Not easy to find the property. Access up a steep narrow lane and on a sharp bend difficult. Lots of stairs to access our apartment. Kitchen is very small but just adequate. Carpet in the lounge is wrinkled and a trip hazard

Great weekend stay at Admiral's Apartment, Looe.

The apartment was well presented and equipped and in a great location. Lovely decking area to enjoy warm and sunny evenings. Our host, Sarah-Jayne, was very welcoming and helpful. We would definitely book again for a longer stay.

The bed was small, bedding could do with updating, the sink in the kitchen was in an unusual place, some of the decor could do with updating although it would appear the owners have updated some areas and the sofa was very uncomfortable.

Comfortable and fully met our expectations. Good base to explore the area.

The apartment was clean and spacious, good Wi-Fi . It was a good place to relax if you didn’t feel like going out. The views across the estuary were good and the place felt secure even when the storm was lashing the rain at the windows.

Not a fault of the property but access is via narrow lanes. If you are fit and healthy a walk into town is fine but if you have mobility problems this might prove to be a challenge. Whilst there is parking in town the places fill up quite quickly.

Someone was cooking something really smelling and garlicky at 7.30am. It wafted all over the apartment. This is hardly the hosts fault however!

hard to drive to as very steep, quite a way out of town, small beds that were not massively comfy. Dog friendly but no immediate outdoor space for the dog to pop out.

beautiful town.

The view from the room and location was great, only about 10/15 minutes to the main beach. Close to all public transport and nearby shops and pubs.

fortunately as a family we are young and fit but if you are none of these then the walk to and throw the location could be a challange as on steep slopes. This also would of been an issue if we moved the car every day from the parking space as the road was very narrow and again a challenge to get into the appartment space. For us though we parked once and left the car there.

Absolute gorgeous place to stay

The host were extremely friendly and helpful which made our stay so welcome and comfy:) the rooms were so clean, tidy and comfortable. The view from our apartment was stunning! Definitely will come back again! The apartment is so close to the town and water, we could just walk to anywhere we wanted within 10 mins:) Thank you all so so much! We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday:) x

Excellent accommodation- 100% recommended!

My partner and I along with another couple stayed in the admirals apartment on the top floor for 4 nights (5 days). As soon as we arrived we were blown away with the view from the parking area let alone actually inside the property! Absolutely spectacular. They had available parking for 2 cars for this apartment which was ideal. The inside was clean, bright and spacious. Sarah (the owner) greeted us straight away and showed us around. She was very informative, helped us with places to go during our stay and went above and beyond for us during our stay. We accidentally snapped the key in the lock one day and they were so calm and reassuring and made no fuss which made us feel relaxed about the situation as we were very worried! Our car also wouldn’t start a few days in and they kindly lent us some jump leads. They also allowed us to store our bikes in a safe area. Anything we needed, we politely asked Sarah and she accommodated which was lovely, really made our stay relaxing and enjoyable. We didn’t cook much during our stay (only breakfast) but they had all the facilities for this. Best part was the dishwasher! Put it all in, turn it on and go out and enjoy your day! The apartment had been cleaned very well before arrival, with fresh sheets and fresh fluffy towels. The bed was so comfortable it was impossible to have a bad nights sleep, even if there was some noise coming from the local pub. The massage chair in the lounge was an absolute bonus, that definitely got used everyday more than once! The outdoor area was large enough and was well lit during the night with beautiful solar lights running around the whole area. One night we grabbed a Chinese which was a 10 minute walk up the road and sat there of an evening and had a chilled night with stunning views. Honestly couldn’t beat it. This accommodation is in a perfect location with a short walk into town. No need to take the car anywhere if your staying within Looe.

