The apartment was clean and comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with equipment and was nice to find that milk, tea, coffee, sugar, salt and pepper were provided. We enjoyed the peace and quiet and the hot tub was a real treat which we used most days, and the games room was fun. The location was great with an easy walk to the village and beach and easy to drive to many places of interest.
The bedrooms were very small and the beds we found to be quite uncomfortable with very little support and able to feel the springs, so we didn't sleep well. The kitchen was also very small, ok if you just want to heat something up. I was expecting the swimming pool to be heated as that's what is advertised, but it was cold, so only used it once. I was rather disappointed as that is why I booked this place.

We had a wonderful stay at Bassett Acre Holiday, Portreath in August 2025. Mary and Karl were fantastic hosts (with George keeping us smiling!) and Karl kindly loaned us wetsuits and body boards, plus gave us brilliant beach tips. Our kids (13 and 9) loved the pool, games room, and exploring the garden and carp pond. We needn’t have worried about shared facilities – everything was spotless and spacious, with comfy beds and top-quality bedding. Portreath is a quiet gem with a great bakery, three bars, and a lovely beach. We’ll definitely be back!

Very friendly hosts, appartment was spacious, well equipped and comfy. We could see the beach and sunset from the living room. Nice town with cafe, bar,restaurant, surf shop and access to coastal walks.

There wasn't anything to not like about our stay at bassets Acre. Everything was superb. The family who run bassets Acre are very lovely people and very helpful thank you for letting us stop at your lovely holiday home bassets acre
