The staff, first and foremost. I ended up arriving after midnight and Nanie was so gracious and let me right in. Always a delicious breakfast and the place was clean and had hot water, a huge bonus. The location is great for shopping and it is walking distance to the Monkey Forest

The room is highly recommended and Nanie is a very warm-hearted host! It is clean, spacious, and has everything you need. The water pressure in the shower was finally like at home! The breakfast, which you can choose yourself and which Nanie delivers fresh and warm to the room in the morning, was super delicious!

I had a wonderful stay at Kertha Ubud. The room was very spacious, clean, quiet, and came with a lovely balcony. The bathroom was huge too, which was such a nice bonus. The bed was comfortable, and after a long day exploring Ubud, it was the perfect place to unwind. I was travelling solo and truly appreciated how safe and secure the place felt. Nanie, who manages the accommodation, is an incredibly kind and attentive person. She checked on me to make sure I was okay, and she always had a warm smile and helpful tips about the area. Her care made me feel very welcomed. The location is ideal for solo travellers — right in the heart of Jalan Monkey Forest, just a minute’s walk to the main road with plenty of cafes, eateries, and shops. Super convenient and easy to move around. Nanie also has a charming souvenir shop in front where you can pick up thoughtful gifts to bring home. Overall, it was a great place to stay, excellent value for money, and the location couldn’t be better. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Ubud. 🌿💚

Nothing major — the stay was great overall. If I had to mention something, I personally would have preferred a ground floor room, but it wasn’t a problem and everything else was excellent.

Lovely stay, perfect location and wonderful host

The hotel is perfectly located on the bustling Monkey Forest Street, which is lined with beautiful shops and features appearances by monkeys from the nearby Monkey Forest Sanctuary on top of shops, running across power lines, etc. Never a dull moment! The owner of the hotel is a lovely person and was extremely welcoming and helpful. The room was just perfect for my needs, and I really enjoyed the included breakfast. There is a gorgeous gift and souvenir shop at the front of the hotel, where I made some purchases of items for presents. I loved my stay here and wish I could have stayed longer! :)

Clean and comfortable central Ubud hotel, close to many restaurants and Ubud temple

A convenient solid choice for a stay in Ubud. Nani the host is very pleasant and happy to help with anything. Room was spacious, good facilities and right on the Main Street of Ubud with lots of food option around (Cafe Wayan was fantastic). The bed is large, very comfortable and bedding was clean and smelt freshly laundered. Breakfast was fresh and delivered to the room. Our driver was able to pick us up and drop off outside the property without issue.

Couldn’t pick fault. Typical limescale on shower area but common in almost all accommodation in Bali due to the hard water.

Best Ubud stay I've had in 5 visits here.

Fabulous location right in the heart of Ubud. Quiet, 2nd floor, new, clean, and large room. Tons of restaurant choices within 5-10 minutes walk. The breakfast omelet was one of the best I've had in Indonesia. Can I give the host an 11 out of 10 score? Water, coffee, and tea provided. Everything worked, the AC, the water pressure, the water temperature (in a large bathroom (with divider between the shower and toilet!). Book without any hesitation... great value!

I would highly recommend to stay here when in Ubud.

Nanie is a wonderful host, she’s so kind and will help you with any questions and needs you have. The property is at the back so you get to hear the sounds of nature even though it’s a busy street. The location is great for walking around downtown and to go to Yoga Barn. The breakfast was very yummy too. I even extended my stay an extra 10 days. When I come back to Bali I would definitely stay with Nanie again.

Comfortable stay in Ubud

Our stay was very comfortable. Nanie took care of us and made our stay pleasant. Every day we have fresh breakfast made by her 🙂 location of the place is excellent, we are in city center but it was very quiet. Thank you for being our host!

Amazing host, good location, clean rooms

Nanie the perfect host and very helpful went above and beyond to make sure our stay was as good as possible. Very clean room, nice modern bathroom, big balcony with breakfast brought to balcony at a time convenient to us. Ideal location, close to central Ubud with tour operators right outside for day trips.

Only 1 bottle of water per person on arrival not everyday when room is cleaned, breakfast was tasty although limited selection, pancakes or eggs and toast, but a great fruit and drink selection available. Very leaky air conditioning on our stay but host is going to get this sorted when we left (may need service).

Centre of Ubud

Great location walk to everything, lots of restaurants, even though it was the centre of town, it was quiet when you got to your room!

It was confusing where we were staying there are two rooms slightly separate from the main building, which is a different family member! So the pool and restaurant are part of the hotel not were we where staying our breakfast was served on our balcony, which was not a problem, but the price should have reflected that!

Excellent place!

The best place we've stayed in Bali. Really appreciated the proper windows which blocked a lot of the noise from the street. There was plenty of warm water so we didn't have to worry about showering with cold water like in other places. The shower itself was also very nice. There was a TOTO toilet too! A nice surprise. The room is huge, more than enough for 2 people. The owner is extremely kind. She accommodated our requests for breakfast and the fruit and cake provided were absolutely delicious! No complaints at all about The Kertha!

4 night stay.. Great little find.. cross between old Bali( location) and new (the room) 2 well appointed but basic rooms built above family home, business in central Ubud.Basic in no TV, but large tiled, clean bedroom and bathroom. Rain head shower with good hot water, air con, shared balcony overlooking family zone. Front door is a treat!. No room safe. Small fridge, tea and coffee facilities. Linen is clean..a little tired, but so was I when I got into it.. Breakfast delivered every morning by smiling, friendly staff at your chosen time. The pool belongs to next door hotel, but with a little charm, I was allowed to use it, a great afternoon refreshing dip each day. Great location, close to Monkey Forest, great restaurants, bars etc.. Personally, I prefer more casual, unpretentious and accommodation, and the Kertha and staff was beautiful..

Good, spacious clean room with a good bed. Wonderful hosts and they arranged a private car to drive us to Amed. Room was in the inner yard so the noises from the busy street didnt reach the room so badly.

The location couldn’t have been better, right in between the Palace and Monkey Forest, on the main road but set back so you don’t hear all the noise. Nanie (the host) was so kind and helpful and made our stay a pleasant stress free one! the room itself is spacious and gorgeous. Bed was the most comfortable we’ve stayed on this trip so far!

It's really a great family, good breakfast, decent pool. It's down a little ally so your off the road. Nice and quite but close to the heart of ubud. Don't let the "rustic" outside fool you. Exceptionally clean and modern rooms on the inside

Amazing room, location and host!

Nani and Wyan met me as soon as I arrived with a big warm greeting and brought me to the one of 2 rooms above her unit. I was immediately happy with the room. I have asthma so any mildew or moisture and I would have had to leave. I usually book 1 night so I can assess places. I wanted to book the rest of the week and unlikely for me 🙁 she had already booked for following days. Shower=perfect Bed=so super comfy with such clean linens I loved smelling. she brought me a kettle when inquired. Breakfast=on the patio beautiful each morning, she delivers! She sent my laundry out and had it back folded and super dry that very night. I didn’t want to give a great review because when I return she’ll probably be booked. Truth is truth and of all the hundreds of places across the world I’ve stayed Nani’s place is DEFINITELY TOP 10! other written about carpenter 🐜 well you’re in the middle of a lush 🏝️ they’re trivial and few. They don’t bite humans and you wouldn’t find any in your bed. Nani is soft spoken and beyond kind. For real, absolute perfect location and host. 10/10 bonus, Indra works a tour stand just in front and took almost an hour of his time to help me fix my SIM card issue. I loved this stop and will book well in advance before I return as I imagine she will always be booked.
