Relaxing location that is in walking distance to everything you would need

Walking distance to beach, pub, cafes and supermarket. Quiet location that has easy access to walking trails. Nice to have a fire and the house was cosy and comfortable. It was also great to have a space to park. Shower and bath were great.

Couldn’t adjust the heating as it was set by the hosts and no coffee machine. Need to bring your own tea, filter coffee and sugar, plus something to light the fire.

All you need

We loved everything about this property. It was comfortable to just be in when you weren't out and about as opposed to the sort of place you use just as a base - comfy sofa and chairs, beautifully decorated and very clean. And the hosts provide everything you might need and more, for example there is a shed with outdoor furniture and beach equipment like bodyboards, buckets and spades, a windbreaker - the sorts of things you can't always fit in your car to take on holiday with you but make your time at the beach so much better. The kitchen has just about everything you might need too. And the shower was really powerful! I had a question before I came and the hosts were very quick to reply. And other than that, the location is just amazing. Right by a fabulous beach - you really don't need to travel to go to any others. The SW coastal path is right there, soft sand, lifeguards and waves for surfing. You don't have to worry about parking and travel when it's all right there on your doorstep. But if you do want to do daytrips, there are plenty places within an hour's drive or perhaps up to 2 hours away. We went to St Michael's Mount, St Ives and Land's End and had we had longer in Cornwall we might also have done a tin mine and a boat trip from Penzance to see seals and dolphins. But Portreath was enough for the teen kids to enjoy so we ended up staying close to the property in the end for longer than we'd originally planned.

Nothing. It was all good. Well, actually the wifi was a bit intermittent but that wasn't the owner's fault. Possibly another provider would be good to try if there are any?

We had a delightful stay, it is a lovely house in a good location.

It is very well equipped and decorated to a high standard with good quality décor and furnishings, it is well located on the harbour wall, not far from the supermarket, pubs, takeaways and beaches. The village is a working one, so there are facilites all year around.

Great house in a great location

Great property with everything that you need for a comfy stay. Very clean with plenty of towels. Literally a stones throw from the beach so easy to walk there in wetsuits with body boards - also had the added bonus of some wetsuits to use (which fitted)! The beach is great and really good for body boarding. Parking spot at the back of the house was really useful. Had a great stay and would highly recommend.

We found the main bed a bit firm but appreciate this is personal taste.

This is a beautiful house well presented and maintained, an ideal place to visit all of Cornwall

Small house on the harbour, beautifully presented cleanliness excellent. This is an ideal stay for visiting the whole of Cornwall or just enjoy the local area. Info from the hosts very helpful, a few local pubs doing food we particularly found the Bassett arms( about a 3 minute walk away) very accommodating and friendly. Fish and chips on the beach excellent value.

The parking is a little tight at the back of the property, The locals made it difficult to get out at times.

Awful location on the harbour....

Well equipped and thoughtfully decorated throughout. I guess its probably the perfect place for families with children, but not ideal for couples. With it being the hosts family getaway home, I apologise for being so brutally honest.

We felt the cleaners had left before they had finished cleaning through, we cleaned everything down ourselves with bacterial wipes as we arrived, so many dirty handmarks everywhere. Google "Portreath Harbour smell".. ugh, absolutely stomach churning stink. Every time the tide flows out there's no way you could have a window open because the smell is revolting - even with them tightly shut, you could still smell the rotten egg odour. Absolutely ruined everything. Too many dogs, lots of noise and everything you would wish to leave behind when you go on holiday. Unfortunately, Portreath is not somewhere we would want to return to ... EVER!

An Amazing property in the perfect location

The Harbour Cottage is quite possible the best cottage that we have stayed in to date (and we have stayed in a fair few). The location is perfect, central to everything in Portreath and is on the harbour side. On arrival we found that a bottle of wine had been left for us, along with additional goodies. The cottage was absolutely spotless and furnished to a very high standard (credit to the owners). The facilities were great and everything was to hand that you would need to use during your stay and more! I cannot recommend this cottage highly enough a perfect 10. We will be back that’s a certainly.

We liked everything about this place. When you're on holiday you sometimes miss the comfort of your own house but this was definitely not the case here. Absolutely everything has been thought of to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Also excellent location for visiting Godrevy Point, Land's End, St. Ives,...and delightful loop walk via the cliffs to Basset Cove and back via Tehidy Woods. Great beach as well as restaurants at just a few minutes walking distance.Absolutely amazing!

A fantastic house in a brilliant location

I would highly recommend this property which is set on a harbour with everything that you could possible need. Quite often I find something that I wish a property had , but I can honestly say that this one has it all . Immaculately clean , comfortable beds - a real home from home. 2 local pubs which served excellent food and within walking distance , great fish and chip shop and local amenities . Amazing coastal walks with fantastic scenery . Portreath is a lovely fishing village and a great base to explore Cornwall. Many thanks for a fabulous week .

Great location for exploring the North Cornish coast

The cottage was really well equipped, especially the kitchen. It was very comfortable. It was really helpful to have the one parking space as parking in Portreath when it’s busy is a nightmare as our Son found out when he visited. Recommend the Portreath Arms for drinks and pub grub which is only a 3 mins walk.