Good location in Looe but needs a redesign

The property has a great aspect overlooking the river in Looe and is very handy for the train station and bus connections if you don’t want to take the car everywhere in the surrounding area. Beds are very comfy too. However…

The apartment (we stayed in the 3 bedroom Admirals at the top of the house) has been decorated and furnished to the owner’s taste but the layout just didn’t work for us. The kitchen and living room are the main problem. The kitchen is tiny and has a table for six sandwiched into one corner. Luckily there were only 3 of us but a group of 6 trying to eat in here? No way, a wall on one side an a fridge freezer on the other mean it’s just not practical. And why did they place the sink in a corner where you have to lean over to wash up?! As for the cupboards over that dining table…don’t bother, you can’t reach the doors easily. The kitchen needs a complete reconfiguration and you would have far more workspace etc. Put the dining table in the living room - there’s ample space in there if you get rid of the unnecessary IKEA sofa bed thing under that lovely picture window. And change the sofa - we spent half the time propping our backs up with cushions as we kept sliding down it! It’s not wide enough for 3 people either. The massage chair in the corner should go and be replaced with a normal armchair. And why is the TV mounted so far up the wall with wires hanging down from the back? Just put it on a stand, that’s far better for the neck! And finally, would it be too much to ask for a pair of oven gloves and a teapot in one of the loveliest spots in England??

Memorable stay

The apartment is perched on the hillside like most accomodation in this little town, and this one being on the top floor hence the hillside and water views were lovely. We were a short walking distance from town which was perfect as we didn't need to move the car once we maneuvered up the brief narrow approach to the apartment. This was a little tricky for us city folk who aren't used to these lovely quaint roads :) There was parking across the street on the main road next to the petrol station so we just parked there when we took the car out on our last day. The apartment was spacious, very clean and had everything we needed. The nautical theme of the decor added to the charm and it felt spacious, light and airy with great views. We were 2 adults, 1 teenager and a small dog who we were very happy could accompany us on this memorable trip to this quaint little town. Our hosts were very attentive and made sure all was well. We will definitely be back. Great location, lovely (2BR/2 BA+ additional small kids room with bunk bed) apartment, beautiful views, well maintained and lovely hosts.

There was really nothing we didn't like, it was perfect for us. But keep in mind that someone with mobility issues might struggle with walking up to the apartment. This might be a problem anywhere in Looe other than in town which is flat land. For us the distance from town was just right, a short easy walk within close distance of both East & West Looe.

Fantastic, would definitely go again.

We absolutely loved the location perfect for our young grand-children. Close enough to be able to walk to the park with the kids and to two beaches - the soft sands of East Looe and the dark sands and rock pools of West Looe. There is a picturesque train station at the bottom of the Hill which gave us another day trip, we did a boat trip around the island and had a fantastic time. The apartment was roomy and kept very nicely with extra touches like the toy cars and board games for a rainy day - though it was wonderfully sunny all week. We also used the electric BBQ and had a lovely evening on the balcony over looking the river.

Although it goes with the territory of summer holidays by the beach we were very conscious of the impact on our neighbours of two very young children up early each morning. The couple we spoke to below us, as well as the owners, were very understanding and made us all feel really welcome. I would probably swap for the downstairs apartment next time but would definitely go again.

Great flat, amazing views!

Large, comfy flat with lovely outside area and amazing views. The flat stays nice and cool, had every thing we needed and we felt right at home. Great location - easy walking distance into town or to beach. Nice friendly owners who were very responsive and helpful. We’d defo stay here again!

Is at the top of a narrow, steep road - the entrance to parking was on a very steep bend. We were able to get our SUV up there and into the car park, but sometimes with difficulty. Can’t be helped, this is the nature of the area, but a heads up on the property listing would be good for future guests.

The apartment was very clean, close to town, and the hosts couldn't do enough for us. The views from the top floor apartment were fantastic and the apartment was well catered for children with games and toys available in the bunk bed room.

We are struggling to find negatives, the only down side we could see was that the "communal" bathroom i.e not the on suite could be accessed only via the bunk bed room. So if you needed to spend a penny in the night, you either have to risk waking the kids up in the bunk beds or sneak into the master bed room. This didn't worry us too much, the apartments were well cared for and well maintained so the doors didn't squeak which meant sneaking into our 4 year olds room was relatively easy and he was so exhausted from the excitement (some of which was from finding the large selection of toy cars in the cupboard in his room which kept him quiet for ages).
