. Изумительные рисовые поля прямо у домика. На берегу нет людей и это тихое прекрасное место. И вид на горы изумительный. Я была просто счастлива провести тут 3 дня и вернусь еще. Хорошие завтраки, хороший бассейн, но я им не пользовалась тк рядом изумительный чистый океан

Нет чайника и номере и нет кулера с водой хотя бы на ресепшн. Хотелось бы иметь питьевую воду
