The Papas Villas

Our stay at The Papa’s Villas was absolutely unreal. It is run by a family owned business which takes immense pride in their service. The view overlooking the rice fields from the pool was a highlight of the trip. ​The staff service was incredible. Ketut, our driver, was so friendly, and Kadek provided the best local tips, like finding a peaceful rice field where we could watch the Balinese people planting and harvesting by hand. ​The breakfast was wonderful. You should try the banana pancakes. If you are looking for a beautiful, authentic experience with service that goes the extra mile, I cannot recommend Papa’s Villas enough. Thank you for making our stay special.

I really don't want this review to upset the staff because they were genuinely wonderful. One morning we accidentally overslept, and they kindly served us breakfast even though breakfast hours had already ended. They also provided complimentary transportation to and from nearby places we wanted to visit, which we truly appreciated. The hotel is in an excellent location, the room is spacious, there's a water dispenser in the room, and the bed is very comfortable.

This was a huge, huge, huge disappointment for me. There are two villas, and they are priced the same. When I made my reservation, the photos showed the neighboring villa with its breathtaking view. That villa has a stunning, wide-open view of the valley and overlooks the entire infinity pool. In fact, that view was the main reason I chose this hotel. However, the room we were given only has a partial view of the pool and a limited view of the valley. The difference between the two views is enormous. (I'll attach photos for comparison.) Please, please remove the misleading photos or clearly indicate that the second villa offers only a **partial pool view**. Guests should know exactly what they are booking. I believe this would prevent disappointment and make expectations much fairer. Other than that, the hot water wasn't quite enough for two people to shower comfortably one after the other. The breakfast was average, and we found the pool water too cold to enjoy swimming comfortably

The location is away from the touristy area and the deluxe villa we had was quiet and had magnificent views across a ricefield valley and coconut palm covered ridges. Easy access into the Tegalalang terraces at the entrance across the road from The Papas, but also access to authentic local paths through other rice fields north of the villa. Everyone was friendly and helpful and we enjoyed them sharing their knowledge of the area. We enjoyed the sunrises and birdwatching from our balcony.

A bit of a walk to the other restaurants, but a very willing taxi service was provided to other venues and the on site restaurant provided nice meals.

Everything is dreamy at the property, the owner are very sweet and kind, rest of the staff is so cooperative, breath taking view from the villa and most important the villa is vintage and quite well maintained
