Lowena Cottage

The cottage was very clean and comfortable and very well equipped. The owner had left tea, coffee milk and fudge. A lovely thought. The cottage had a lovely garden area with table and chairs on the top level. The location was quiet and interesting. It was actually very near to the town. We had a brilliant view. It was up a steep hill and in an area of narrow roads so not easily accessible by car which we did not mind. The owner had been quite clear about this and given various options of where to park and how to reach the cottage. They had even given the number of someone who would bring luggage to the cottage on a quad bike :).

The property was very good and clean and all the amenities you need. However not sure why there was Tiptree jam on the table. I’m from Tiptree and didn’t expect to see something local to me on the table. I would liked to have seen something from Cornwall.

The location was terrible. So much walking up hill and down hill. It’s dangerous and can’t even take a car up there to unpack

We had a wonderful stay at Lowena Cottage and could not have asked for a better place to stay while visiting Looe. I came with my mum for a little Bank Holiday getaway, and the cottage was the perfect place for us, it truly felt like a home away from home, cosy, comfortable and well equipped, with everything we needed and even many thoughtful extras. The owners were fantastic. They were very quick to respond to any questions we had and were incredibly helpful and accommodating throughout our stay, which made everything easier. The location was also excellent for us. The cottage is around a 10-minute walk from the train station and about 10 minutes from the town centre, making it very convenient for exploring Looe without needing the car. As mentioned in the description, the cottage is situated at the top of a fairly steep hill. This was not a problem for us as we enjoy walking and hiking, and we only had backpacks with us. However, I would definitely recommend taking a taxi or follow owner instruction if you have heavy luggage or mobility difficulties. On a rainy afternoon and evening, we particularly enjoyed relaxing in the cosy living room, watching TV, reading and simply enjoying the lovely view. It was the perfect place to come back to after a day exploring Looe.
