Beautiful place run by an amazing family

The complex is beautiful with an infinity pool with amazing views over the rice terraces. The place is family run giving a personal touch. The guys are very helpful with breakfast, transportation and setting up unbelievable excursions. Take their recommendations! Food was amazing too, catering well for an allergy. All the family were amazing but a special shout out to ketut! It was an absolute pleasure to spend time with you. Hopefully we’ll be back in the future.

I liked everything about this accomodation. Very good location, very quite and peaceful, where you can have your own privacy. Very good breakfast, nice travel arrangements, transfer possibilities. Very good recommendations on doing things. I felt like home and safe, like surrounded by friends, and it so important when you are alone and for the first time in Bali. These people made my days so easy and fabolous. It was amazing. Matur suksma my friends, I will come back, if I can!

Stunning property, location and kind hosts

Beautiful property in a gorgeous location. Family run business and they could not have been kinder. They took me on a tour on day one of all the things in the area: villages, coffee plantation, temple. And it’s opposite a really quiet, beautiful rice terrace. Food was delicious, and good options. I was working UK hours from the property and wifi was good for calls/e mails. Highly recommend!

Kadek's delicious cooking ... The friendliness of Kadek, Wayan, and owners Mike and Misa ... Taxi arrangements made with 100% reliability ... Referral by Kadek to an excellent local village massage man ... Rice paddy walk on the Papas Villas side of the road ... Shadow puppet (wayang kulit) show in Ubud.

At least for the highest bungalow we were in, I think the mattress should be replaced with a more comfortable one.

The private villa is simply marvelous. The views are incredible and the sense of calm is out of this world. The villa itself is very spacious and has absolutely everything you need—it’s filled with thoughtful details. What really stood out was the hospitality of the family who runs it. They treated us like family, and we’ll never forget that. We're eager to return—not only for the charm of the place—but also to reunite with our new friends. The pool was stunning and very private. Walking distance to Tegalalang rice terrace. Clean, comfortable and spacious rooms. Staff were very happy to help.

If you want to be close to Ubud centre then this is a bit further out.

Homestay feeling with the comfort of an hotel

It's close to 2 different rice fields. The famous one and a local one. The first day, we did a 2 hour walk with the son in law, visiting the local rice field. Amazing and authentic. The next day, we visit the famous one by ourselves. Also very nice, as it's walking distance from the hotel. The owner cooks simple but very nice food. The view from the terrace is very nice

If you don't have your own transportation, it's impossible to go somewhere after dark.

A luxurious home stay

It’s like a luxury homestay. The service is so personal and attentive. The breakfast was the freshest and healthiest and tastiest I’ve had in decades.

There is nothing not to like. One must remember we are in UBuD surrounded by loads of rice paddy fields and greenery so you will have a few crawlies here and there and things may be humid and moist. But then if you did not know that you would not have come to Ubud and just stayed in come sterile city

Wayan! We are sure you are the most amazing person in Bali :) Everything was perfect. Our room, pool, and view were more beautiful than we expected. Our room was very clean and very comfortable. We didn't see any flies. Breakfast was very delicious. Whenever we wanted to go to the center of ubud, he arranged a taxi. He prepared us a very delicious welcome drink, even though we checked in at night! Since our return flight was very early, he prepared a breakfast package for us. Wayan and his team were very helpful and friendly in every way! They made us feel like we were one of their family. We will always remember them as our lovely friends and if we come again we will definitely stay here again. Hope to see you soon! - Irem&Batuhan

We were amazed at the beautiful location and room at the papas villa. Walking distance with tegalalang rice terraces. The view very peaceful and relaxing. Thanks to Wayan and Ketut and others they were amazing, so helpful and friendly and even organized a birthday cake and floating breakfast for my wife which was very special! They arranged Balinese massage for us (highly recommend). If you want to dive deep into the beauty and culture of Bali, this is the place.

Peaceful, relaxing and a 100 meter stroll to the terraces short drive to temples

You cannot ask for a more serene setting. After the hustle and bustle of Ubud arriving at Papas Villas was truly paradise. Wayan and his family could not have been more friendly or helpful. From great meals to driving us wherever we wanted to go. The villa was very nice and extremely clean. And the view cannot be beat. We were extremely happy with our stay.

A paradise on earth!

We loved everything there. To start with, the place is away from the city between the rice terraces so it was like a heaven where we enjoyed the view of the green coconut trees. We had a private pool within the villa where we were swimming in the middle of the nature and in the morning having a floating breakfast. The villa we rent was spacious and very clean with comfortable bed and cosy, fully equipped kitchen. The towels smell fresh. The door was in glass so if you leave the curtains open you can see the sunrise from your bed. Michael and Misa, the owners,are very kind and welcoming. They are helpful, giving us some advice about where to go and to eat. The staff is taking a good care of everything Unfortunately we couldn't stay longer but definitely we will be back once we travel again to Bali.

The unwanted guests: the geckos! My wife is afraid of them but they are harmless.

Inspiring

We booked this place during our last two days in Bali and realized that this should have been the only place we should have stayed at. Despite being a homestay of a lovely Brit-Indo couple, it gives you a 5-star feeling. The decor is aesthetically pleasing, the architecture is lovely, the pool is long and deep enough for a relaxing swim. This is a place to stay in for a month and a perfect inspiration for a place I'd like to build someday for myself.

The only place to turn 30!

I had the most incredible stay! The staff were so genuinely kind and helpful which for me was the most memorable part! I have never stayed in such a beautiful place before, the views were heavenly - everywhere I looked was picturesque. This place is the perfect spot for exploring the rice fields, just across from it is direct access. The room was so cosy and clean. I loved having a dip in the pool after being out and about all day. Thank you so much to the owners, they were so friendly and even helped me celebrate my birthday with a cake! Also I really appreciated Wayan's help getting me around (especially as a solo traveller)- he even organised for a restaurant to drive me back after my dinner once which was above and beyond. Thank you for opening up your beautiful space for travellers to enjoy!!

The Villa is just wonderful! Super calm, with an amazing garden and view on a rice fields. It has a very nice view, it is a relaxing place. We stayed in the villa with pool view. The price-service balance is quite good. The portion of breakfast is sufficient and delicious. Kadek lady is very friendly and cooks delicious food. We felt like at home. Thank you so much for everything. We would like to stay here next time we come. note: It takes 20 minutes by motor to the center.
