Close to the coast path and with breathtaking ocean views, this contemporary four-bedroomed property offers a superior setting for a Cornish escape with family or friends. Two lounge areas mean there’s room for everyone to spend time exactly as they want, and there’s a garden plus private parking too.
A reverse-level layout makes the most of the position of this stylish property, while high-end features include oak flooring, underfloor heating, skilfully-positioned skylights and fully glazed doors for splendid views all day long. Step inside and on the ground floor there’s a lovely lounge with two sofas, a stone fireplace with a wood burner, and dual-aspect bi-fold doors onto the patio. For ultra-convenience, there’s a handy cloakroom, plus a splendid family bathroom with a free-standing roll-top bath as well as a separate shower. Choose from three ground-floor bedrooms: one has a king-size bed and en-suite shower room, and the other two have twin beds. A striking wooden staircase leads to the first floor, where an open-plan kitchen/dining/living room has all the home-from-home essentials and then some… stretch out on the sofa with a fresh cup of Nespresso coffee, share chef duties in the vast kitchen area and gather for good food and conversation at the dining table – however you spend your time here, you’ll have great views of the surrounding countryside. There’s also a stunning super-king-size bedroom on this level – enjoy a before-bed soak in the roll-top bath in your en-suite, and open the curtains for far-reaching ocean views the next morning. Patios accessed from each floor give you a choice of outdoor seating areas, while a lawn wraps around the property for additional play space. Fire up the BBQ for dinner; the outdoor shower is handy for washing the sand off toes.
Porthtowan has a golden sandy beach backed by large dunes and dramatic cliffs; the South West Coast Path skirts over the cliffs to St Agnes and Portreath (both 4 miles), delivering spectacular views for walkers. The village is at the heart of Cornwall’s Heritage Mining Area and mid-way between St Ives (19 miles) and Newquay(16 miles), making it a convenient base for further adventures.
